All this talk of O-rings got me to pull the formula rim of mine to find it has an O-ring inside the quick release, but I suppose all of the rims made now have that.

Looks like I managed to buy one of, if not THE last one for a while.

Another thing re: the o-rings - you guys could easily have one installed if you have a loose wheel. Any machine shop should be able to source you a ring and cut the groove for a few bucks if you disassemble the QR and bring them just the part that needs machined.

My CSW is making a noise!

I can't identify what exactly is causing it, but it is in the base when the shaft is being turned. I hear it making a clicking sound every quarter to half turn. It doesn't affect operation at all, but it is pronounced.

Could anyone point me in the right direction for a how to on button mapping the CSW for AC on PC please? I had looked but couldn't find one, probably very simple.
Thanks

Has anyone managed to get both the CS Shifter and the CS handbrake mounted on the CSL seat? I'm looking to order one soon but I want to make sure I'd be able to mount it properly before I do.

EDIT: Just got a reply from Fanatec, "I am sorry for the delayed reply. Unfortunately there is no possibility at the moment, to mount the CS Handbrake to the CSL Seat." Durrr. That's annoying.

With a little imagination you can mount anything you want to it. Just sit down and think for a bit, get out a drawing pencil and pad and think it out. That is how all my projects come to fruition. :)

It is of course easy for persons who either have such opportunities or the money. I don't know about @Token, but I don't have neither of them, so I'm holding off buying HB at the moment. Of course it is easy to mount it using few pieces of wood, but it certainly wouldn't look good with CSL seat.

The real wheel is brown, hence this one is brown. Looks great.

Use leather dye and dye it any color you want, its easy.

Perhaps someday in the future, i love the 918 RSR like it is now.

May black or (ferrari) RED :D

LOL my friend, you don't need a lot of money. All you need is imagination. I save a ton of money doing things myself and no, I don't make things with ugly wood blocks. :D

Take a stroll through Home Depot with your sketch, you'll be surprised what you come up with. Believe in yourself. :)

You may have saved a ton of money doing things yourself (if you have the machine tools or know someone who does) but there's still probably nothing cheap about your setup.
To me, a lot of money in this case means spending as much or even more on just a mount than a device itself. That will probably be the case if you want to mount it beside your shifter like in a rally car and also make it suit with your CSL Seat style (would be alot easier to have a 8020 cockpit). It probably needs to be fastened in two places due to a leverage. (even original shifter mount comes loose very often even when using their plastic shifters)

I have to agree with Mayaman, a few nuts and bolts and a couple of brackets should do the job easily for a few euro/pounds.
You just need to think about it and use some imagination

Yup, literally a few dollars, a simple hand drill, some elbow grease and you habe what you need. I already see in my head where to mount a shifter. Well, cant help further, OP must habe the want. :)

Didn't you just get that wheel recently?

I know It would be that simple if I'd want it to mount on my side, like in regular car, but that's not the case. It just can't be mounted only to a shifter or shifter holder because I don't see it being sturdy enough and that is the main reason why I don't see that this very simple solution would work perfectly. If even using those plastic shifters makes shifter holder come loose very often, then HB would make it come loose even quicker due to a greater leverage. Bad thing is that shifter holder needs to be easily removable due to shifter type used - not very good to use H-shifter up high next to wheel where you'd usually use your sequential shifter. So, can't use thread lock to better secure those bolts. So it is all about sturdiness, not me just saying that it is impossible to do easily or cheaply. Of course you can.

Yes, just a couple of weeks ago. It still makes the noise, but it operates normally. I'm not sure if I should be worried or not.
