Bad news, at isr forums someone claims IGN said this on twitter:
We'll have the exclusive announcement and first look at a new product for Xbox 360 this Friday at 9am PST.

I personally can't find that quote on twitter but I'm not too familiar with this site. I was searching here: http://twitter.com/#!/IGN

This probably why we not hearing anything substantial. IGN paid Thomas for an exclusive....?

That was posted last week, and would have been applicable to last friday. The reason why we havent heard anything is probably that Forza's presentation was pushed back.

Look hold on guys, your forgetting something...
The Forza4 "Under The Stars" 4 Hour Event is on tonight 8-12pm.

I personally feel they will have held back maybe a surprise or too for added impact and that evening. Could this be the shifter and maybe here details of the wheel etc will be announced?

All the top media and community people will be invited and as we know ISR are attending.

Now the question is what about this darn shifter and what are the chances of FM4 being the first ever console game to support a 7 speed H-Shifter and also utilising a handbrake?

A month ago I'd say no, but now I think why not. If they are making such a high-end branded wheel, it forza 4 should support its every function.

I take it no website is streaming the event live?

Oh btw, if TM can get the shifter out shortly then I'd suspect both dirt3 / gt5 would get patched immediately to support it. Of course, there is no car with a stick for 7sp manual transmission out right now til the new porche so its not really all that big of a deal really... Just handy for future use

So then how many wheels have we got. (including the dildo thing).

It's around 4 I believe.

Right 4 rigs. Jezza,May and the hamster with special guest American stig all on stage causing chaos.

I can dream.

Found the NEW Fanatec wheel, is that the new CSS and CSH? :) Shiny wheel... And that handbreak is big!

Edit: Video was already posted LOL! Be sure to post some reviews when you guys get your FM4 wheels :) Now i'm starting to understand why some people have 2 different wheels :D

Debuting today at E3 2011 in the Forza Motorsport 4 section of the Xbox booth are two new Forza Motorsport-branded wheel coming from Fanatec: the “Forza Motorsport CSR” and the “Forza Motorsport CSR Elite.” Both wheels are designed to offer an incredible driving experience for Forza Motorsport 4 fans. Here are a few highlights of both wheels:

CSR:
Improved force feedback electronics and mechanics make the wheel stronger and faster
Metal CSR shifter set and large metal paddle shifters make shifting gears easier than ever
Lightweight aluminum wheel rim with Alcantara inserts allow faster, more responsive turns

CSR-Elite:
Wheel base fully made of metal with carbon fiber and Alcantara wheel rim
DirectSensor™ technology with sensor mounted directly on the steering axis. This avoids all the interference and performance loss you get from the belt/gear drive found on traditional motor-mounted sensor systems
Dual force feedback motors with 120Watt (silent big fan cooling) and very low cogging force to avoid “notchy” feeling

Pricing, availability, and additional details for both the Forza Motorsport CSR and the CSR Elite will be announced later this year.

While the CSR line of Fanatec wheels are meant for the serious racers in the Forza universe, we’ve got the more casual fans covered as well. Also arriving later this year is the upcoming “Wireless Speed Wheel” for Xbox 360. As the name implies, the Speed Wheel is a completely wireless controller designed for intuitive control and precise steering. The U-shaped design features standard controller buttons and haptic feedback with rumble. You don’t need Kinect to play with the Speed Wheel—it uses the same wireless signal as a standard Xbox wireless controller and is a good option for casual racers who value pure fun over setting lap records. The Wireless Speed Wheel will be available for $59.99 (U.S. ERP) and will ship to retailers worldwide beginning September 26, 2011.

Finally you can also expect new wheels from Madcatz that will also be compatible with Forza 4, including a force-feedback model that will cost $230 and a less expensive option as well.

Whoa, $230 for the mad catz FFB wheel. Hm, I guess they have to mark it up since its hitting stores. Doesn't sound like a very good deal though

Well damn, hows that For good going. Guess I was spot on again about the dual motors, lol.

However whats interesting is that the T500 uses 1x65 watt motor, this Elite uses we should assume 2x 60watt for it's 120 watt.

Wow Thomas, I like it......
Vroom Vroom

One thing Thomas I would say that would be a very smart move is to make your Elite wheel work with T500 RS pedals with a new adapter. Their will be owners of course with T500 that would probably really want this new wheel but not necessarily have or want to buy CSP.
Price wise damn with all metal, dual motors, new sensor tech.

I'm going to say this for the wheel alone looks like £300/€350 as a possibility.

Mr Latte I thought they meant the fan was 120 watt. Their wording in that quote simply sucks

Once again we're being fed confusing, stank tidbits!

Yeah I know but no way does a fan use 120 watts.
Unless they should be referring to a 120mm fan.

I wonder why the whole wheel is no longer wrapped in that alcantra coating? Seems like it will now share T500rs weakness whereas its super easy to scratch with your nails when the wheel is spinning around all fast (unless you wearing gloves)

There is not much that I hate more than piano black finish....

But I assume they didn't wrap the entire wheel with alacantra because 1 its extremely expensive and 2 most of the time your hands are going to be at the positions where they left it.

The Elite version will cost 700 bucks. Dan just said it on Gamespot.

700! Geez! I wanted to get this wheel and figured it would be about the same price as thrustmaster but at 700 I don't think i'll be able to afford it. That better include clubsport pedals and the new css.

I agree! But damn $700??? LOL!

I am pretty sure that includes pedals and adapters. Before the t500rs, the 600 price point was considered ludicrous. The wheel is a direct competitor with the t500rs so it would make sense that it is priced competitively.

Wait, so that was just what was to be shown yesterday. I guess the 8:00 is right for the Under the Stars thing.

This is from Thomas's blog

I am proud to announce that Fanatec is making the official racing wheels for Forza Motorsport.

http://www.forzamotorsport.net/en-us/Forza4_Wheels/

We will expand our product range with several new products of our new CSR line of products:

Forza Motorsport CSR wheel
Forza Motorsport CSR Elite wheel
CSR shifter set
CSR pedals
CSR Elite pedals
The CSR line is positioned between the Porsche wheel line and the ClubSport line of products.

Both new wheels are multiplatform and come with improved force feedback technology.

The CSR Elite wheel has an entirely new base which will bring realism to a new level as the full metal construction allow extremely precise FF sensations and the new DirectSensor technology will allow a much more precise steering control than on any other wheel which has the sensor mounted on the motor.

It is similar to digital cameras. You can have 12 MP but it means nothing if the lense is no good. If the sensor is monted on the motor you will have the slack and interference of the whole belt drive system which destroys any high resolution you might have.

The CSR shifter is made with a knob fully made of metal but unlike the Clubsport shifter it is not fully made of metal. We made it less noisy as well.

All new products will be available by the end of the year although development is not finihed yet so I cannot give an exact date.

We will keep our fully modular ordering system so the pricing depends on the options you take. It will range between 320 and 700 for a set with pedals.

More info to come...

Interesting. Seems like the CSR Elite wheel will not be $700 alone. That makes it a bit better. I hope we get more info soon! Pictures and prices would be nice.
