I've just downed the Super Mutant Behemoth at GNR. Problem is I have 270WG out of 220WG maximum. But I don't want to drop anything...

That will be a slow walk home.

A little late to the game, haven't had much time to play but on my way to level 7. Almost finished with the wasteland guide, just have to research Rivit City and go to a library. The Robo facility was fun, 50 skill in science helped. My favorite weapon so far is the flame thrower although I can't find any ammo right now. Oh and as a perk in help with the book with my donation of radiation effects on the body, I can now regrow limbs. So far I am really enjoying the game, but it did take a bit to get into it.

Got that perk from Moira too, but haven't put it to use. Some thing near GNR shot a missile at me and three limbs went red, but I could still walk OK and didn't see any mutated limbs. They all looked normal. A second missile then froze my game. Second time that happened.

I don't know when I can play next. The wife wants to go to a stupid NYE party, but I don't want to go on account I ain't feeling good. I hope I can get out of going.

I just made my wade East in hopes of heading south to Rivet City. Anyplace on the way that's worth visiting? I know the Power Armor training is near GNR, is it not? I should pop in there first I get that taken care of before heading down to RC.

No, the power armour training is not east of the river. You need to be past a certain point in the main quest when it actually dumps you there.

I didn't find Moira's perk useful at all since I need heavy doses of radiation to start limbs growing back. I guess if I was next to a toilet when my limbs get crippled, I could get some benefit out of it.

Whatever you drop will remain there.

The best perks are Education, Comprehension, Action Boy, Grim Reaper Sprint, Finesse, Strong Back, the ones where two of your attributes are boosted, and the one where it gives you a skill point in whichever area.

Yeah I totally disregarded Sneak, Melee, and Unarmed. The other perk I forgot about was fast metabolism. That's a big help. Also, make sure you do the vampire quest early and get the leader to teach you to eat bloodpacks for 20hp instead of just 1.

I agree with all except the 2 attributes+5 perks, those can be more than made up with skill books and tighter skill point distribution. My character is a Crit fiend, so I have max Luck (8 before bobblehead and Lucky 8 ball) Better Criticals (criticals do 50% more damage) Finesse (duh) and a couple more critical boosting perks I can't recall. The three skills I ignored whilst leveling were Unarmed, Melee Weapons and Barter. The first two simply aren't my play style, Barter really isn't that helpful (always pick up ammo, chems, pre-war money, and anything with 10:1 value per WG. Skills I didn't particulary care about were Big Guns, Explosives, Energy Weapons (until l regularly encountered enemies using them) and Sneak. If I made a new character I would ignore sneak, it's not as helpful as high Luck, since maybe 40% of hits are criticals anyway. If I need to sneak around I'll just use a Stealth Boy. The most important skills for me are Small Guns (almost as effective as 2 handed weapons because of the small AP consumption per shot) Repair (just keep all weapons in great shape, more damage and MUCH higher resale value) Lockpick (useful for getting valuable items) and Science (for 1337 h4x and disabling robots.) I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot, this is all from memory.

Cyborg is a great perk, Bloody Mess bored me after a while. Also, GET LEDOUX'S HOCKEY MASK (look it up) It has +25 AP effect!! That + Action boy equals 8 shots from the Plasma Pistol in VATS which is insanely awesome with GR's Sprint.

Have you guys found the prototype armor and helmet in Fort Constantine. Gives you +50 damage resistance with no agility cost like other power armor. The helmet even gives you +1 charisma!

For "power armour", it doesn't add any strength. It's the best looking power armour in the game though: the one from the original Fallout.

Is that the armor that you get with the three keys from the Shoot Them In The Head quest?

Had a fourth glitch; the broken bobbin noise would not stop. I had to reload a previous save to stop it. Good thing I save frequently. So far, that's two freezes and two repeating noises.

I wish somebody told me to keep all my Pre-war Books. I can get a 100 caps for them during one of the quests. I found a bunch at the Gibson home and sold them all to Moira, who no longer has them, of course. :grumpy: So, is there any other items I should keep before selling them for caps?

Holotags, scrap metal, blood packs, Nuka-Cola Quantum, and sugar bombs are worth hoarding. Regular Nuka-Cola is okay too: they heal as much as blood packs if you know where to stash them. You can do amazing things with mole rat meat and wonderglue if you have the taste for that sort of stuff.

I don't know if the patch corrected the awful gatling laser firing noise that fills the room randomly. It certainly didn't fix the crashing. I got back in the game a few days ago.

I noticed that Officer Gomez is on a very generic script and voice if you run into him again. Otherwise, someone else takes his place.

I haven't found a holotag yet, but now know to keep them. Thanks. Any point to keeping Pre-war Money or Metro tickets? I'm saving them all. What other items should I keep? I know to keep heavy items like Iron, Garden Gnomes, etc. for the Rock-it Launcher.

