Extremely Sweet Rally Video

No, that's just when you're inactive. If your connection is active (which it would be while you're downloading something), it won't affect it at all. :)

Exactly! Thanks, Jordan...

I did this several time when I had a 56k connection. Works like a voodoo charm. They were big files, too...I think one was over 60 MB:!:

I dont think i have ever seen racing like that in real life or video. That video just openend my eyes up to whats really out there. Ive been missing out on some good sh** ! thanks for posting that man. :D :D :D :D :D

That video is really sweet, I could definitely get into that.
I'm not sure where this new Nascar bashing trend came from though. I'm not really a fan of Nascar, but I do see why people would enjoy it. It's fast, loud, tactical, the cars are inches from one another, and it has more crashes than hockey has fights.
WRC is just a different type of racing altogether (which in truth I like better anyway, but not like I enjoy F1)
As to why we don't have it here, I think I can answer that. It's expensive running a racing team, especially transporting vehicles across oceans. Extra travel expenses would make the sport cost prohibitive for smaller race teams. That's just a wild guess though, but my wild guesses are usually pretty good.

I'll field this one, Tom: because NASCAR is boring as hell. I'm not down on the drivers; it takes much skill to do what they do. However, it requires more skill than I can muster to stay awake for a race full of left turns.

Not every race is around an oval, and everyone should know that.
I'm going to ammend my reasoning about why we don't have it here, and say that it is politics. I'll bet US racing organiztions are lobbying to keep it out. I just looked up where the races were in the 2001 season, and they certainly do travel a heck of alot. Most of the races are concentrated in the same region, but it does hit South America, and Australia. (among other places)

Yeah, who knows? I love America, but it does have "inexplicable" qualities to it..... :reallyodd

Wow, that looks like me going to work everyday. :P :P :D
Nice video and Ill make sure to add that to my collection. :)

 Do you get Speedvision? If not, get to a friend's house who does get it on Dec. 10th at 9:00 PM, and experience the Rally of Great Britain! Every time I see rally racing, I have a great debate in my head, trying to decide if I like it more than F1... :weird:

Hey, at least it's good & reliable...:P:lol:

....right now I'm in the process of converting the rally video in to VCD compliant MPEG-1, so I can burn it and show it a few other folks. The process is agonizingly slow-it has been running over five hours and has only encoded a little over a minute of the video:!: I sure hope this works... :weird:

You know my Cousin knows all about that converting crap. Ill let him do that for me later.

It's not difficult. You just need the right program to do it-I'm using one called TMPG encoder. It's straightforward in its operation, but still has a metric ton of options. If you're interested, go to http://www.tmpgenc.com/ It's free!

The bigger problem is my computer. The creator recommends at least a P3 500. I have a K6-2 500. Oh, if only I had an Athlon or P4....

At least it doesn't interfere with the rest of the programs running on the computer, so we can use it normally...
