The damper for the brake is a must have in my opinion. I ran mine without it for a bit while trying the damper on the throttle and once I installed it on the brake I was very pleased with the pedal feel. It firms the pedal up quite a bit. I am using about 3/4 of the dampers adjustment. I cant really see down there to read the numbers lol.
Yep, second that. Just took off leaking damper off the throttle, can't tell I lost much if anything. But brakes, yes, it's just PU foam between pedal and load cell, you need to have some extra, damper with max preload setting seems to help.

Double check the placement of pedal connection at wheel. It's easy to plug into the wrong port.
hey thanks for your reply man but i've ran everything i can think of. Download several drivers and swapped the cables around to no success. Im starting to think it maybe a faulty V3 or RJ12 cable cause my V2 pedals worked fine with my V2 base ): I don't want to have to send them back cause they are such good pedals!

Do you all have "BRF" on your wheel settings menu cause i dont have it on my 918RSR, which is now leading me to believe im on the wrong firmware 110 for my V2 base?

You only have the BRF option when hooked up to the base. You need to set it in the driver if using usb.

I dont think its a driver problem but anything is worth trying for me now so which of the drivers are you using?
What I mean is that the only way to set the BRF on the wheel rim is if the pedals are connected to the wheel base. If they are connected using the usb cable the only way is by using the slider in the driver menu. The slider only works when using driver 223 which I'm using.

No worries I understood you. One end of the RJ12 goes into "direct to wheel" and the other into pedal on the base right?:indiff: Firmware 110 is correct since I'm using same drivers as you?

Yes same driver and firmwares as you. I also had a issue with my pedals connected to the base I hooked them up to the usb did the firmware update and just left them that way.

So you are in the same boat as me or yours are fine either way you connect? I don't have a clue what to try anymore!

I haven't tried to reconnect them to the base after updating them, so not sure. Do you or anyone else know if it will hurt anything to have both cables connected to the pedals at the same time? Not Both ends of the cables connected at the same time just both cables connected to the pedals. I don't want to keep removing the heel plate to test it. I would rather have them connected to the base, but not if I need to keep removing the heel plate for usb connection.

I had both of my cables plugged in to the v2 pedals for a while, simply because I foolishly thought I could go back to GT6 and wanted to run the cable through my rig for tidiness. Didn't cause an issue, as long as you only have one plugged in at a time. I don't use console any more though so my OCD made me remove the redundant cable and retie everything.

Yes I have BRF tuning setting.

Just got mail from Fanatec.
My set (to be delivered end of September) is ready for shipping, 6 weeks earlier than expected.
There will be a new type of USB cable included (since there seemed to be problems with correct fitting on the previous cables).
The damper kit is out of stock and will be delivered as soon as they are available.

EARLY CHRISTMAS TOMORROW :dopey::cheers::bowdown:

Received my shipping notification for my Xbone hub today. Was listed as pre-order available 31/8/15 only yesterday. Should have it Thursday and finally no more having to swap wheels on my rig!

I had my cabling for my CSP v2 connected to my rig with cable ties and I didn't want to go through the trouble of removing the old cable and installing the new cable. They are standard USB cables.

I simply plugged the USB connector into the CSP v3 and it fired right up.

I only needed to run the CSW v2 Driver/Firmware (223 beta) package to get the correct driver installed on the pedal set.

I really like the v3 pedal set. While I can't say I can tell the difference in resolution between v2 and v3, the dampers on the break and throttle are very noticeable. On the break it provides a much broader range of feel allowing me to be more precise in applying the breaks particularly when breaking very hard. The throttle damper allows me to more precisely control the application of power which makes for better starts and acceleration out of corners.

Email yesterday my V2 Base, v3 Pedals, XBOX Universal Hub with Round 1 rim and a CSL Wheel Stand is on its way early also with the extra USB cable mentioned. Supposed to be delivered tomorrow.

Fanatec never said there was anything wrong with them, they just said use the USB cables we sent with the pedals. I think this is just to prevent confusion with other type USB connectors that can be found on cabling. They are USB 2.0 connectors type A on one end and type B on the other end.

It seems they had reports of faulty cables:

This was on my invoice:

2 SP-CSW USB CABLE CSW V1&V2 angled ferrit USB cable 1 pcs

Note:

Due to some reports that the USB cable sits too

loose in the connector of the CSW Base V2 we

are sending all potentially concerned customers

this new USB cable to ensure a perfect

connection to your device.

Fanatec stuff arrived today.
Man, this is awesome gear. The Porsche 918 RSR rim is simply stunning

Fanatec seems to have included the wrong power cable for the V2 base though.
Three pin connector, while we use two pin here...

So how much where you charged on the import duty? It's so annoying, it's expensive enough shipping and somehow I have to be holding enough cash to give to the courier at the door without knowing what it could be. :grumpy:
I live in Scotland and have never paid any duty on Fanatec products (3or4 csr elites and 1 csw2 base)

I appreciate the smoother action and higher resolution, which can definitely be noticed
The higher resolution is only on the throttle and clutch, not on the brake, only the load cell has been changed. I think that removing the potentiometer is a bad move.

My Xbone hub is due to be delivered today (no more swapping wheel bases yay!) but the postman has just left this for me.

Found it on eBay for less than £50, no idea if it's legit but feels solid and well put together, the stitching is very neat and tidy so at that price I'm really happy with it.

You'll be able to just get a whole new cable locally. That's annoying though for sure.
