So my question...if it is a different "line" of product, will the CSR Elite wheel be compatible with my CSPs on a 360? PS3? Will the CSRs be multi-platform compatible? To include PC?

I say the products will be available by early next year. Give them more time to do better QA so that the first batch will not have as much issues as in the past.

These new wheels, especially the Elite, look very nice. Since Fanatec has something even higher end in the pipeline, I'm drooling.

I hope the official Forza branded wheels get decent production volume and retail presence. I think it's a major missed opportunity if these are exclusively direct order.

Thomas already said Fanatec doesn't want to come back to standard distribution (with retailers). He said direct sales to customers was allowing the best quality/price ratio.

Then the CSR is a complete Forza branded line of products (shifter, pedals)?

They have focused in a determined part of the market, which I think is not too big, anyway they will sell a lot.

Will we see a Clubsport Wheel anytime soon?, I hope so. He asked for advices in his blog and appart of that there had not been enough time, this is not what most of people asked for (including me).

what i really want to know about the elite wheel is if it has that life like fast spin that the t500rs has, if it hasnt got it then i dont think i will be interested, really hope it has because you cant beat the one wheel for all platforms feature.

... but, where is the pomised Clubsport Shifter???

Q3 that was promised to make an appearance.

Don't think it was ever said it would show here.

$230 for Madcatz bwaahahahahahaha. What a J O K E. Thankfully, I have my GT2. And cannot wait for the csr elite. Yea baby.....

And thankfully, I was wrong about the shifter. Whew. As for the price though, I was pretty much spot on. Not so good, lol.

So we have:

* The clubsport line i.e. pedals, shifter
* CSR line i.e. wheel, pedals, shifter set and (?) handbrake (?)
* CSR elite line i.e. pedals, wheel

I guess the CSR line shifter won't be an all-in-one solution.

My misstake. Where is it then? Has e3 finished.
That's what I regret. I've been waiting for the CSS since the project was started. After a year I thought it would be available for past Xmas, and it wasn't.

I was happy when discovering this topic that it would finally be shown at E3. I followed all E3 expecting to see it, and nothing. Instead, new unexpected wheels... (and CSHB).

I'm even a bit angered that those wheels were secretly been designed while people waiting on the CSS for a very long time now thought Thomas was focusing on it. And now I discover it may have been delayed because of those wheels...

Not that I'm not happy to hear about a new and higher range wheel base. But I feel dishonest the lack of informations about all this, especially to everybody waiting for the CSS for months now. Not what Fanatec used to do in the past :grumpy:

The HB we saw attached to this E3 setup isn't part of the CSR line. It looks exactly as the draft of the CSHB prototype Thomas has shown us a few weeks ago:

So, it's part of the clubsport line of products.

I'm just waiting to see how the Clubsport Shifter looks like. I was planning to get the GT3RS Clubsport Edition with a set of shifters, but if the CSS looks nice, then I'd wait for it and order everything together. We've seen every Fanatec products except for this... What's going on?

Did I just pass through a black hole? In the universe I was just in Fanatec was never on time with anything and couldn't offer credible information on any of their products, future nor present. :)

Well good thing I ordered the regular shifters from Fanatec, with no mention so far of the CSS I would have had nothing to use until the CSS is released.

Well maybe some word today or tomorrow will come down.

... in May Thomas was announcing "The ClubSport shifter will be announced soon at a price of 99,95 so we want to keep enough distance between the two products. "

Where is CSS, Thomas sorry - your marketing is terrible.

From Thomas's Blog: http://www.911wheel.de/?q=node/5907

The CSR line is positioned between the Porsche wheel line and the ClubSport line of products.

Both new wheels are multiplatform and come with improved force feedback technology.

The CSR Elite wheel has an entirely new base which will bring realism to a new level as the full metal construction allow extremely precise FF sensations and the new DirectSensor technology will allow a much more precise steering control than on any other wheel which has the sensor mounted on the motor.

It is similar to digital cameras. You can have 12 MP but it means nothing if the lense is no good. If the sensor is monted on the motor you will have the slack and interference of the whole belt drive system which destroys any high resolution you might have.

The CSR shifter is made with a knob fully made of metal but unlike the Clubsport shifter it is not fully made of metal. We made it less noisy as well.

All new products will be available by the end of the year although development is not finihed yet so I cannot give an exact date.

We will keep our fully modular ordering system so the pricing depends on the options you take. It will range between 320 and 700 for a set with pedals.

More info to come...

Thanks much, that answers the multiplatform question, and I guess the "modularity" statement hints that I can keep my CSPs and just order an Elite CSR wheel.

Strange the Elite is part of the CSR range really, does this mean there will be a Clubsport wheel in the future??

Will be interesting to hear how the CSR wheel compares to my GT2 but i imagine the only really upgrade would be to the Elite version - lets hope it bolts to a WSP still ;)

Now to think of it, both of those new wheel rims lack the nice red strip that helps orient drivers in a spin. for that higher pricepoint I would expect a nice red strip

All these fanatec wheels choices are starting to mess with what kind of set up I want to get. I want the best wheel/pedal/shifter combo I can get. Doesn't seem quite clear to me what is the best option.
