I carefully tried the CSS SQ in FM4 and the result was the same. I can not downshift from 5th or 6th gear to 4th or 3rd gear. If I go in neutral to the left over 1st and 2nd I can then go back and select 3rd or 4th. I am getting pretty adept at it but its not right and is slower than being able to directly select the gear I want.

So many defective shifters, it does not sound right! We must be missing something.
I am still waiting on feedback from Fanatec support.

It does not make sense, your shifter is not working properly! it should be operating flawlessly, we are not talking about some cheap plastic thingy here

Hi guys. I've received today my clubsport sq shifter and table mount. I'm having some problem trying to find the screwdriver to use to access the t slots to mount the shifter to the table clamp. Hope some of you guys can help me. It's driving me crazy having the shifter and don't be able to use it. Thanks in advance.
Should be a 2.0mm Hex (almost certain that's the size) Regardless just take the hex screw out and remove the plastic corner pieces......

Wow!! I can't believe there are this many issues. I got mine today and finally got it mounted to my Obutto R3v. I have played just a little, but everything seems fine. Really loving the Sequential, really brings new immersion to the cars that use it.....compared to using paddles as I used to since it was such a pain to convert TH8. The shifter is really in class of it's own. Don't get me wrong, the TH8 is a nice and VERY versatile shifter, it's just not to this level.

I am going to drive some cars with H shifter more now, just to see if I have any of the issues others are having. Also, someone mentioned drivers.........I didn't install them....Didn't even know there were any LOL. I simply plugged into my CSW and calibrated and started playing!!

Th8 breaks under the pressure ;)

Would be interesting to no how many got issues with it as standalone or if it's some software glitch with the csw.

Remember, the initial delay from the summer release date was a defect/issue they found during the production process. Took all shifters back to correct, stating the issue would be resolved....... Rock on Mr.Basher for providing the adapter in a timely manner to those who purchased it for USB use

Hugs TH8RS also.

I filed a service request with Fanatec including a video showing the CSS being shifted between 3rd & 4th while on screen showed the game in 5th & 6th. We'll see what they have to say.

I think he's saying you hugged it so hard it broke?
Yes TH8RS is very fragile. Hoped I was clear with the smiley :)

But really I don´t know if it should be necessary to return the shifter if it´s in game can shift up but not shift down. That sound more like a software glitch that could be corrected by new firmwares? I fail to see how it could otherwise find the fifth gear on every up shift but not down shift. It doesn´t make any sense whatsoever to me.

So you that got this error do you get it using the CSS as a standalone on PC as well also after recalibrating it? I suppose nobody perhaps have fanatecs usb adapter yet?

And again thanks to mr Basher. I had to disable legacy support to get my computer boot with the adapter enabled. It seem to still slow down the boot some times but no issues while in windows. I did have to recalibrate the shifter before use or it would only find some gears before first use.

Really love the shifter done pretty much a full rotation of my racing games minus the codemasters one and euro truck simulator 2 works like a charm. Test drive Ferrari Legends is huge fun I have to say. I don´t have the energy for serious simracing at the moment and I can´t stand the grinding of GT6 to get new cars so this is perfect.

It is a strange problem.

1) My shifter has the same problem in both GT6 and FM4 so it is not a game specific issue.
2) Not everyone has the problem so it's not a total failure of either the firmware or the hardware.
3) Multiple people have the problem which suggestions a "susceptibility" for failure and probably some sort of an interaction between the hardware and the firmware. This may be why some people were able to solve the problem by blowing dust out of the unit.

On the unit I had to test with, one of the connectors for one of the switches literally FELL OFF when I pulled the shifter apart. I had to solder it back on. I had barely moved it. Due to this I resoldered all of the other connectors just to be sure my friend's shifter would survive moderate use.

Your shifter was... Most others seem to be fine. ;)

To clarify this a little. This was due to your chipset or motherboard. I haven't seen this with the FS1 or any other adapters I have sold. Very odd but glad we got it fixed! :)

I noticed the problem first in GTR2 and then Assetto Corsa, and then the wheel properties dialog. It seems like defective sensors or poor quality control on assembly to me, but I don't know anything specific about how the sensor operates so I could easily be wrong. My shifter worked correctly for at least a couple hours before it started having the problem.

They replied to my support ticket with a request for a video. I sent it this evening.

Hmm did Kuno break H-shifter support in the 0.5.3 build? I can only use my CS in seq now though it detect all my gears in the H-shifter window fine as always.

I don't own AC myself but I read that it depends on the car. Cars that only have sequential transmissions don't work with the H patterns. But this is just something I read. What car are you testing with?

Something some of you with misbehaving shifters might try...

Let go of the stick when you calibrate each gear. See if that helps any...

What I mean is, shift into the gear, let go of the shifter, press the button on the wheel to go to the next gear, repeat.

Thanks for your suggestion. I calibrated per your recommendation and it didn't help. My shifter is truly malfunctioning.
