Cant see if this has been answered but if I want to extend the cable from CSS to CSW can I use a standard RJ11 to RJ11 cable? (assuming it is just RJ11) :)

Finally came the day I got to try it for real.

I am very pleased with it I wish I had this shifter in my real cars. First shifter that don´t really leave me wanting. TH8 RS and SST Lightning just wasn´t it.

The H-shifter operation is just about spot on from how I would like it. Easy to operate over time which is important. I don´t see a problem using this for endurance racing. Solid action. Don´t overstiffen it feels better going for smoothness I feel.

Sequential is nice though I may preferr a more direct action. Think the stock Fanatec seq shifter but without that awful mounting system that ruined the feel. I am not sure at this point what I would preferr though time will tell it´s still early.

I like the included knobs.

However I will say that the wiggle on the shifter knob do show from time to time. It´s a shame when things are so solid otherwise. I manage to get a 99 % solid mount with my clubsport shifter clamp so I will probably not hard mount it. More a todays i-country problem then dealbreaker though. Thrust me TH8RS or SST lightning shifter is not an alternative. You will have to deal with much bigger problems going with those.

The locked R and 7th gear is also a con. It would be better not having the 7th gear at all and no locked R if it would allow for a solid shaft.

One thing to note is inconsistent noise. Maybe it´s due to more firmer mounting but my shifter is more clicky now then it used to.

So far recommended almost forgot how booring paddles are.

Just want to tell you folks that my order for the CSS tableclamp and USB dongle is underway. ;)

Edit:
Correction. Invoice only states tableclamp... WTF?!?!

You guys bought shifters that were shipped? When were they ordered? I ordered recently (last week) but of course it would be awesome to get it before 2/28, lol.

Just got a mail back from Claudia. The USB adapter will be send out at the end of the month when they are arriving at the warehouse.

So in the next 14 days people should have their adapters.

I think I ordered late november when they had the CSS in stock. But it would been a paperweight for still some time if it wasn´t for Jon. But they gave me the anser of 28th januari when I asked about it in december too.

I don't understand why someone would order something that isn't even available yet when there is already a viable, proven option?

I have all the firmware written already for shifters, pedals and handbrake. Just sayin'

I guess in your case it's cheaper, given that your were already paying shipping on the clamp. As long as you end up getting the adapter at the end of the month.

Yeah seriously, Basher has supported this forum like crazy with awesome things to make our hobby better where the big companies just pay lip service and pretty much don't deliver. Please support him so he can continue to bring us awesome things. Sheesh.

You didn't have your product ready when I ordered at Fanatec, and I do not wish to have the administrative hassle of canceling orders. Plus I need to add the fact that I am not in a hurry for getting the adapter.

This has nothing to do with me not wanting to give you my money. I am sorry, mate. This post of yours is a bit unsightly in my eyes. I feel like you are begging me to buy yours instead. At least that is the impression I get, and maybe an unintended one at that as I know you are not the guy to do so.

The only reason I would need a new adapter is when it can emulate a TH8 shifter. For that I would than need to make my own because of your earlier statement of not making one due to possible legal implications and it being a too risky affair.

I must have misinterpreted this post then. I am certainly not begging you to buy the adapter from me. Your post sounds like you ordered the adapter and clamp that day... Doesn't it?

You're overreacting a bit.

I'm not too concerned about how many of these I sell. In fact by my observations thus far not that many people even have these shifters. I simply stated that I didn't understand. Really the issue was that I mistook your initial statement.

Lol, the paskowitz having problems with CSW's saga continues. Wheel goes off center over time while being used. Happens within 5 minutes every time. Looks like this is my destiny. Just when I was enjoying Assetto Corsa...

Maybe I did overreact a bit, my appologies.
The posts states that my order is underway. With which I meant that I got my invoice and UPS tracking code mails for the order, and that the package with ordered contents was underway. After which I realized the adapter was missing.
Said order was made on December 5th 2013 to be precise, and partially send this Thursday and received on Friday.
Waiting a week ish for the adapter won't kill me. It can take longer for your adapter to get here if I would ask you (after exchanging the necessary dollars) to send me one of yours. Got a T500 adapter from Derek once which got lost in the mail. Showed up a good 6 months later after I already for long received a replacement from Derek.
Moral of the story... intercontinental shipping isn't the smoothest and fastest in my experience.

In any case, I am sorry overreacting and taking your post wrong. Maybe its the lack of sleep lately due to health issues (tiny sub dermal blisters all over my body, but mostly feet... so painful braking) . Prevents me from simming as well since Christmas.

That said, I am glad I ordered the tableclamp. It is much sturdier when I clamp it onto the shifter mount tubing of my rSeat than when I use the rSeat shifter mount. rSeat's shifter mount is made out of steel that I can bend by hand, so just think what a heavy piece of CSS leverage does to a thing initially developed for a G25/27 shifter, right... wobble galore.
Now if health improves and the shifter adapter arrives on the doorstep I can finally enjoy this shifter.
Plus I still need one of your pedal adapters for the CSP to T500, when the time comes that they are ready.