I'm keeping all the rest of the stuff you mentioned, plus all items to make bombs (tin cans, cherry bombs, etc.) and items to re-build my homemade weapons, in case I need them for repairs. I'm keeping the Bloodpacks for myself. At 20HP, it's great stuff. However, every time I go 'home' I sleep for a week and collect 5 bottles of Purified Water. I've got 50 of them. Saving them for good karma. But, when I don't them for karma, and I have plenty of bottles, I'll sell my Bloodpacks to the Vampires. For now, I'm saving them in my fridge.

Pre-war money and tickets are just barter goods. Coloured pass cards are scattered in the game, but they serve no purpose.

Here's a tip: 1000 caps to Saint Monica will forgive you of all your sins. Even if you turned Megaton into a glowing hole in the ground...

where do I get a home? Lol I need a place to keep the big stuff like Fat Boy and Missile Launchers, Flame throwers, etc (not a big fan of that, and need the room right now)

You could always keep that on a follower. Just make sure they don't die before you can take the stuff back. :indiff:

I cannot believe you have all those wonderful toys, that I don't even have, except the missile launcher, yet don't have a place to live!

Like was stated, pop a Mentas pill and wear the scientist smock and defuse the bomb. Sheriff Lucas will give you the deed to your own home in Megaton. This was the first thing I did in the game when I first arrived at Megaton. I did a speech challenge to get more caps from Lucas. Make sure you save before talking to him, in case you don't win the challenge. If you don't win, just load that save and start over.

I've been running around wildly! Quite allot of Super Mutients under my belts, Brute's, Master's, etc. Just run around kiling these guys, They are the ones with the heavy weapons, Mostly Miniguns and Missile launchers. Not sure where I grabbed my Fat-Boy.

Will do! Thanks man. Now to find a Scientist smock...

Two curiosities (glitches?):

1)I left a poop-load of stuff in a locker in my Megaton house, only to come back and find it had magically disappeared. Do I need to turn Wadsworth into a kill-bot and have him roam around outside, offing the Megaton settlers one-by-one? DON'T TOUCH MY 🤬!!!

2)At the end of the "Those!" quest, I didn't feel like bothering with the queen ant and the last nest guardian, so I launched a mini-nuke into her little hidey-hole. The framerate slowed terribly, and the "(Optional) Don't kill the queen" task showed "completed" despite the fact her body lay in ruin on the floor (satisfying). At the same time, it did not give me credit for killing all five guardians (they were in far, far worse shape than the queen...little :censored:ers). I thought maybe the game had gotten confused and given me credit for the wrong objective. When I finished the quest, it gave me credit for all tasks, and that was that. On top of that, I'm not sure if Dr. Lesko is even alive (I want my magic tonic for "not" killing the queen). After first talking to him, he ran out the door and met a couple of ants that I had been running away from. I'll have to go back and see if I can find his body.

Thats what I dont like. A friend of myin got to a point in teh story and his followers taht were to lead him or let him in somewhere left him and started running around freely, so He cannot complete the game anymore...

It sounds like a glitch. My stuff has never vanished from the house lockers. There's a fair bit in there too. :D

The Raider Blastmaster helmet gives a +5 to explosives IIRC.

Mentats work great if your character isn't already at max intelligence. Each point of INT that it adds is roughly two points of INT-affected skill. "I may not be a surgeon, but I DO HAVE MENTATS!"

Check the dead bodies of Brotherhood of Steel guys at the GNR Station, one of them should have a Fat Man. In fact, i'm pretty certain it's the one that was dead when you got there before facing the Behemoth - he's lying at the base of the central fountain.

Will do! Thanks man. Now to find a Scientist smock...

Try the side quest "Trouble on the Homefront" and look for the body of that scientist guy that the Overseer killed. Or just next time you start a new game, remember to pick it off his corpse. ;)

You were supposed to access the computer where the queen was, and shut down that tube-gizmo next to it to destroy the sample. You were also supposed to send out the signal the Dr. was talking about. It destroys all the ants in Graydisch (SP?). At least that's what I did and he offered me the Ant Might perk. Oh, and if you don't have the Scientist smock, he'll give you his. Gives you +5 Science.

I've made four trips to the CEO building next to Falls Church East and found a Mini Nuke and three Skill books. Tons of stuff there.

Also, you can find a Fat Man at the Germantown PD Station. Haven't done that quest yet, but I'm getting to it.

I didn't have to do any of that. I shot the five ant guardians to Mars and returned to the good doctor for the reward. He walked inside the queen lair to fiddle with the computer.

He won't give you his lab coat unless you specifically press him for a reward.

Are you sure you didn't leave it in the other locker in the house?

I killed the guardians then I killed the Queen. I got nowt. 👎

Hey, do you want it done right, or do you want it done right now? :D

Nah, I checked everywhere. I'm not that senile...yet.

Why did everyone (merchants) in Rivet City started shooting me? I was standing there, waiting to talk to a merchant, when all of a sudden she runs away and they all start shooting me? I did pick the lock to get in, which gave me bad karma, but other than that I have no idea what I did wrong.

I'm going to start Rivet City all over again. Saved right before I went across the bridge, so not all is lost.

Did you accidentally steal something when you pressed X to talk? That happened to me once in there. Everyone went loco because I knicked a plate that was close to the person .
