got the game one day.
Finished the two lowest classes with no problems.
allthough I have one bronze and a silver in the try to beat the time in 10 minutes.

Just wanted to say that i'm impressed so far by online play.
Matchmaking goes quick.
Just not sure about the starting positions. I guess they are random.

On the 7 online races entered one got disconnected.
I drove four on one account and let a friend drive three on another account. So he wouldn't mess up my stats :)

It seems when the other drivers make big mistakes the cars go through you.
If they make small mistakes the cars will hit each other.
i thought this was rather clever.

However the no barriers disappear rather quickly. So when cars in front of you are having all sorts of trouble it is still better to try and avoid them.
Blinking cars you can drive through them but only for a small period of time.

Haven't driven the professional races.

I'm also impressed by the difference of driving professional or standard.
driving standard with all the aids turned of is rather easy.
first difficulties encountered while driving GTR beat the time in 10 minutes on professional settings. couldn't control the car like i wanted. Barely got bronze.
Tried it standard and was very close to gold.

the game is well worth it's price.

One more thing. cockpit view is great. It is only much harder to see what speed you are driving. But turn the volume up and you can shift just by listening to the engine noise.

does anyone know how to turn the music off?

No you can play the game. Some options are disabled till you update the game though.

I'm stuck on that laprecord test in C class with the cappucino. Still 1.8 seconds off the gold time... Anyone with some tips?

Gold doesn't reward anything extra as far as I know. Still want to get my gold though.

I am at work right now. But my guess is you finish the first three classes and then you can tune your cappucino. I don't know if the tuned cappucino is allowed. If i'm not mistaken the test says Try to beat the time in your Cappucino.

Edit from the update itself so I think it goes for the cappucino as well.
Also, notice this - with opening the S class, QTS (Quick-Tune Setup) becomes available for most races. Although you won't be able to mess up with Power and Weight for your cars in one-lap-magic events, you'll be allowed to make mechanical adjustments - and gearing become an imperative. For example, F40's 1st gear limits at 120 km/h, while 2nd is limited at 198 km/h on default setting. Max speed at default setting is extended all the way up to 449 km/h. Reducing gear-ratios makes F40 a true beast (default gearing just kills the rear wheels with the torque), and that's the most important aspect of opening the S class events ASAYC.

Please don't double post, Krazyman.

Use the edit button, or the multi-quote feature, in future.

Thanks.

Does anyone know if tuned car is allowed in this test? I'll try the test again tonight as I'm also at work now. I know gold is not mandatory to advance but I still want gold on all tests just like I've done in all previous GT's :)

You earn more money with the A8 race. every 2 minutes you got 20.000. And with the S races you earn 32.500 but you have to race 5 rounds instead of 1 round with the A8 race. It means that you can earn 600.000 in an hour and with the S races it's around 450.000.
But yesterday i bought the F1 car and now i'm racing the A1 race at Daytona Speedway. 5 rounds in 3:30 minutes. And it's a lot of fun to see that you can lap every car in the race. The F1 is extremely fast.

Awesome:D

Oh yeah, forgot this one, can you still adjust TCS and stuff while driving if you dont have the DFGT?

You look left and right with the Joypad as well. I set it up on the right stick.

You can turn the music off in the setup options.

Cool i didn't notice that. When i come home i will test the look around right away.
I've got the playseat at home. And next week the G25 arrives. Is the G25 compatible with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue???

Just watched the F1 2007 videos on the home page...very impressive, apart from the audio. Compared to the real video that was included, the engine in the game sounded far too rough and raspy.

Awww, come on, you know it is! Why not just gloat about your new G25 in pride?!

online play is sweeeet ,update complete after 3rd try

Online is very fun! (Except when the "bumpers" come in:ouch:) I hope the "private lobby and voice chat" update comes soon

Yeah, they're good. I found out that the Tuned Elise is great for the first P-races.
Online is a more fun way of getting credits thou :)

Again, online is much funner way to get credis (But slower)... And I also used the Elise for the first P.P-630 races, but almost came on third in the P.P-700 race on Suzuka!

Is is just me, or does GT TV only have the intro movie in it? I have nothing else (PAL GT5P)

The servers have been going up and down since I got the PAL version yesterday, but I have only had the opening movie in GT TV so far (and servers are up now), strange.

I have no GT TV problems with my JPN version.

I don't know for sure, my PAL copy should be arriving tomorrow morning but I read that you can map the on the fly tuning buttons to a control pad if your using a wheel that isn't the DFP.

Was at the Bullring today and they had a GT5Prologue thing on at Dixons.. so I had a go and was the highest placed person on high speed ring they had had all week :sly: I came 3rd on the first try.. The guy and girl that were there running it were kinda happy that someone who actually could play properly, instead of loads of teenagers who couldnt drive for *

I got a goody bag with a GT keychain (the one preorder people get)... a sony tshirt and some gran turismo advertising stuff, a PS3 promotional catalogue, stuff like that!

Was quite good for just sitting down and doing a lap!

Well the servers in the UK/EU have been dodgy since yesterday. Supposedly there was a problem preventing the Thursday UK/EU update. This included GT5 Prologue which was supposed to be on sale on the PSN yesterday. It wasn't. But some point today it went up.
I got the Blu-ray version and after installation had to download the update. At first go it stopped around 60% through. However when I tried again via GTTV it worked and very quickly as it remembered how much I had attempted to download previously.
I had a few online races which were generally of good quality. I tried again but I was constantly being dropped or kicked out. Now the servers are under maintenance. Don't know how long for. So there may be some issues for some people.

As for the game, it's great. My only criticism is that some of the cars sound far too much like there earlier GT3/4 versions. Not all and many do sound quite distinct, but there is obviously more work needed in the audio department. But the game is fantastic and looks incredible.

Well. I haven't even embarked into online mode yet I want to have a good firm car garage first. I've worked my way up to get myself a nice little R8, although I'm only in Class B...Is that normal?

My only criticism..isn't really a criticism, basically I don't like being told what cars I need to do certain races. "Race Round High Speed Ring in you GTR!", well I don't want to buy Japanese cars, I despise Japanese cars, I'd much rather have Euro or American cars. So basically I don't like being forced to buy Japanese stuff!!

Peorders get a free keychain? Or is that just EU?
Peorder???

If you don't like japanese cars simply because they are japanese, Why do you like GT5 since it is japanese as well?
Catch my drift?

Not what I meant exactly, I meant I don't like Japanese cars simply because I don't like them. Doesn't mean I don't like other things made by Japan, why the hell do you think I would be on Gran Turismo Forum if I didn't like GT?
