Fanatec's new shifter should sell very well indeed, for it's price point and considering market conditions. The market is leading many to downgrade their hobby plans I was reading.

I have not heard any rumor, are you worried about Xbox next console?
Because for PlayStation 4, since the CSR-E is driven from the G25 profile, if the G25 works with Playstation 4, then the CSR-E will work as well. It would be very surprising if G25 is not supported on the next playstation.
Hopefully we will get a Fanatec profile in the Playstation 4 as we do for PC.

So far Sony has stated that the new console will not be backwards compatible with current controllers. it`s anyone guess if that includes wheels.
It seems to be the same situation for the Xbox so i think we will not see the CSR Elite come back in it`s present form. only time will tell.
If it was me i would be concentrating on building a new version for the next gen consoles.

Haha, good for you though! BTW, we're all patiently waiting for some T500 info in the mod thread, if you have some time. All the stuff I have access to is a couple years old from David Tucker.

Yes, many many people are currently using the shifter of their choosing with their wheel. :)

As for the T500 stuff. I really haven't had much time as of late given my current projects and upcoming products.

Yeah we need some insight from a few techie owners as to the T500's pronounced Step Test fade. One decent step, then two stumbles? Just check the RPMs in Magic's graph (to which I added some labels). See the green trace.

I'm sorry, but I really don't have time for it... I have several things in development (not Fanatec-centric), orders to fill, as well as a real job. :)

Edit: For now, I have to be content with the little time I have to actually USE my wheel, let alone fiddle with it.

On that note... I did have the pleasure of testing out both a Bodnar wheel and an ECCI 7000 this week at a place I am doing some contract work for... Both where excellent in their own ways.

I also went to Dream Racing in Las Vegas. They use all T500's in their custom simulators. However, FFB was turned way down.

Ok, gotta run, many orders to fill lol

Well you should find the time to at least do a little write-up with your impressions of the Bodnar and the ECCI. I mean...you absolutely MUST! The future of all mankind is resting on your shoulders!

You lucky bastage, heh. :gtpflag:

"Leo Bodnar wheel does not exist",

"Never think that such a wheel will be on the market because if so I will be obsessed to have one"

It does not work, I want to know, I want to believe !!! :)

My CSW is loosing its alignment (IE center is shifting) after about 45 minutes of play. At first I thought it was only with GT5 on the PS3 but after playing rF2 for a while I noticed it again. Is this belt slippage? I have had my belts slip before but this never caused the wheel to loose its center position. Any idea what could cause this?

I rather try to fix it myself before I send it into Fanatec. Should I tighten the belts?

The red pulley uses two clamping screws (like fore the magnets on the CSPs) to hold it into place. It could be that for some reason it's not holding the pulley in place.

It definitely isn't belt slippage as the 'code wheel' is attached to the red pulley, which normally can not be moved unless those two screws come loose. In other words, if it doesn't move on the steering axle it can never go out of alignment.

It's not the belts. The encoder is off you will have to send it in.

The optical encoder isn't off, maybe loose.
The screwed into place with (if I remember correctly) 4 screws on the limiter side. If that thing came loose it's because it got stuck behind something and then the wheel would not work anymore at all.
Maybe the optical encoder like you say is a bit loose, and due to FFB rattles it slightly goes off center in small steps. Tightening the screw(s) or remove it to add some loctite will be enough.

In any case it's a loose screw left or right that causes it. Nothing that should cause a mass panic. lol

Thanks. I will look into that and report back.

I think we are having an English translation issue. When I say off I mean out of alignment or malfunctioning not literally turned off or not mounted.

It's not a translation issue, it's a matter of interpretation issue.
Besides I believe your off is just a short for offset, while I thought you meant broken off or snapped off.

Ah well, as long the person with the issue got the message. ;)

CSS Feature Preview #4

Congratulations, most of you precisely guessed what's behind the previously showcased feature, good job!
This week, we are happy to present yet another beneficial characteristic of our ClubSport Shifter.
Thanks to its design, you will be able to change the knobs according to your own personal taste. Not only will you be able to give your shifter the perfect look but you will also be able to customize it to your exact driving preferences.

Which knob's your favorite?

.......My own

ya it will not be backward compatible with PS3 'hand controllers' that's a long way from being not compatible with 'older' wheels lol

LOL

Thomas inofficially confirmed sequential mode!
"What would a ClubSport product without customizing options? Exactly, it would not be worth the ClubSport brand.

Therefore you can easily exchange the shifter knobs and use the style you like. A longer one for sequential fun or a round one which fits well into your hands. carbon, öeather, metal and whatever colour you want.

There will be a few options directly from us but the CSS is compatible to most automotive shifter knobs so the options are almost endless.

What is your favourite style? (Count the left shifter without knob as #1)"

Where did he say that it would have sequential? All I read was some guessed right...
But their were two main answers
1. Push down for reverse and 7
2. Sequential
Did I miss it somewhere else?
Thanks

He didn't confirm it, but hinted to it have a sequential mode. The main reason is that you took the news from facebook page while simracer took it from Thomas' blog and both have different text.

This does look to be a very substantial unit.

Thomas has always loved his little teasers...
Pay attention to the markings on the "R" & "7" gears.

"Dual Markings" what could that mean?
So sequential and possibly that those gears require lifting/pushing.

@Mr Latte

Thomas already said that it means you need to push down.

Yup, and I hate it on the seventh gear. A useless time consuming feature, even if the thing would be used as an overdrive in a Porsche. Especially since overdrives become real gears in the course of time. Besides my dad's Opel Kadett didn't need to pull up for its fifth gear overdrive either, only for reverse. So if we managed in those dags, I don't see the use for it now.
That said, the big reason for hating this is... shifting up a gear too high doesn't blow up an engine, but shifting from sixth to fifth when wanting to go to seventh but forgetting to push down (or not pushing down hard enough) does blow up an engine.

So I hope you can disable this stupid feature, honestly,

1. Replacable shaft with different lengths
2. Officially announce sequential mode
