Hope I will be getting one of those,:) ( the one that works)
Have you tried to adjust the allen bolt on the side to get a little less stiff feeling?

No a fellow racer said his was "tight tight" outta the box too but loosened up after the first few session's...Mine did the same yesterday.

So the allen bolt is just that, tighten for stiffer loosen for looser ? lol i couldn't find anything that said so.

Does the CSS come with the hardware (i.e. 4 M6 screws) for hard mounting? I'm assuming not since it kind of depends on the individual setup, just thought I'd ask. I should be setting mine up with my Obutto Ozone tomorrow (and Mr. Basher's USB adapter :) )

It comes with mounting hardware, yes. However, depending on the surface you will mount your shifter on you might need different length screws.

Just got done mounting my CSS SQ and calibrating it via Mr. Basher's utility (great job BTW Mr. Basher on the product. The adapter was plug and play and the calibration utility worked perfectly!.)

It's definitely a beefy piece of hardware. I don't seem to have any issues that others have mentioned so far, but I am just giving it a go now so we'll see.

I just got a mail from Fanatec that my USB adapter is underway this time. Lets hope it works nicely. :)

I have a firmware update for the adapter that I am posting on the site today if anyone is interested in updating their adapter. It's not a necessary update, but it could prevent some issues on some of the "sloppier" shifters out there. Some of the shifters have an issue whereby the stick is allowed to move too might side to side in the gates. This firmware takes care of that situation. It's possible this is what has been causing issues for some of you with your wheels. You may not physically feel this...

Anyhow, I'll post it up today. The update process is super simple.

ShodanCat, nice to hear and thank you! :D

Strange, their site still says "Pre Order" maybe they just haven't updated the site yet.

Well, it says in stock in European webshop and LogiForce is in Europe.

Their products availability is quite strange. At one point, CSS SQ was available for pre-orders and availability was 14.01.2014 or something. Then it said availability 28.02.2014. Then it changed to in stock and now it is two months away 28.03.2014. I guess stock was cleared very fast seeing so many people needed theirs replaced.

Got the invoice from Claudia which is written on 30-1-2014. It does state the advice to download the latest driver from the Fanatec website.

It should arrive tomorrow. I will see if I get around to shooting some pics as proof of arrival tomorrow.

Next day shipping? Bravo! :)

Eh... it is always here within a day when a package is coming from their Hamburg warehouse. When a package comes from Landshut HQ it takes 3 days.
Logistics have always been good (fast and reliable) for me from any online shop located somewhere within the European continent.

That said the package was shipped on January 30th 2014 and will arrive on January 31st 2014. So it's actually next day delivery, not just shipping. ;)
The pain is waiting for the packages from China to arrive at the warehouse. :indiff:

Yeah, 2 hours away... You could darn near go pick it up yourself. I suppose I meant next day delivery. sorry.

If only gas wasn't so darn expensive in my country. Averaging close to 1.70 euro per liter (so around 6.43 per US gallon).
Distance wise it would definitely be faster if I could go there to pick it up. Google maps calculated it would cost me 48.27 euro on gas alone though. So UPS is definitely cheaper for me, even at this distance.

Package should be here around 4 o'clock (4 hours from me posting this). The UPS chaps are always exactly on time and at 4 o'clock here. To the point where you can almost set your watch to it.

I wonder is that experience the same elsewhere with UPS too? Heard some US horror stories though.

Here you go guys. The adapter is real and out there. Still need to try it but I first need to put away the groceries.

Good thing I did not set my watch to UPS this time. It would be almost two hours out of whack if I did. lol

Am I reading this thread wrong or are these shifters not reliable ? Was hesitating ordering one... but between the shipping delays and the reliablity...

Cannot speak for everyone, but in my experience, it is not so much unreliable than it was just plain defective, as it did not work from the start.
I will be able to tell more when I receive one that works.
If you are not too much in a rush, I would take my time before making a decison if I was you.

Dazur - Did you find out what the problem was with your CSS ?

By my count on this thread:

7 Working
6 Returned for replacement
1 Unsure (Was having issues and had it fixed by blowing air in it, haven't seen another post about it on the thread)

I had one customer with a similar issue but was able to help him resolve it by adjusting the firmware. His issue may not have been the same as the 6 that were returned here.

I saw this earlier too... Bummer :(

Very aggressive driver

I wonder how many they sold in total ?

I hope it was more than 14 !

We'll never know. Not many people responded on my poll here regarding having one or not and I don't see many others posting elsewhere about having received one. I've also only sold maybe 6 USB adapters for them. That's all I can go off of.

Several people received their shifter quite awhile before others and those people were likely what they call community testers. I'm not counting them when it comes to "how many" I've seen in the wild.

I only posted the above because cassiusclay99 asked and I was curious myself. Luckily, there is a thread here chronicling the good and bad.

I read somewhere that the BETA testing should start in January ?

The fact that they are already selling them is a mystery to me !

Doesn´t seem very hot in the racing communities. Maybe it´s only old timers that wish to run with h-shifters the modern kids run AT or more efficient and ergonomic paddles.

It does feel solid so I do hope it stay that way :)

No, I sent the video and was told to return it. No comments from service. Got an email today that they are shipping the replacement.

Awesome so you'll be back on the black top soon. I would inquire as to what the problem was. I would personally want to know.

I think interest in shifters will always be pretty limited. You start with how many people have high quality racing rigs. Of those, many are interested in hard core racing and shifters will always be at a disadvantage to paddles. That leaves those who are interested in "immersion" and the simulation of real driving. I think it gets to be a pretty small number that will spend a couple of hundred dollars on a shifter.

My shifter has been shipped back and should be with Fanatec today or on Monday. I then will await it's replacement.

I think from what has been written and my own experiences that this problem is associated with the interaction of the hall effect sensor, the design of the shifter and the firmware built into the wheel. I think the firmware is having trouble adapting to variability coming from the hall effect sensors. I'm surprised they haven't solved the problem with an update in the wheel firmware.

I think you might be surprised. :) Even my lowly offerings with regard to shifter adapters have reached surprising numbers over the last year or so. Back when I introduced my SFA1 for the TH8RS and Fanatec wheels, there were posts all over forums about it. I find almost nothing about the CSS... Just weird.

What strikes me as odd as well has been the frequency of issues, at least in this thread, given the amount of testing that was said to have gone into the shifter. There were multiple redesigns which pushed out the date. This really never came up during that time? Maybe it's a bad batch.
