Its been about a little over a month since receiving my CSW V2, wanting to test the full potential and get into iracing and other PC sims, i decided to build a PC which turned into buying, upgrading and rearranging my whole room/man cave setup -_- spent to much money these past couple months lol.

Before

I now have a dedicated gaming area :) its so much nicer not having to move around the obutto. Still working on getting the triple screen mount and a better graphics card. I ended up going with AOC I2769vm two used and one new.

yeah... the wait is terrible. I also have an obutto ozone but your keyboard/mouse tray bar looks very different on the left.

its the keyboard tray from the revolution, i lost the original along time ago during a move. Revolution keyboard tray is a lot better as far as the positions you can move it in. but it does sag on the end that is not supported, so i use my custom handbrake/arm rest to rest the unsupported side of the keyboard tray.

EU tracking email received

I am happy for you.
When did you do the order? I did the order on 04/11/2014 but I have not received any tracking mail yet. What did you ordered? Only the CSW2?

I made the order of CSW2 + GT wheel with Universal Hub. I just saw on the web that they do not have the ring GT until March. I hope the problem will not be this, I hope they have reserved my GT wheel since november!

Regards

23/10/2014 for CSW2. Then approx a week later the Carbon Formula Rim which has been waiting patiently for the base. It's gonna be a Fun tuesday. Good luck with your GT Rim

I posted this in September, before it was made clear that you could extend your invite code expiry date.

I want to order it, but if it's not compatible with Xbox one, then I won't use it.
Code expires on the 24th, if I buy now, delivery won't be until November sometime at the earliest.
Come on Thomas, settle the compatibility rumours and speculation and just tell us what console you've done a deal with.

I got this reply from Thomas

I cannot tell you at the moment. But I am sure you won't regret your purchase ;)

I never imagined that I would still be waiting for a rim for this long after buying the base, still with no info about release. At least it's a 2 year warranty in the UK.

So Thomas, I do regret my purchase, with the exchange rate as it is at the moment, the €100 discount then, now equates to approx 50 UK pounds more (@€600) than what I had payed back then, a small price to pay for a full warranty.

Ugh-ohh dear:nervous:
Tried loads of different combinations of in game and wheel settings. On my Brand new CSW 2 & Carbon Formula rim in GT6.
I just can't get rid of the cogging// notchy feeling especially when exiting corners.
This is currently far worse than my old PWTS :banghead: which was smooth with only a squeak noise due to age, lol.
Cogging only disappears with For @ 20 which leaves me with practically 0 FFB.

This does not tally with the reviews and comments I have read here that steering is buttery/silky smooth.

Is my wheel base faulty or is this a GT6 specific issue ?
I don't as yet have a pc set up

Can someone share their settings.
If I can tweak the settings to resolve this I will update my post.

I have been playing around with settings a lot tonight. All I can say is yes it is notchy around center in Gran Turismo. I will continue to mess with game and wheel settings to see what there is. Tonight I only ran high downforce cars in the drc 24. That is part of it, I also think tires play a part in gt6. Too much tire on a car can feel like a high downforce car.

I think your wheel is fine and it is just the firmware and and game we are playing. If you are still concerned though, I would highly recommend contacting Fanatec. (They will want a simple short video to accompany your concern. Just a heads up) If it is defective, the normal turnaround is very fast I'm sure. Today though we have some dock problems with their US landing point. Very sad and whole nother discussion. Part of me says we all need better pay, but I have not seen a raise in years and these dock workers earn 140,000k a year US. So I am on the fence.

So sorry to go tangent. Let's share some GT6 settings that we like. Personally I play on long stretches and need a lower beating, otherwise my wrists become damaged and painful, to the point they wake me up.

Right now at DRC 24 min.
Sen 900, ff 90, sho 40, abs off, Lin off, dea 20 (messing with 10 to 30), drl off, for 60, spr off, dpr off. In gt6 settings max torq 3, force feedback sensitivity 10.

Can you try these 2 configurations and see they how they work for you.

