Honestly, they're fine.. If you stop the game, and look at a still image from the ps3, yeah its not the best. But does that really matter when you're racing?! You cant even notice the faults when moving, let alone when doing over 200mph..!

Yet, you can notice the FPS drop below 10-15.

It is kinda frustrating not being able to see the braking zones until you're in them aswell.

I just played f1 2011. I can safely say that their graphics are three years behind gt5. Not a bad game just poor graffics for 2011 computer powers

Not really a basis of comparison considering the hardware in both consoles date back as early as 2004 in some cases.

Get a PC and enjoy F1 2011 in all of it's glory, with effects a full two generations ahead of what the 360 or PS3 is capable of. Of course that's mostly marketing fluff considering there's no real tremendous leap in visuals.

What is a PC? Is that some sort of computer? Because the world knows there is only one computer....a Mac!! Just kidding. It seems a liilte excessive buying a computer to play video game....

I borrowed f1 2011 for ps3 this weekend and was so glad I didnt buy it for the ps3. Graphics are awful straight up. And the guy above talking his system never freezes must never have driven out a pit or something. I tried 2 different tracks and (suzuka and some other one from campaign) got an fps drop as the computer drove my car out the pit.

Q: What is Pit Assist for? I was hoping I could drive my own car out of the pit, tried turning off the assist and it made no difference?

For sure if I get this it will be on PC :scared:

really bad. i hear different PS3's are different, different hardware possibly, but i don't know the details. what i do know is this:
- it's 720, which is cheesy itself.
- no AA, or some serious AA problem that makes it look cheap, cartoony, and unclear at all edges.
- framerate is OFTEN below 20, and it skips as well when other cars are around.

try navigating a corner with 20 other cars at less than 30fps with jagged edges and skips... go ahead, i dare you.

seriously, it's bad. really bad. as in, "why did i have to pay $60 like xbox & pc'ers when they get a good game and mine is crap?".

if you can get past the grafx, the gameplay is awesome. but that's a tall order unfortunately.

I agree. Terrible graphics.

I'm still waiting for them to release the game. I've already paid and got an apparent demo copy in my box. ;)

I hate this game, and its developers, and myself for buying it. It's not fun for me at all, because of the frame rate and inability to see brake markers or anything in the distance. And I was so excited to get an F1 game. :(

I'm thinking of going back to GT5 now that spec 2 is out. Graphics are just so much better there. And enduro saves at last!

Only thing (and I'm not too proud of this) is my admittedly anal-retentive fear of damaging certain cars in GT5, which makes me less willing to push them as hard or let friends that visit me drive them. No such worries in F1 certainly, crash away at 300kph! :)

Codemasters seem to show a right arrogance and sheer contempt since F1 2010 released. Forced into making a patch and when it is released does very little and endless complication of excuses on their forum to not deal with major problems.

I've never known a game company that don't like to do patches or create huge stalling tactics for them. Or ignore it completely and hide from the public. The only time you see them usually is before the release of their new games. After release they disappear as you know what will follow.

Well i reckon, they are going to hide into there studios again, and try to improve for 2012, there is not much change in rules for 2012, so there should be no excuse for them, to improve the quality of the graphics.

I'm hopeful they'll address some of the issues, but I'm sure they'll put a lame patch that fixes only a small percentage of the problems. Seems to be the standard MO. Nothing like standing behind your product.

It's not perfect and I had to overcome myself but well. Turning the driving line on for corners only is the best option. You don't have to stick to it completely, it's just a guide line like the break markers - yet, it's visibility is "a little" better. :)

Seriously, all I see here is whining. As for FPS, I have never experienced a severe drop in framerate while playing this game. Ok, it occasionally does that thing where it shortly pauses three times, but that's normally at the start of a session.

Myself and others seem happy with F12011 and I play on ps3. It just seems that some people whine and complain because, think of the children, the anti-aliasing is poor.

Oh no.

There's more to life than graphics people. Obviously most complainers here never lived through the days when games were 4 bit and cost 60 pounds. Which was a lot more money back then, due to inflation.

The graphics in F1 2011, while they don't meet my expectations based on F1 2010, they are just fine when you actually start racing. When I'm worrying about shifting and braking points the last thing on my mind is the graphics.

Wait, am I the only person to like the graphics in the F1 2011? I mean, to me the F1 2010 graphics looks dark and gloomy while the 2011 has a much brighter graphics. Furthermore, the wet weather in 2011 looks much better than 2010. I just don't get it why people whine about graphics when actually the game offers more than just this graphics thing?

Honestly, I've played the game for half an hour and I'm liking it better than the 2010...

Glad you guys are satisfied. For the rest of us, it's rare for a follow up game to look worse than the predecessor.

Check out this article: They actually offer a reasonable analysis of what occurred with the graphics.

This quote, I believe sums up the main beef people have with the graphics:

"On the other hand Codemasters has taken a step back in terms of delivering a close multi-platform conversion with regards to the consoles. While PS3 owners now get identical road surface reflections and track textures, the impact on the graphical make-up of the game doesn't quite translate into a worthy trade-off. Image quality suffers greatly from the use of MLAA - which seems ill-fitted for the art style of the game - while the admirable PS3 optimisation effort present in F1 2010 has fallen way down the wayside."

So do I but it's horrible to see the visible difference in frame rates in between the PS3, 360 and PC. It's really good on the PS3, hands down - yet, it's not "smooth" all the time. I'd be really glad if it'd had 30 fps at all times, that's all I'd like to see. :)
