I have a code for the ClubSport wheel base V2 US edition for anyone that wants it, I don't plan on purchasing it at this time. Maybe at a later date next year when Forza Motorsport 6 releases.

I dont get it why you would use gloves anyway? I have an Porsche GT2 wheel with Alcantara that is 3 1/2 years old. Never used gloves. Still looks fine to me. It was in perfect condition until 2 months ago as a afriend came to me and played. He gets sweaten hands when he drives. So the Alcantara feels a bit hard now. But what gives... I would feel so stupid, sitting with gloves in front of the screen. Would just miss a helmet, shoes, a racing suit and a belt and I am ready for asylum :D

I ordered the F1 Rim together with the V2 base because the BMW rim is too heavy and the Hub + wheel gets extreme expensive in combo with V2. So the F1 rim was the cheapest way.

Adds to the feeling as well as just protecting the suade / Alcantara. I've seen plenty of people with suade steering wheels in their cars and they are ruined from the oils in their hands.

Some want to be as close from the real thing. Last time I drove a Lamborghini I had to wear a helmet and it changes a lot sound a field of view. So I can understand that you want to practice with gloves.

Here's a question...You said the motors have been replaced previously right? Did the previous owner test the wheel when he replaced the motors or did he simply replace the motors and call it done before selling it to you?

Here's why I'm asking. Based on the video you posted the wheel never enters into the firmware screen on the LED on the wheel. It just half calibrates before it's locked. That happened to me exactly in the same fashion. I replaced the motors myself from a replacement set sent by Fanatec.

The issue is the replacement motors that were installed are wired in reverse. The manual that Fanatec CS emails you specifically tells the owner this may happen, so they want you to check the wires against the original motors. I did not do so and was perplexed for about 5 minutes until I read the entire manual carefully =) It's an easy wire reversal, but if you're not comfortable changing the pins out of the white plug you might want to ask for help.

Hope this helps.

I ended up fixing it, although I'm not exactly sure what happened. The guy I bought it from is a WCS driver on iRacing and he used it quite a bit after replacing the motors (for at least 4 or 5 months, I remember seeing his post about replacing the motors.) The only issue was that there was a batch of motors that were sent out that had the polarity reversed, so you had to re-pin the wires or your FFB would work in reverse. In iRacing you can simply set reverse FFB in the ini file, so it's not a big deal, he never bothered opening it back up to change it since he only plays iRacing. But it worked just fine, so I get it, and it's like this, but I can't figure out why.

He sent me the instructions that Fanatec sent him to reverse the polarity and I followed them and did it (very easy, just moving wires around) and booted it back up and it worked perfectly.

Why did reversing the polarity fix it when it had been working fine before? No clue, but I'm happy it's fixed.

To each their own really.
One of the reasons I bought any of my gear was based on how it looks and how it makes me feel using them and looking at them.
I wouldn't need a £300 wheel rim with leds on the rim with a rift because I simply would not be able to see them lol.
I'm sure it is great for immersion but personally it's not for me. I don't like wearing gloves thats why I bought the 918 RSR, and I hate wearing glasses thats why I wear contacts 90% of the time. I will probably get laser surgery soon too.
So I definitely wouldn't enjoy wearing a headset/goggles.
I'm happy that others enjoy it though 👍

I'm the same, I want to see my wheel and shifter etc. Plus I am quite susceptible to getting sea sick so something like that will set me off I'm sure.

All I can really say to you guys, is you MUST try it before you dismiss it.

I had triple screens, dual DSD panels on my CSW, SLI-Pro, a 7" USB screen for iSpeed, and my triple screens. I thought it would suck not being able to see all my cool stuff like shifters and screens and LED's, but after just a couple of hours in the Rift (DK1) I knew I could never go back. So now my monitors function as productivity tools, my SLI sits in the drawer, and I'm loving racing more than ever before.

I was just like you guys, wanted to see all my cool gadgets that I spent my hard-earned cash on. I even got sick a couple times on airplanes (granted it was during C-130 combat landings) but after a short time I was fully accustomed to the Rift.

Try it before you dismiss it, find someone local from these forums or other forums or wherever you can and TRY it. You owe it to yourself.

That sure sounds pretty compelling, I'd like to at least try it I suppose, don't know where I could though. I am actually at the stage where I'm looking at buying triple screens so yeah, I'd be willing to at least demo it.

