I've been out of the equipment buying phase for a while. Does the Xbox One Universal Hub work on CSW V1 wheel bases? I recall that being yes a few months ago but I can't find anything on the website about it anymore.

@Fanatec...
Damn my "chirping" problem came back. This time I noticed the source of it.
It's the rear fan on low rpm (The slower it turns the higher the noise. Especially when it is starting to turn).
I only noticed it when I took off my headphones. Wheel works fine but it is annoying.

Last time I think It was fixed with firmware update. Is it a known problem or my fan is faulty? (I contacted support)

I'm pissed right now if it's hardware that is faulty and it was not fixed last time.

Edit: but it is hard to invoke the noises since my room cooled down
I will try to update to beta drivers

Edit2: I think( with 250 drivers) it became more intense (so I think in part it is fw fault).

Is there any archive of older drivers ?

@Fanatec

The Fanatec site and Facebook account are mentionning some new CSL Elite gears: base and pedals.

How will it be positionned in your product range ? Between CSL and Clubsport ?

You probably mean the discontinued CSR product line. The CSL line will be positioned well below the ClubSport series in some aspects but there are strong similarities.

Not at all. :-)

Instead of hyping and talking we just concentrate to get our development of the new products done.

Trial run production of the CSL Base will start in July and if everything goes smoothly we can start talking. ;-)

Then I cannot wait for these trial runs to commence. You've been eerily quiet since the announcement about Play Station compatibility. Good to know you're still around and it's even better news to see that there will be more options in the sim wheel market. My CSR needs to be replaced with something that has Xb1 compatibility. I just don't have a Club Sport budget to work with. ;)

anyone have any fanatec discount codes? I was about to purchase Some Clubsport V3 pedals but I wanted to check first. I'll ask if they can maybe let me beta test the performance brake too.

Fanatec Dont mfg the fans.

Never in all the years have i seen an actual coupon for the Fana Site. Im assuming thats for In house stuff if they needed to knock the price down for some one.

How is the reliability of the new CSW V2?
I think It varies.

I had two problems:
1) firmware bricked and did not go out of update mode (I think there was something with usb)
2) wheel made chirping noises

Later I find out that chirping was from the fan (on low rpm) and it came back this summer.
Now I'm waiting (It supposed to come back from RMA today)

Wheel was working perfectly (when it was not stuck in update mode) except the noise that came back was annoying.

To my understanding V1 motors were going bust and I had non of that.

Fanatec is responding and fixing fast (tho I wish they would tell me what was wrong)

I have to note that I don't race as much as I used to (do to time constraints and general health).

PS

G25 pedals started spiking while on the last days of warranty (That was lucky) but generally I don't have much look.

I got one of the first batch. After a few months I got a ball bearing that started to make some noise. It has been replaced and no other issue. I assume that my issue is something that can happen on a new product. And now the current CSW V2 is a well known product so reliability should even be better.

I platinumed Gran Turismo 6, drove hundreds hours in Assetto Corsa and rFactor.

Amazing piece of hardware, every time I put my hands on it, it still feels like driving something special.

Does the official forza wheel work with the V1 on the Xbone? I'm about to get it because my thrustmaster just died but I want to make sure.

It varies. I've had only minor issues (belt loosening, some strange noises, random shut offs due to heat) but nothing terminal (1 unit, purchased in first year of release). Now... my V1... I had to send in over 7 times!

sofar i havent noticed any deterioration yet other than a few mm of wiggling i can do between the wheel and the quickrelease system. i only notice it if i push one side of the wheel while pulling the other side. I'm not sure if it's always been like that.

If you can feel the QR play, the wearing process has begun. ALWAYS run the QR screw,

Check the allen screws on the inside of wheel and CSW V2. They loosen up and can cause play.

Great advice. This has been a weak spot with these wheels. I got in the habit of checking them when I received them new. My Universal Hub, 2x Universal Hubs for Xbox One, and Formula Rim have all had loose/barely hand tightened screws inside the collar. Only the CSL P1 wheel arrived with sufficiently tightened screws.

I don't have any issues after it came back from RMA.
It got louder but in a good way (it emits more fan air noise and in my book it is better then chirping :D)
It even looks like they changed my usb cable (It does not slide out anymore by the looks of it)

Only downside is that Fanatec does not write what they did but I guess average user is not interested.

You can always inquire to the Actual tech who worked on your gear as to what he did.

Okay, I'm experiencing a strange issue with my Clubsport Shifter.

Sometimes, when I shift to 2nd or 4th, the car goes into neutral instead of to those gears. It only happens with those two gears. All the others are fine. This happens to me in Forza 6, Forza Horizon 2, and GT6, so it's not a game related problem.

I connected my wheel to my PC and opened the Fanatec properties program and the shifts to 2nd and 4th don't always register, so it's defenitely a problem with the shifter itself. I also made sure the Clubsport Shifter is connected to the Shifter1 port on my CSW and I also calibrated it many times, but the issue still persists.

As long as that wheel rim is coupled to the Xbox compatible Universal Hub (It has the Green quick release collar) than it should work just fine. It's the U-hub it's self that makes either the CSW V1 or V2 compatible.

The wheel list for F1 2016 is out and has some rather confusing text around Fanatec and PS4: http://blog.codemasters.com/f1/08/f1-2016-supported-wheels/

Not sure what it means, but it is the first PS4 game wheel compatibility list to release since Fanatec removed PS4 compatibility statements from their website, so it might be indicative of a broader situation.

I guess it could mean two things:
(1) the new Fanatec wheel is out soon and as a result of the licensing agreement older Fanatec wheels are either not allowed to be included, or Fanatec will get support added once the release of the new wheel is done.
(2) Sony is clamping down on "compatible" but unlicensed wheels. However the T500 listed makes this less likely (unless there is a special deal for the T500 since it's the official GT5/6 wheel)

What do you guys think?

Good looking set up. How do you like the Fanatec shifter mounted to the Ozone shifter arm? Is it too high? Did you mod the shifter arm at all?

@skazz I think I need to cancel my Assetto Corsa pre order! :(

I can't believe it's taking Fanatec so long to make this deal.
I'd agree that preordering AC is a risk, although as you can read on the Fanatec blog post comments we don't know for sure either way yet: https://www.fanatec.com/forum/discussion/187/playstation-compatibility/p5

Marco's post, which is quoted near the end of the comments, leaves room for interpretation. He could be talking about the CSWv2 license for Xbox One only, or he could imply Assetto Corsa Fanatec support on PS4 due to "compatibility" rather than "license".

He's being intentionally ambiguous, I'm sure they'd love to have Fanatec wheels compatible with PS4 as they've already done the development work for PC. Unfortunately Sony is playing hardball with Fanatec and there's no solution coming up to ACs concole launch. I'm guessing GT Sports launch is when we'll get a definative answer seeing as it'll be the most pivotal racing title on PS4.

Agreed if Fanatec wheels were going to work at AC launch there would be no confusion. Kunos are dancing around the subject as to not ruffle any feathers before launch. Fanatec because they are still trying to work a deal and don't want to piss off Sony or consumers any more than they have already.
