Tried to pair the wheel as required but game just freezes !!!!!
Any ideas how to get this going ??
Regards Mike

Sorry, but I have no idea. Best bet is to report the problem directly to SMS on their official Project CARS forum here.

Update !!,
Tried again to pair the wheel this morning and now I can pair the wheel but every input req a movement from wheel or pedals to confirm which makes playing the game impossible as the game freezes all the time .
Hope this can be fixed soon as the game seems to be the business
Regards Mike

You need the latest firmware, documented virtually at launch.........

Hello, i am havin the same problems, if move the wheel and pedal "without stop", i mean, like a crazy driver getting the wheel to way and other, the game run smoothly, if dont the game doesnt run, it looks like freezing, like a low frames...perhaps, very low...this cause the Project cars impossible to play....

Good luck for us!!!

I'm having problems with Fanatec-gear as well. The Fanatec Porsche GT3 V2 + Fanatec CSR elite pedals aren't working properly on the PS4-version. As soon as you power on the wheel, the game has HUGE lag. The PS4-controller is completely useless as well, because the game doesn't recognize the controller anymore.

The game is completely unplayable at this stage, unless I use a controller...
I have the same problem

My GT3 RS v2 is basically freezing the game. The game doesn't move ... unless I give input from my wheel. So even in the menus, nothing happens unless I am moving the wheel slightly back and forth. During a race, if I don't move the wheel, like on a straightaway, the game freezes until I move it.

I don't know what firmware I am on ... I don't have any Windows machines. I'm downloading a virtualbox VM right now, hopefully I can install the firmware from there.
Hey i am experiecing the SAME problem!!!!!! But my wheel is 911 GT2....any news about how to solve this?? Thanks pal

I finally got it to work. What a nightmare.

First, you have to add a USB Device filter in the VirtualBox preferences. I added one for the device, and got the firmware updater to recognize it, but then when the device was being updated by the software the device info changed, and it was no longer recognized.

I figured, finally, I could add a device filter with just the manufacturer name "Fanatec" and it would recognize the wheel every time.

Then I tried flashing with an XP VM. That never got past "resetting Fanatec wheel as commport". I got it to finally work in a Windows 8 VM, although the first time through it froze in the middle of "Flashing...." and I had to restart, and hold my breath.

But it's working now. No more freezing in the game. Now I just need to get settings working!
Hey, i am a PS4 owner and and i have the fanatec porsche 911 gt2...and the clubsport peddals. My gaming is also freezing like yours!!
Can you please tell me how you solve this issue?? PLEASEEEEEEE FOR GOD....

Thanks VERY much

Are you using the PS4 or PC?

Could you please tell me if the firmaware update do the 911 GT2 solve the "freeze" in game thing?
If yes, how did you do? Thanks a lot buddy

I have a GT2/G25 combo & it's fine after the 1.4 update, mind you I've only used it twice so far. The wheel was already on firmware 756 when I bought it by the way. Make sure you fire up you wheel & put it into PC Mode before you launch Project CARS, then turn off your DS4. Once in game reset the wheel settings, & then calibrate your wheel & pedals again.

Hope you get yours sorted out.

You have to update the wheel to the latest firmware, it can be done on a Mac but it's not easy. Best bet is to take your wheel to a PC at work or a friends and update that way.

Found it checked the wheel firmware as you suggested and it is at level 681 .now just need to find a pc to update with !
Cheers Mike

I got my GT2 second hand, but the firmware was already 756. I'm guessing your wheel will have the latest firmware if it's new, but I could be wrong.

My GT2 wheel works perfectly fine on my PS4 (controls and everything), but I can't seem to get the V1 clubsport pedals to respond at all? I've got it connected to the wheel. Is there something I am missing? This is very frustrating!

Go to the in-game wheel menu, reset it (triangle button). Then calibrate your weel & pedals. See if that works.

Thank you for the quick reply and suggestion VBR. Just tried it, but that still did not resolve the issue :(. I connected the pedals to my computer using the USB and it works just fine (has the latest firmware update). Gonna find myself another cable to connect it to the wheel and see if that may be the issue. But meanwhile, do you have any other clues as to what the issue could be? Again, the wheel works perfectly fine, just not the pedals.

VBR
@GBDiaz - Sorry mate, I have no idea.

:(
Got the pedals working! It ended up being the cable so I'm happy about that. Even though the wheel works now with the update, would you be able to recommend some wheel settings? It feels like the controls could be a little better or maybe I've just got to get used to it. I just feel like the wheel doesn't turn as good as it should.

I just updated firmware to 756 on fanatec gt2 and no freezing at all , game works perfectly just don't calibrate pedals or you lose r1 and r2 function
I do not have sure which version is installed on the wheel. Where and how do i check this? And are you using the wheel on the PS4 right?

Thanks.