GT6
In game FFB 3

CSWV2 Wheel Settings (based on the understanding that the wheel is set to 900 or 720 degrees rotation)

FFB - 100
FOR - 110 (sometimes I set this to 70 when GT6 in game FFB is set to 10)
DRI - Off
LIN - Off
SPR - Off

Let me know how that feels for you ;)
Don't worry about the strength being low, you can gradually adjust this to taste. But hopefully this should reduce the notchy feelings.

Thanks for the suggested settings, I will test them when I get home for sure:cheers:
I moved on to Grid 2 and most definitely did not get any cogging/notchy steering at all. Awesome.
Very impressed with the results/experience I had with the wheel. However, my racing has always previously been with GT6, and that's what I bought the wheel for.
I therefore have to conclude my issues were GT6 game specific. I truly hope this is sorted for GT7 (provided we get PS4 compatibility).

I don't know what spr & dpr settings do, interestingly they were both set at 100 as defaults on all presets straight out the the box.

Afaik ... They push and pull the wheel back to the centre, however, I can't remember if they affect PS3 or not (I think they are pc specific) but I turn them off to be sure, as they are not "direct" feedback from the game, they are an artificial effect to assist with getting games who's force feedback is perhaps lacking or feels unusual under certain circumstances.

I run with FFB set to 3 and For at 110 to eliminate dead zones. These settings are also recommended by a CSWV2 reviewer who did some extensive testing and arrived at those exact settings.

I tinkered with them, but always came back to those settings. I find that after 3 or 4 hours of racing I was too slow if the FFB was set to high and it began to feel very fake (to strong) ... I would walk outside and drive my actual car which then felt like a cloud after driving with such high downforce, wide tyres on FFB 10 :D

I do raise the force feedback on occasion of course, to taste. But with these settings, I get a very smooth sensation.

What do you have in game steering sensitivity set to, have you selected g25 or 27 and have you set steering to simulation, assists off etc?

Has anyone else noticed that when turning full lock to the right it goes straight to the stop and feels very direct however turning full lock to the left there is a spongy feeling for the last few degrees?

I went back to GT5 , to test, and it was much better, almost no notchynes at all.
The shock when booting up GT6 again has left me utterly dismayed :irked:
I used the same in game & wheel settings.
There is continuous jolting , jarring, juddery, movements between 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock on the wheel. It is extremely unpleasant. Even slow at 20mph it's just all too weird ffb.
It's as if literally every minute mark on the clock face between 10 & 2 positions is gravelly.
Spending £700 on a new wheel for my favourite game that makes the experience worse than my £200 wheel is hard to accept.

I really don't wish to be negative but somehow I need to figure out if it is indeed faulty.

Part of me is thinking, just wait for PS4 or XB1 support, maybe it will be better, which will happen hopefully before the two year warranty runs out. But that leaves me with an expensive paperweight in the form of the Carbon Formula Rim. It does look bloody awesome however.

Yea that doesn't sound normal to me.

There's a few happy GT6 / CSWV2 users over here:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...mo-6-csw-v1-and-perfection-reinvented.317943/

Who posted settings etc (same as the ones I posted) and a major review stating its the best combination on console to date. I'd check, double check all settings and also ensure your not using a wonky custom tune, and if it's still the same... RMA :(

My experience has been ok so far. I'll do some really extensive testing tomorrow and see if I can replicate this (as I wasn't looking for it, perhaps I didn't notice it, or perhaps its car specific?)

Did you try other games such as arcadey titles too (Dirt/Sega Rally/Shift/Grid) etc

Yes, I have posted a video of my settings. I am still enjoying GT6 a lot especially with old cars like GT40 or old Ferraris...

I don't feel any "coggyness" at all.

You sure did :)
In fact, I use your settings in conjunction with the ones contained within the review as they feel better for certain cars, I found them while scouting the web looking for GT6 configs "stole" them, and loved them... And never even said thanks (until now) ;)

I saw your video after reading the review and tried your settings. I think they are really good. I alternate between the 2 depending on race and if vehicle.

I'm going to try and dial in shift 2 at some point over the coming weeks, as I never really gave that game a chance, as it just felt... wrong.

But some folk absolutely swear by it?
So if anyone has a perfect CSWv2 or CSW or CSR-E set up for that game, I'd love to know, before I start from scratch. Will be a great place holder until CARS arrives on the new consoles :)
