I wish it was available tonight but I doubt it. Its 12:46am here in Ireland now and the PSN Store doesnt get updated for another 12 - 16 hours.

There is Free-Race mode as a part of both Online Race and Time-Trials, where you can drive any car on any track with any tire-compound. However, results are not added into Online Rankings

Wait, is that you by yourself on a track or against other drivers? If not, I suppose we could use N class tyres in a "free run" mode by doing online time trials:

Also notice that all Online Time-Trials are limited only by handling model and PP points. In other words, you can participate with ANY car and any Tire-compound, as long as their respectful menage gives obliged amount of PP's. I find that great, because now there will be enourmous amount of combination for every Event.

Hello again! I just got Gran Turismo 5 Prologue yesterday and it ROCKS!!! (Except for the hour, or so, where you have to wait for installing the game and downloading the update).
I love the drifting! Everytime you make a bad drift everyone go's "Booooooooh"! :lol:
And also the AI is much better! They even crash once in a while! But there's alot of "bumpers" in the online races...

But overall it gets 11 out of 10!
 
Few questions here, hopefully the GT gamers can shed some light as I am new to any GT games. I've got the GT5p

As I do not yet have an internet connection therefore I could only purchase basic cars and play on the arcade/events option.

Will there be any other extra gaming options available after completion of all events?

If I did not achieve all 1st positions in the C stages (some bronze) will that affect anything later on if I proceed to B and A?


By the way, what does PAL and PD stands for?
 
Try doing the following

1) go to the news area on the main menu
2) press the PS button on the controller
3) exit the game with the PS button
4) restart the game and the update will continue from where it stopped

So if you exit the game when in the news area it saves the downloaded update and continues where it left off. Try this and let us know if this works.

It says it on the finnish PS home page also. I think it is a mistake since press release said 28th.

Unfortunately I can't answer you questions about the contents of the game as I don't have it yet, but I can tell you that PAL stands for Phase Alternating Line and is the television encoding system used in most of Europe (America and Japan use NTSC, another encoding system).
PD stands for Polyphony Digital, the developers of the Gran Turismo series.

Hope that is of some help.

Yeah I seen that, but I checked gamestop yesterday and they said they just got it but wont hand them out until Friday. Did you check XtraVision? Nice to see a fellow Irish man, theres a few of us here.
 
Xtravision said they dont have it. World of wonder dont have and the music store with PS3 games dont have it. It should be downloadable hopefully soon though. Yesh its not often I see Irish people online. I just joined this forum cause I saw AMAR's post and I have been waiting for Prologue since I heard about it a few months ago.
 
I just noticed that Jordan got the rest of the Kazunori Yamauchi video posted up on the main page.

The F1 tears through the cars at Daytona.



But what I found more important was that when asked about damage he said they had a few manufacturers still holding out on approval but that we can expect to see it "in the very near future. Very, very soon."
 
Finally got my hands on this game yesterday..

So just look out for my kjelliken he will be speeding around the tracks.
Hopfully among the top 100 on the list as it developes.

Time-Trial races for Online Rankings (available through Arcade mode) will obviously have only S2 tire-compound available, making Online Rankings focused on showing TOP100 drivers all the time. I still find out JP system better, but I guess that competition will get more fearsome as the time will go by. Also worth noticing is that all Time Trial races (where you can't mess with both QTS or tire-compounds) are obviously driven with ABS1, because there is no drastic lock-up that can be experienced now with setting as "0"...

But the rankings still distinguishes between Professional and Standart physics???.

Despite what it says under my avatar, I too am from the Emerald Isle. Ballyshannon to be exact. It's nice to see some Irish blood on the boards. 👍

You lucky Europeans getting Prologue tomorrow. I have a few weeks left before the NA release. I was just going to break down and get the EU copy, but I'm waiting for my wheel (G25), so I might as well wait for the NA release.