I had the same problem. It happened almost every time I played AC (it was worse when driving a car that had a stronger FFB or when drifting). Contacted Fanatec customer service. But as it took them few days to answer, in the meantime, I decided to take back cover off and see if encoder wheel sensor and everything else hasn't come loose. I also blew some dust away as I have not done so in 1,5 years that I've owned the wheel. Since that, wheel hasn't lost a center even a bit. Even after playing an hour or two, checking in Fanatec driver window, everything is dead straight. That doesn't mean that you don't have more serious problem. Just saying that simple cleaning kept me with dealing Fanatec customer support.

I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Finally received my Club Sport Shifter SQ last week, installed it yesterday, It was preordered in August, it took forever to ship, then the package got lost, long story short, it took a while.:grumpy:
Well it seems I will have to wait a little longer, as the shifter seems defective.:banghead:
I calibrated the new shifter, went to AC ( where else ) the H gate is defective!!!!!, 1st 2nd and reverse work well, but when shifting to 3rd I have 50/50 chance to get 5th, 6th gives me 4th. They are allocated properly in the game 13 to 18.
It was difficult to calibrate the new shifter with my wheel already but I was hoping once assign all would be good, but it was not to be. I sent the email and video to service this morning, I am not worried, Fanatec Service has always been good to me, I just wish that I would not need them to demonstrate their ability again.
Meanwhile I can practice the sequential;, it works flawlessly.:)

I believe the HAL sensor might be a bit sensetive to dust (TH8 can be funky with dirt/dust too btw). I believe spraying onto it with a can of air helps.
You just can undo the 4 screws on top to get to the goods inside. Though put it into H-mode before you do as it is easier to put it back together again that way.

Personally I would suggest waiting for Fanatec Support prior to doing this as to not void the warranty by opening the product without the OK of the manufacturer.

Small disclaimer: I have not tried this myself as there was no need, but read the solution multiple times already. So good chances it works for you as well.

Had similar issue with mine.......cracked it open, cleaned HALL effect sensor with compressed air, problem solved. If the sensor is dirty in any way it won't read the side to side positioning of the shifter correctly and thus output the incorrect voltage......aka wrong gear. The CSS uses a Hall effect sensor combined with microswitches for gear selection

I had similar problems but this was because I haven't installed the drivers on my PC (stupid, but nobody told me I had to...) so I mentioned this just in case (I'm sure you did this already).

Here is my issue with my CSS SQ. It calibrates fine; click, click, click. I use it in GT6. I can up shift fine all 6 gear (I have a CSR-E so no 7th). I can't down shift from 5 or 6 to 4 or 3. If downshifts fine from 2, 3 or 4. To downshift from 5 or 6 to 3 or 4 I have to hold in the clutch while I shift to 2 and then back to 3 or 4. Needless to say this makes these shifts much more difficult and time consuming.

I used to believe the issue was with GT6 but no amount of care with the shifting makes it possible to downshift from 5 & 6 normally. I therefore conclude that there must be something wrong with the shifter. I read the above comments about blowing dust off the hall sensors, so I took the top off the shifter but it is not clear to me where I should be blowing off dust. The shifting mechanism is enclosed.

Any suggestions??

Open and spray with air. Fixed it for me.

Thank you guy's, I am waiting for feedback from the service support, since it is brand new, I would like them to confirm to me that blowing air is what I should do, and that it is ok to open it without voiding the warranty.
I hope you are correct, I am almost sure you are correct and that this is all it takes to have fun with my CSS. I also hope they send a step by step with picture so I blow the air at the right spot.
I will keep you posted on my progress.

Hi guys. I've received today my clubsport sq shifter and table mount. I'm having some problem trying to find the screwdriver to use to access the t slots to mount the shifter to the table clamp. Hope some of you guys can help me. It's driving me crazy having the shifter and don't be able to use it. Thanks in advance.

I used compressed gas to blow out the shifter still not being clear where the HAL sensors are located. No joy. Standing still with clutch depressed in GT6: I can shift up through all 6 gears I can down shift to all gears except 4 & 3. It appears to me that the shifter is defective.

Any further ideas or should I contact Fanatec service?

Hi everyone. I just wanted to post as another person having problems with their new css sq. It's a beautiful piece of equipment that I'm sure I will get years of enjoyment out of once it's working properly, but unfortunately I'm having the same problems with the sensor that others are having. Here's an excerpt of the support email I sent to Fanatec:

"If I calibrate moving to each gear directly from the lower gear, then the shifter will report the wrong gear on downshifting, and if I calibrate by first move the shifter into a higher gear before the gear asked for, the shifter will report the wrong gear on up-shifting. Specifically, if calibrated for up-shifting it will report 6th and 5th when it is downsifted into 3rd and 4th, and when calibrated for downshifting it will report 1st and 2nd when it is up-shifted into 3rd and 4th."

If you are one of the people with this problem, I believe the sensor you are looking for is directly behind the rj12 port when the shifter is sealed, but no amount of air blowing made any difference for me.

davuz_89, you need a hex key. I'm sorry, I don't know the size, but if you get a set of them you should find one that fits.