I suppose muscle memory would mean allow you to use the shifter without looking at it, I don't exactly look at my shifter when driving.

When is the consumer release?

Consumer release? All they have really said is "months not years" which could mean anything from 1-23 months from now. But typically when companies say that, they mean "within a year." So I'd say Q3 or Q4 of 2015 for the consumer version. Pricing should be ~$300.

Yeah, you can use a shifter no problem, same with buttons on your wheel. Buttons on a button box are more of a challenge, but it can still be done as long as you have the box mounted close to your wheel. I ended up getting rid of my DSD button panels just because it was WAY more than I needed once I discovered Voice Attack. So now I do simple functions with my wheel buttons/encoders and do complex things with my voice.

i hear that people that are having headaches alot are advised not to use a rift or active 3d glasses so it's not for me. :boggled: cuz i happen to have light headaches alot. :odd: i have a pair of panasonic 3d glasses i never used.

also..ahmm i want to be able to see my environment at home (not my wife, gege...:mischievous:)

The ozone is a great cockpit for the price 👍 especially now that i recently found out how easy it is to reverse mount the CS V2 Pedals (no modding needed bolted right up using existing bolts on the cockpit)

can you send me some pics how you did that  and would stepping on the brake hard not break something? :boggled:

I do not think it is released officially yet, they have said 2014 though so I hope there will be news soon.

I am waiting for reviews of the Accuforce before deciding between that wheel or the CSW v2.

In addition of course Fanatec have hinted about a direct drive wheel as well but it depends how long I can wait, got to save money and that takes some time.

Do you guys just give the other person the code or do you use the Transfer Code functionality on fanatec's webshop? I've been trying to give someone here the code I have for US region, but the webshop says their email doesn't exist.

They have to be registered to the Fanatec webshop before you can transfer it to them.

I used the hole and bolt from the bar for the pedal tray and went straight through the holes for the Clubsport pedals. No drilling or hardware needed, once it is tightened down the rig holds the pedals firmly in place. I recently also put the pedal tray back in as well but don't have pics of that

I dont have any holes on the side :(:( !! i guess i got a different type Ozone

i do have holes on the front side..:boggled: thx for the help though.... :indiff:

Will the Accuforce also cost 500 bucks? I guess it is a servo wheel?

Just got my v2 base :)
First thing I did was updating the firmware.
But I can't get it in PS3 mode. It should be pressing SELECT + CIRCLE after calibration.

Problem solved!
I was using a longer USB cable to work it through my Playseat frame. Same cable I always used with my V1. For some reason it doesn't work on the V2.
Connected a shorter cable and worked like a charm :)
On my computer with the longer cable, it would only work on the USB 3 port, not USB 2.

He meant $800 is far too low as a total product price for a Direct Drive wheel, and it definitely is. But a beta tester deposit is not the same as final product price. Expectation, as far as I'm aware is still "under $2000" for the Accuforce in a "ready to use" package.

I tried giving away my US invitation code to a member here (fortbos), but the webshop won't let me. Does anyone else want it? It expires in 2 days.

Yeah, interesting indeed. The summary as I see it is:

A) xbox one - as we've always known/expected you have to get the Microsoft license/chip to make a peripheral work

B) ps4 - this security chip is needed for full system menu/share functionality but not for 'standard' control functions in game (e.g. T500. Works in driveclub but you use a DS4 to launch the game).

This leads me onto the following questions for the community:

1) Thomas - can you provide us with alternative firmware for our existing wheels that make them mimic a T500 instead of G27? (Or are your hands tied whilst trying to negotiate a full license with Sony?)

2) does anyone have the technical know-how to alter existing firmware files to do this for us? (I'm guessing there will be some internal knowledge of the firmware required, e.g. File copybook/layout but I figured it's worth asking!)

Cheers

You don´t really think Fanatec would do that, do you? When they can sell us new and expensive products, why the hell would Fanatec make an Firmware for the older wheels that will work with the PS4?

They will say that it is illegal if they would do that and thats it. Buy the new expensive wheels and use them. Until the PS5. Then of course you need new ones again. Capitalism at its finest. And I don´t mean specifically Fanatec here.

We are not the ones to set the rules ;)

And it cost us a lot of money that we don't have next gen wheels up to now.

I would prefer to make the people buy a new wheel because they are convinced that they get a much better performance. This will actually be the case and therefore I hope that the big majority of customers will be happy with their much advanced next gen wheel.
