Well to at least get a time down, although a pretty ugly one, here's my 1st practice session best:
1:15.596, 16.766/33.399/25.431, icelt

And for some reason I kinda like the sound of the Honda.

Edit....

New best (and I don't see much improving from here):
1:14.783, 16.355/33.266/25.182, icelt

For me T1 is essentially a zero error margin corner, I either pretty well nail it or red lap it. Basically that means it frustrates the heck outta me. Also how you guys are getting a 32.+ in the 2nd sector is beyond me . Quite impressive 👍

I take it we are doing the 1st round in a Honda at Melbourne.
I'll get things going as it is a quick turn around till Sepang.

1.26.071 28.675/23.006/34.420

Took a number of laps to get in the groove. I haven't driven the game for months.

EDIT: 1.25.257 28.286/23.340/33.631

Honda at Melbourne

1:23.614 (28.469/23.174/31.971)

Still a fair bit of time out there, I would say a 22 is possible.

EDIT: 1:22.684 (27.805/22.775/32.104)

Really happy with the first 2 sectors. First sector was faster than my 1:21 in the ferrari in the p.b lap times section. Clearly screwed up the last sector though...

I've been a bit busy this week, so sorry for not keeping this thread updated. Are many of you interested in keeping this going. We didnt get many this week which is disappointing. I will be posting times again as of next week but do you guys think there is enough interest for a championship?

I am keen.👍

What's the chance of driving the Honda most of the season though

I was busy all week and didn't get but one shot at putting some time in at Melbourne :grumpy: I didn't post it because I thought I would get a chance to better my times as I only put in about 5 laps :indiff: and not very good ones at that :ouch: so I guess these will be my times for the record..........don't laugh

Melbourne 1:26.502 - 29.066/23.605/33.831 HEMIata

Welcome mrtfool. Enjoy your time on GTP.
This is a bit of fun, hope we get as many participants as last season.

Right, lets just start again I think. I should have loads of time from now on. I started this to conicide with the start of the championship originally however in hindsight that was not the best time for me as I had lots of work to do for the end of the semester and it all got on top of me and as a result even my time on GTPlanet has significantly dropped off. But now I'm more or less finished the semester and should have loads of time available!
So how about we kick this thing off again with the Red Bull in Bahrain. Seeing as though some have already used the Honda. Ok?

Might I suggest you use the edit button if you have something to add? The mods frown upon double posts.

Sorry about that. So is this fastest time competition getting started? I'm really excited about it. I think I can do pretty well. I've done really well online in the past. but this gives me a chance to also do setups. plz lets get started im so excited. May I suggest we all use BMW?? no special reason it's just my favourite team.

Ok I'll get started then.

BMW At Brazil.

Lets see how I do.

quick question. what is stopping turning of rules and doing shortcuts? I think we should race only on tracks that you cannot take shortcuts on. Brazil is 1 of those tracks. hope I can do a good time. Also is it possible to do a lap without rules on and do a shortcut and say have it as the fastest time on the practice screen etc. because if you can tracks like melbourne etc. would not be a good idea to do our times on.

Well it seemed to work out pretty well in the last championship, even if rules are off when you cut a corner your lap time goes red and will not register as a lap time in the standings during prac and qualy and the last lap time up the top right hand corner is highlighted in red so it isn't possible to cheat, the laps aren't registered.

Also genius says were doing Red Bull at Bahrain which makes sense due to it being the first race in the game and this is the first race in the championship.

cool okay. still i think all the people who post a top 8 time should be made to prove there times. Its not difficult to do, just a quick snapshot of you tv screen and post it here. then its done. As for Bahrain. I'm happy with that, plus I like the Red Bull so thats even better. I need some practice on brazil anyway. can we get started on Bahrain now and post our times?

Yes optima1, this weeks combo will run til the flag drops to start the next race in Spain.

p.s. Use as much correct grammar as you know.

As for verification of lap time, only 1st place is required to do so, at this stage.

Welcome to GTPlanet and welcome to the F1CE forums.
What everyone has been saying to you is true, sadly due to a busy schedule I wasnt able to properly organise the previous rounds, so we shall start a fresh now. :)
First round will be in Bahrain with the Red Bull.
Also I see no reason to ask for more than first place to prove their lap times, this is only a friendly competition with nothing to gain by cheating, so please just stick to the rules.
Thank you all for you patience and let the racing begin!

Okay well that's good, when does the flag drop for the start of Spain? Will use correct grammer from now on. So who is the favourite here? I'll give you all some background on me. My name is Adam. I'm 21 years old, I've been playing console racers since I was 10 so that's 11 years experience. Iv'e played every official F1 game since then till now on consoles. I'm very confident of my ability. I know I can do some very good times with the setup I have, but what I wan't to see is how good I am at setting up a car as opposed to some you gentleman. Can't wait for this season. I'm very excited about it. I have already done a lap time at Bahrain which I spent a few hours on last night. I'm reasonably happy with it. And another question to be posed, how many times can you submit your lap time? are you only allowed to submit it once? For e.g. someone does a time they like on there very first day. Then on the last da they submit a better time? So is it just 1 submit you are allowed or as many as you like but only your fastest time will be added to the record?

Welcome Adam. I am fairly 'new' here too (last fall), very very friendly group and all VERY quick drivers. I joined the last hot lap series late, but from what I gather you can keep improving your time. We usually just set a day and time for times to be posted by. But that was out of F1 season.

Correct me if I am wrong GT4 genius but we can submit lap times until the start of the Spanish GP next weekend. Which is Sunday May 10th at 14:00 GMT, which is 7AM for me here in Chicago.

I need to get better at tuning this time around to be competitive :dunce: I am clueless when it comes to F1 tuning.

Good luck all this season. Since they are shutting the NTSC online servers down :grumpy:, this is my only outlet. 👍

I have a pretty fast time so far. I won't post it yet though, because I think I can improve on it by a couple of tenths. at the moment I'm just trying to tweak every last peice on the car just to find those extra 2 or 3 tenths if I can.

I think a mid 1:29 will be a fast time at Bahrain with the Red Bull :)

Either of the 2 times mentioned above would be good times, regardless of position.

Last season was in a Williams, and you (Fishfash) were able to punch out a blinding 1'29.xxx, and the rest of us were trailing out of the last turn :D.

I'm not sure if the '06 Red Bull is up to the '06Williams.

First 20-30 laps with a couple of setups.
1'32.130 25.481 / 41.301 / 25.348 zed300

Defenately the Williams is faster then the Redbull, I have plenty experience with both cars. and the williams if you do the same lap. is a good 5 to 6 tenths faster a lap. but having said that I think the red bull can really be thrown around. It is a good car. Iv'e done some laps past few days. have worked really hard on the car setup. and I think my time should get me a podium already after looking at the past times, but I still think I can go faster So I wont be submitting my time until sunday. And to add to that, I'm here to win this series, and I have full confidence I can do it. Just to finish top 3 at the end of the series id be very happy with because some of you are extremely fast. But I will be aiming for No#1 each and every race. Fish Fash's time last season of 1:29.938 in the williams is impressive, but I think I'll go close to beating that in the Red Bull.
