Graphics are improved on the PC version, one of the best looking racing games available today. Sounds are the best F1 sounds in any title to date.

State your platform when you're complaining.

How's the physics and force feedback/wheel support on the PS3 guys? I know F2010 was dreadfull in this departments!

Pro
Vastly improved ffb and handling
Sound is better I think
New versions of tracks (2011 real F1 versions anyway)
Nurburgring and India are cool tracks

Con
Graphics
Haven't seen the safety car yet and I've crashed 84 times
No ability to map gear up or down to the stick shift on dfgt ( that I've seen anyways )

All in all I really like this game over F1 2010

Pro - It is available for 3 platforms (PC, PS3 and XBOX)

Con - When people comment/provide fixes/have technical questions on the game they do not always state what platform they are using :grumpy:

Does F1 2011 PC game need it's own sub folder :sly:

And what has become of poor o'l F1 2010 game; is it still supported online by Codemasters?

Maybe if F1 2012 is made; they should make it DLC and thus no money spent on packaging of disc materials; freight :dopey:

I'll just need more hard drive (bits n bytes) :)

I think it's funny when I hear people complain about the console versions of the game. I can't believe for one second that the console people buy the XBOX version and the PS3 version just to see which is best. That's just nutty if true. Why waste your money. If that were the case Codemaster must be making money hand over fist with the people who claim they buy both.

Anyway...
Pro: Improved physics, sounds and AI and framerate at Monaco. Better rain handling and effects. Improved wheel feel and support. G25 seems to work better than 2010, Wheel adjustments are finer and make huge difference in feel.

Cons: Slight frame rate issues online and offline at some venues, but playable
PC graphics expectations will never come to reality in current gen consoles. Not really a con, just and observation.

I play on a PS3. Best wheel support at the moment.

PS3

Pros:

Physics and cockpit view better. Inclusion of Kers and DRS

Cons:

Worst graphics Ive seen on PS3. No AA and so pixelated in the distance Im struggling to see the corners and braking points. FPS

Pros:

Handling is far better. Feel tyres degrading and the need to warm them up. Safety cars inclusion despite not seeing yet (well I haven't crashed into the AI so of course not...). Difficulty. KERS + DRS.

Cons:

Graphics (PS3) - tyres seem to change back and forth between having just 3 colour patches available and a decent graphic of surface patch. Pitting in yesterday, I ran over some marbles and you could see them on the track, and the tyre surface looked really cool and realistic.
Race director - what is the point? I've seen 1 race incident appear up to halfway through my current season, which I presume was Alguersuari giving me a little nudge at Monaco. No information provided other than who it was so no idea! Got option to "highlight" incident, which did nothing.
Rain - I struggle like crazy, whilst the AI molest traction control to its full potential.
Cosworth - Damn my Lotus!
DS3 and the fact I'm limited to using one for another couple of months, stopping me fully enjoying the improved handling that I'm really liking!

Special mention for the improved data displayed on the HUD and on the telemetry screen.... But not a lot of information about what the data is referring to exactly!

Excuse me..but what on earth...
I didnt mention anything about buying F1 2011 for both consoles..I dont even own an xbox but i have seen F1 2011 on the 360 and for some bizarre reason, the graphics are superb compared to the PS3 version of the game

The facts are, after all the hype..CM screwed PS3 users over by releasing an unfinished, mess of a game. For that reason, I and every PS3 user has every right to complain in a 'constructive manner'. Hopefully a patch will fix things, because aside from the issues with graphics, setup bug and other glitches..it is an excellent game

well thats what you get for buying a game on a console. your game will always be inferior. i dont want to start a pc vs console debate here, but im having no problems with the PC and the game is amazing. great graphics, handling, sound, fun, no glitches (so far). no complaining here, but the problem comes with the console not the game

You started one with your first sentences.

I will admit PC is more powerful. Which leads to better gaming.

However the simplicity of console gaming makes PC gaming inferior for me as a parent. Yea myself PC be fine. However younger kids. Not so much. Consoles have there place. Otherwise the industry would of died long ago.

No debate really. Facts have been stated over and over. It comes to personal choice.

That falls on opinions. So yea. . .

If this game gets fixed for PS3. I will buy it.

The console is not the problem, its shoddy coding from CM

I dont expect PC style graphics on the PS3..Thats just silly
All i expect is the PS3 version of F1 2011 graphics to be on par with the Xbox..Not much to ask or expect

You are both fighting different arguments.... Yes PC is always going to be better than a console. But I am a PS3 owner and completely agree with your comment Jerry about XBox being far better.

My brothers both own XBox's, however I wanted a PS3 since the specs are better on paper and for GT5. You look at GT5 (where they've tried) and the graphics are nothing short of spectacular. You then look at F1 2011 tyres and see a total of 3 colours used in the whole surface area. It seems that when a game is designed for PS3 its stunning. If a game is going to be released on Xbox & PS3, they choose to match Xbox specs and accept that it will be toned down by PS3 standards. But hey, thats better than catering to PS3 owners and then seeing the Xbox can't fully cope.

I'll soon be joining the PC gaming community for this reason, it does look stunning on PC and when I have a wheel as well I'll have no excuse!

This!

A work friend played on my PS3 version a couple of nights ago, then on his bothers PS3. He said it was okay, wasnt that bad. I persuaded him to go and buy the Xbox version last night.

He called me last night and he was stunned at the difference.

We are not comparing PC to PS3. But we can compare PS3 with Xbox. There is a huge difference right now and its not fair on PS3 owners who are, by the way, the highest percentage of the F1 market.

There is no excuse for the low res, low textured, no AA pixelated crap Im seeing on my beautiful LCD monitor

How do you know that?

I believe the figures are somewhere around 1.1m to PS3 and 780k to xbox with less to PC. 2.3m units worldwide you can figure the rest

anyway its besides the point PS3 owners deserve better and the graphics should be on a par with xbox and they are no where near

totally agree with you on that. I was interested in the figures to be honest.

CM chose a bad time to release a racing game on Xbox.

Wait, they only sold 2.3M copies of F1 2011, worldwide? :odd:

which is not bad really, for such a specific game. I don't think any other racing game which only focuses in one series can sell as much.

So it's true then? No wonder I can't find race lobbies in searches.

I have never found a single race searching for anything other than Sprint.
