I did pick the lock to get in, which gave me bad karma, but other than that I have no idea what I did wrong.

That would be the reason. I did the same thing when I was looking for a way out. Then I found out that I didn't have to walk through there at all.

Did you accidentally steal something when you pressed X to talk? That happened to me once in there. Everyone went loco because I knicked a plate that was close to the person .

I don't think so. I may have walked to far into somebody's 'store' but I never clicked on anything. Though, I now noticed how horrible my controller is. The aim point is always moving and sometimes my character keeps walking although I'm not pushing on the stick. That's why I hate the Sony controllers. I accidentally walked into several land mines and got myself stuck in a corner more than once during my game play. Very annoying. If I can find a controller that's better, I'd buy it in a second.

Ah, OK. I'll go back to the beginning.

I watched a Scavenger and his trusty Yao Guai take down a Protectron. I went up to talk to him, and he just freaked out on me. I took out his leg with a grenade and dealt with his pet. Then I came back for him. I lost karma for blasting off his other leg, but then his body sank through the ground. :ouch:

I'm positive I didn't press X on the Protectron. He went from "my kill" to "ah ha!" in a split second.

Similar thing happened to me. Don't come to the rescue of them; they hate that. Shot a Mirerlurk attacking of the scavengers and after I killed the Mirerlurk, the scavenger starting shooting me. That's gratitude in The Wasteland for ya'.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, it could've been Sam Warrick; Scavenger/Douche bag extraordinare. Kill him on sight, next time.

I just ended an epic battle between Raiders, Slavers, and Slaves. There had to been a dozen or so Raiders ans Slavers attacking each other while a hand full of Slaves escaped beneath a bridge. Mad props to the Raider who dropped his combat shotgun when I blew off his head. 👍

Rivet City is too bloody big. On the decks outside am I missing something, because I found a couple of boxes of ammo and that was it. It seems too be holding something more.

Completed the android quest for Mr Zimmer (I fooled the old man!) and got Bryan Wilks a new home. Am now into Germantown to take on the Super Mutants. On Super Mutants, I think they are far easier to knock down than there name suggests.

I just finished Rivet City, too. What I did was went to the old man under the boat and got the proof Moira needed. I also got the password to the android to access his old info of what he was and said it to him. I then told him he can trust me with his secret and he gave me his awesome laster rifle. I can sell it for 2,100 caps! Then I sold him out anyway, to Dr. Zimmer and got my reward from him too!

I also got that chick and Diego married, and went to the ceremony, only Diego didn't show, so I filled him for him. I got good karma and a great way of assembling a lot of the 'town's folk' in one location at the same time! All it cost me was some ant pheromones.

Oh, and RC has no items at all. Only merchants. Want free stuff? Go to the CEO building. I've made four trips of premo stuff!

EDIT: Also, I bought a second schematic, and it didn't raise the DAMAGE value of my weapon any. I guess I had to make second weapon and "repair" it, or not? So, I reloaded the save and then didn't purchase it again.

No, only certain items increase damage with successive schematics. Others increase the initial condition when you build it.

The condition of my sword is still at max, and I only have the one schematic. If I build a second one, with only one schematic, I could always 'rebuild' it, can I not? For those weapons, I don't see the need to purchase or find the remaining schematics.

However, I see my 'Bottle Cap Mines' are only 351 DAMAGE and I know they go up to 501.

I wouldn't sell that gun if i were you - it does a heck of a lot of damage. It's my primary weapon now, as later in the game MF Cells become very common. I have over 1,000!

Oh it's technically a plasma rifle, but yeah whatever. :)

Oh and you won't need to worry about caps once you find Reilly in Underworld's "Chop Shop" and complete her mission. She gives you a Pip-Boy mod that gives you caps for every location you find. I've barely searched half the map and received over 1,000 caps for it.

I just finished Rivet city and wasn't near as successful in "getting stuff". Oh well. Which there was an easy way to reload to get that rifle from Zimmer but it's too late now... On to the Library to finish the guide.

You actually get the rifle from Harkness - have you tried talking to him if you sided with him?

I lied and told him it was dead giving the part for proof. 50 caps and he sent me on my way....

I finished Big Trouble in Big Town. Kinda easy when you're level 17. Head shots for everyone, yay!

You should still be ok... try visiting the doctor in the bow of the ship. It's kind of a pain to swim through, and there are a lot of traps on the way up, but it's fairly straightforward. After you talk to him, confront Harkness and tell him you'll keep his "secret." He gives you the plasma rifle as his thanks.

Yeah really... My only problem was that the townspeople kept going over mines i had set down and started shooting me!

My internet has been down at home so i cant update the game, does the update effect game saves? and are trophies retroactive?

Any tips for a Fallout 3 noob like me? I know that I should only carry good stuff, and get Nuka Cola from the machines. And I do use medicine wisely. Well, actually no, I took too many and now I'm addicted...any way of stopping this?

My inventory sort've has basic stuff: assualt rifle, Nuka Cola, a few other medicines, a knife, decent armour and some other stuff. I killed the doctor in Megaton, I knifed him without anyone noticing me, got quite a few things from that.

Maybe I can head back down there. I have already talked to the old man and received his "notes" from the first council meeting as proof of the real verified history. I have since talked with Hawkins with no mention of keeping his secret. We'll see what the old man has to say a second time. I thought about going back and doing Rivit City again, but in looking at the saved games, that puts be 3 hours back, yeah.... Probably not going to do that. This completes my Survival Guide. I was expecting much larger rewards than what I got....

Well, based on a previous post that you made, it appears as if...all that you got out of the Replicated Man Quest was 50 caps. You seemed to have missed out on A3-21's Plasma Rifle, and the Wired Reflexes Perk, both of which are pretty nice things to have and are really easy to get.

Might be worth redoing the last 3 hours?

Yep, should probably go back....

Yeah, handing over the android component was a pretty lousy ending. I was expecting there to be more -- maybe continue searching for android clues. Nope, the quest is over the moment you get your 50 caps. Pinkerton in the bow of the ship simply refuses to say more.

The same goes for searching for Dad at the beginning of the game. Everybody wants to talk to you about Dad's whereabouts, but the moment I busted into Moriarty's terminal everybody loses interest. Moriarty doesn't recognize you as the wee baby from 20 years back.

CEO building?
CEO room in the L.O.B. Enterprises.

L.O.B. Enterprises? I found a quirky pistol in there.
Yeah, that place.

Yep, should probably go back....

I would. The rifle is awesome! So is the Alien Blaster pistol found at the crash sight, but that's not a Rivet City item. It has 57 DAM rating!

I started Reilly's Rangers quest and 10 hours later I finally got to the roof of the Hospital. I then went back to Megaton, twice, to unload my booty. Tons of stuff found from Underworld to the Hospital. I also got a trophy when I hacked a Radroach with my Shishkebob.

Any tips for the big battle for me ahead?
