That sounds awesome
I know what you mean about the cost of tuning & grinding for the cash to do so. Drives me bonkers how fast I spend it & then how long it takes to replace :banghead:
As for the 147GTA '06 version, this is what I've got so far:
261bhp @ 6400
33kgfm @ 4800
33.1km on the clock so still running it in.
1265kg 437pp
SH tyres
FC suspension (default settings)
Brake upgrade 5/5
Standard gearbox: thinking about going to the FC transmission for the extra gear (6th) but not a fan of the whining noise that comes with it :boggled:.
FC diff (default settings)
Twin plate clutch
Stage 1 Engine tuning
Sports computer
Racing exhaust
Sports cat converter
Intake tuning
Mid RPM Turbo
Carbon bonnet in body colour
Window reduction

I think it's a decent recipe for an imaginary GTA :D

If I go for the 6 speed gearbox, I reckon these ratios will do ok
1st 3.234
2nd 2.205
3rd 1.622
4th 1.250
5th 1.000
6th 0.855
Final 3.867
Set the top speed to 290km/h & manually adjust 5th & 6th.

Thanks for taking the time to have a look at this for me. Let me know what you think. Any advice is appreciated 👍
Cheers

Thanks for sending me the above information. You will have noticed that I have done a tune based on the parts you brought and on the BHP and PP range you are at. I did make a few changes (additions) such as weight reduction and ballast to reposition the weight in the car. It was very front heavy as FF cars go. Transfer of weight was virtually impossible for me to achieve when cornering. I have done the best I could with the handling and it will corner nicely as long as it is driven normally. It is no GT car when it comes to directional change.

The transmission I created is designed to have spare revs at the top end if you end up drafting in other cars slip stream. The Turbo keeps going throughout all the gears and then loses its power gain when you get into the upper end of the 6th gear range.

Default FC Suspension was not happening at all for me. No steering ability for the power the front wheels were handling with that added turbo so that was completely custom and also the initial torque and acceleration sensitivity needed adapting to stop the front tyres from glowing. 261 BHP is a lot of power for a FF car to cope with (as Jeremy Clarkson showed when he test drove a sporty FF car in Top Gear a few years ago)

I was not able to fully remove the understeer out of the car but I felt that the improvement was much improved from the default settings. Let me know what you think, obviously, you can play around with the tune if you want to adapt it to your driving but on first impressions, this is a much improved Alfa 147.

Hey Shaun,
Thanks a lot for the work done on the 147 . I haven't taken it for a spin yet but I'm really looking forward to opening the garage & putting the helmet on :D
I agree with you about the terminal understeer the car had :banghead: Hopefully the lighter engine has it cornering better than the '02 GTA.

If I try & remember the Top Gear you refer to, I think it may have been a Vauxhall Astra VXR.

I'll take the others for a test drive too. Thanks again

Hey Shaun,
Just took the 'GTA' for a run around Bathurst and it's a definite improvement over what I had :)Still got some understeer issues like a typical FF - pick your line through the corner wisely & don't enter the corner too fast cause you're not changing it - but it puts it's power down a lot better 👍.
Thanks again

This is the '06 version with the turbo right?

Yes mate. My 'GTA'

Yes, the '06 GTA does like a very specific line but the power it has makes up for the slow corner entry. Im glad that the tune is helpful. It isn't a bad car so to speak, just lacking that something that the Ford Focuses seem to have more naturally. I do like the big exhaust on the car though. looks really nice!

Ballast seems to be the key to FF cars in GT6.

Next batch currently under development is 2 x Golfs 450pp and 500pp. A 600pp American Powerhouse, Im feeling in the mood for another Aston Martin at around 550-600pp and a couple of undecided cars. 1 will be a low power CS and another in the top end. 600-650PP. 2 are currently complete, the American car is about 85% complete and the rest will be tuned in the next couple of days. Hopefully will be able to publish them later this week.

Funny you should mention the Ford Focus. I've got a ST '13 that spent a little time at GT Auto. I've tuned it to what an RS might be and have found the default FC suspension to be the best FF car in the game as far as I'm concerned. It's so adjustable. Everything I'd want in a FF car without having to put a spanner near the suspension. Pity it's not possible to copy & paste to other FF cars. That'd be cheating though wouldn't it.
I've also got a RS500 '06 replica that's an absolute hoot! 350bhp & 1468kg

This car is fun, fast and the back end will flick occasionally when cornering, but don't let that bother you, It is very easy to control, sometimes it helps with sharp bends when the back end flicks out! A very fun car for a car which was designed to be oh so serious.

This car will do corners although it doesn't like really tight bends. I blame the americanism of it for the sharp bends handling technique. The supercharger makes this car really smooth through the gears and always able to gain speed easily out of corners. Feedback for this tune would be great as I was not totally sold on the handling but I couldn't get it any better than what I have at the moment. It may need another visit at a later date but someone let me know how this handles for them.

Edit: 2/3/14 - Tune has been revised and updated for a slightly looser rear end, Still have good stability through the bends and feels easier to drive now. Thanks ChrisH for the feedback provided.

Additional Notes 10/7/14 - For A Spec Seasonal on Bathurst - Move ballast to Position 50. As noted by @chrisspeed281

Changes have been made to the Suspension, LSD and the Downforce level.

No problem. Glad they all helped you. I enjoy tuning new seasonal cars as I find they usually help others to get gold as well. I am waiting for non-time trial events to come out so I can test some of my other cars hidden away in the garage.

Im good thank you. Trying to be good and busy with college work but its not happening at the moment!

All entry submissions have to be in on the 1st March I think.. It is in the link here. I have already chosen my two and created tunes for them. I don't expect to be in the top 3 but I may surprise myself. its the participation that counts anyway. All good fun.

The next batch of tunes ready for publication are;

Scirocco GT24 (Volkswagon Motorsport) '08
Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo
Lexus IS350 GT300 Base Model '08 (Tuned at GT500 level)
Subaru BRZ GT300 Base Model '12
Nissan GT-R '07
Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 N24 Schulz Motorsport '13
Chevrolet Camaro SS '10
Gran Turismo Formula Gran Turismo
Gran Turismo GRAN TURISMO 350Z RS

Depending on college work and actual work, I should expect all these tunes to be published by Sunday latest.

Edit: All tunes are now published on page 6.
