I have a code for the ClubSport wheel base V2 US edition for anyone that wants it, I don't plan on purchasing it at this time. Maybe at a later date next year when Forza Motorsport 6 releases.
DM me? I could use it.I have a code for the ClubSport wheel base V2 US edition for anyone that wants it, I don't plan on purchasing it at this time. Maybe at a later date next year when Forza Motorsport 6 releases.
I'm the same, I want to see my wheel and shifter etc.
Adds to the feeling as well as just protecting the suade / Alcantara. I've seen plenty of people with suade steering wheels in their cars and they are ruined from the oils in their hands.I dont get it why you would use gloves anyway? I have an Porsche GT2 wheel with Alcantara that is 3 1/2 years old. Never used gloves. Still looks fine to me. It was in perfect condition until 2 months ago as a afriend came to me and played. He gets sweaten hands when he drives. So the Alcantara feels a bit hard now. But what gives... I would feel so stupid, sitting with gloves in front of the screen. Would just miss a helmet, shoes, a racing suit and a belt and I am ready for asylum
I ordered the F1 Rim together with the V2 base because the BMW rim is too heavy and the Hub + wheel gets extreme expensive in combo with V2. So the F1 rim was the cheapest way.
Here's a question...You said the motors have been replaced previously right? Did the previous owner test the wheel when he replaced the motors or did he simply replace the motors and call it done before selling it to you?
Here's why I'm asking. Based on the video you posted the wheel never enters into the firmware screen on the LED on the wheel. It just half calibrates before it's locked. That happened to me exactly in the same fashion. I replaced the motors myself from a replacement set sent by Fanatec.
The issue is the replacement motors that were installed are wired in reverse. The manual that Fanatec CS emails you specifically tells the owner this may happen, so they want you to check the wires against the original motors. I did not do so and was perplexed for about 5 minutes until I read the entire manual carefully =) It's an easy wire reversal, but if you're not comfortable changing the pins out of the white plug you might want to ask for help.
Hope this helps.
To each their own really.
One of the reasons I bought any of my gear was based on how it looks and how it makes me feel using them and looking at them.
I wouldn't need a £300 wheel rim with leds on the rim with a rift because I simply would not be able to see them lol.
I'm sure it is great for immersion but personally it's not for me. I don't like wearing gloves thats why I bought the 918 RSR, and I hate wearing glasses thats why I wear contacts 90% of the time. I will probably get laser surgery soon too.
So I definitely wouldn't enjoy wearing a headset/goggles.
I'm happy that others enjoy it though 👍
I'm the same, I want to see my wheel and shifter etc. Plus I am quite susceptible to getting sea sick so something like that will set me off I'm sure.
That sure sounds pretty compelling, I'd like to at least try it I suppose, don't know where I could though. I am actually at the stage where I'm looking at buying triple screens so yeah, I'd be willing to at least demo it.All I can really say to you guys, is you MUST try it before you dismiss it.
I had triple screens, dual DSD panels on my CSW, SLI-Pro, a 7" USB screen for iSpeed, and my triple screens. I thought it would suck not being able to see all my cool stuff like shifters and screens and LED's, but after just a couple of hours in the Rift (DK1) I knew I could never go back. So now my monitors function as productivity tools, my SLI sits in the drawer, and I'm loving racing more than ever before.
I was just like you guys, wanted to see all my cool gadgets that I spent my hard-earned cash on. I even got sick a couple times on airplanes (granted it was during C-130 combat landings) but after a short time I was fully accustomed to the Rift.
Try it before you dismiss it, find someone local from these forums or other forums or wherever you can and TRY it. You owe it to yourself.

I suppose muscle memory would mean allow you to use the shifter without looking at it, I don't exactly look at my shifter when driving.
When is the consumer release?
They have to be registered to the Fanatec webshop before you can transfer it to them.Do you guys just give the other person the code or do you use the Transfer Code functionality on fanatec's webshop? I've been trying to give someone here the code I have for US region, but the webshop says their email doesn't exist.
can you send me some pics how you did thatand would stepping on the brake hard not break something?

I do not think it is released officially yet, they have said 2014 though so I hope there will be news soon.
I am waiting for reviews of the Accuforce before deciding between that wheel or the CSW v2.
In addition of course Fanatec have hinted about a direct drive wheel as well but it depends how long I can wait, got to save money and that takes some time.
Will the Accuforce also cost 500 bucks? I guess it is a servo wheel?
Problem solved!Just got my v2 base
First thing I did was updating the firmware.
But I can't get it in PS3 mode. It should be pressing SELECT + CIRCLE after calibration.

Beta test requires an $800 deposit IIRC. i applied but have not gotten any messages since.
Intresting read about the next gen compatibility

1) Thomas - can you provide us with alternative firmware for our existing wheels that make them mimic a T500 instead of G27? (Or are your hands tied whilst trying to negotiate a full license with Sony?)
