That sounds awesome
I know what you mean about the cost of tuning & grinding for the cash to do so. Drives me bonkers how fast I spend it & then how long it takes to replace
As for the 147GTA '06 version, this is what I've got so far:
261bhp @ 6400
33kgfm @ 4800
33.1km on the clock so still running it in.
1265kg 437pp
SH tyres
FC suspension (default settings)
Brake upgrade 5/5
Standard gearbox: thinking about going to the FC transmission for the extra gear (6th) but not a fan of the whining noise that comes with it .
FC diff (default settings)
Twin plate clutch
Stage 1 Engine tuning
Sports computer
Racing exhaust
Sports cat converter
Intake tuning
Mid RPM Turbo
Carbon bonnet in body colour
Window reduction
I think it's a decent recipe for an imaginary GTA
If I go for the 6 speed gearbox, I reckon these ratios will do ok
1st 3.234
2nd 2.205
3rd 1.622
4th 1.250
5th 1.000
6th 0.855
Final 3.867
Set the top speed to 290km/h & manually adjust 5th & 6th.
Thanks for taking the time to have a look at this for me. Let me know what you think. Any advice is appreciated 👍
Cheers
Thanks for sending me the above information. You will have noticed that I have done a tune based on the parts you brought and on the BHP and PP range you are at. I did make a few changes (additions) such as weight reduction and ballast to reposition the weight in the car. It was very front heavy as FF cars go. Transfer of weight was virtually impossible for me to achieve when cornering. I have done the best I could with the handling and it will corner nicely as long as it is driven normally. It is no GT car when it comes to directional change.
The transmission I created is designed to have spare revs at the top end if you end up drafting in other cars slip stream. The Turbo keeps going throughout all the gears and then loses its power gain when you get into the upper end of the 6th gear range.
Default FC Suspension was not happening at all for me. No steering ability for the power the front wheels were handling with that added turbo so that was completely custom and also the initial torque and acceleration sensitivity needed adapting to stop the front tyres from glowing. 261 BHP is a lot of power for a FF car to cope with (as Jeremy Clarkson showed when he test drove a sporty FF car in Top Gear a few years ago)
I was not able to fully remove the understeer out of the car but I felt that the improvement was much improved from the default settings. Let me know what you think, obviously, you can play around with the tune if you want to adapt it to your driving but on first impressions, this is a much improved Alfa 147.
