Does it have native support or not? That's why i can not accept easy the no ps4 BF deal of the base. If it works only on purple mode why not buy a used csw v2.? It also works on purple mode and is better than csl

The CSW V2 won't work at all in GT Sport (unless you use a Drivehub). The purple mode on the CSL Elite PS4 is Logitech G29 emulation (There is also a yellow CSW V2 mode). It is not yet natively supported by GT Sport. That shouldn't necessarily scare you off - the wheel still works pretty well in GT Sport right now and will only get better. But no, it is not natively supported yet. Fanatec say they have the assurance of Kazunori Yamauchi himself that it will be implemented though.

Maybe i ment yellow mode for v2. I can not buy a licensed product that is not native supported on games on ps4. At least does it work in ps4 mode on the console? What about other titles on ps4? My problem is not only with Gts but with all the titles on ps4

All NEW games will support it. Also GTS will support it, but Polyphony Digital obviously is not the fastest when it comes to development.... ^^
Native support is always up to the developer.
All OLD games work with compatibility mode.
For a list have a look at the FAQ.

I just wonder why Fanatec didn't anounced it. Well tomorrow my money will go to Fanatec.
Pretty sure new firmware was already in there. I was driving in blue and purple modes in gt sport making adjustments to the wheel with none of the issues previously reported. Only difference between blue and purple mode I could see was rev lights and button mapping. Its very smooth driving it compared to tgt.

Well if the purple mode is a "g29", if i understand right, mode sony might kill it just like in csw case. Or there will be an issue from Logitech side.....!

I just want plug and play. Not red blue yellow or white modes, leds. I really admire fanatec products but..

Which firmware do you use ? Have you checked your base for updates and it had the latest firmware version ? And works fine. . . ?

1) It has to be pc not mac. I actually ran it out of the box w/o updating cuz manual said latest update should have been in there. It ran fine w a few minor adjustments on the wheel itself in gtsport (blue mode) then I disconnected everything and did the firmware update. After that it ran fine again on gts but I also gave it some time on pc2 and assetto corsa and I believe those are both also blue mode. Then went back to gts to try purple mode. Worked fine except rev lights worked and controller mapping was in g29 mode. I gave it a good run last night but im out of town til sat so had to put it all away. Looking fwd to getting back at it and getting some more settings dialed in. As I said before, I had tgt long enough to know this is a significant upgrade. Although it is plug and play, after the first week I found it lacking in adjustment options and dont get me started on the pedals. A few extra things to do in the beginning is well worth having a much better made product than one that is “plug and play”. You are going to like it.

Uhm sorry that is highly unlikely.
Blue mode in GTS works but you won't get FFB (yet). You will only get a center force so you can drive at least, but no FFB effects for curbs, over/understeer, road bumps etc.
For FFB you need to set the wheel into purple G29 emulation mode for now until GTS got a new patch with full CSL E PS4 compatibility.

I think also csl is better. You think that csl is better even with t-gt's transducer on?

If not ffb on GTS, is the same case in Project cars 1 ?

No as stated in the FAQ in pC1 you can use the yellow CSW V2 compatibility mode because the v2 was supported in that game.

I lost interest in PS4 which makes this offer very tempting.

Supe, $430 gets you a wheel, wheel base and the load cell ($130) for CSL pedals.

Damn, the Man did not lie when he said they were going to make it hard for people not to switch to fanatec.

It works in blue mode, but at least in gtsport is recognized as a game controller and the rev lights don’t work. (Kind of a redundant feature for me anyway) It drives fine though, and since you can adjust everything on the wheel, it really doesnt seem to matter. If you want rev lights and g29 mapping it also works in purple mode. The adjustability is a huge plus for me since if you dont like how a games adjustments are working, you can tweak it on the wheel adjustments. Tgt has none of that. Btw it is way smoother, which is a bigger deal than I thought it would be.
We fully understand your disappointed by the T-GT... but you don’t have to keep bashing it... it is a great wheel with its own unique features. The csl elite is better for you and I hope you enjoy many of hours of racing!

I don't think he is bashing it - he's expressing his opinion as one who has owned both. I know you have a T-GT but are you also interested in getting a CSL Elite? Is that why you keep posting in this thread?

It won't work on Purple mode and it also isn't "better" than the CSL.

PD is working with Fanatec on native support, that has been made very clear.

If these ps4 versions are flying off the shelves like I suspect they are, Fanatec won’t have a good business reason to discount them.

They are already offering a package significantly cheaper than the competition (T-GT), even if you add the LC brake pedal. People expecting a discount are just entitled.

I'm likely out :( Without a CSL elite PS4 or CSW 2.5 deal its very hard to switch from the thrustmaster t500rs. I was definitely going to pair one of those with deal 1 and deal 2 (or p1 elite wheel). That would have been an amazing combo haha.

The big problem with deal 3 is that the original CSL elite offered doesnt have the improvements the ps4 version has. The product page for the ps4 version is very convincing...

"The servo motor, electronics and power supply come straight from its high-end brother. This makes the force feedback far superior"

I would think a revision to the original CSL should be on its way to make it equal to ps4 version. What i don't want is to buy a wheel outclassed by its other platform or one that gets revisioned too soon (sorry csw 2.0 people!).

I dont like a lot of force feedback so I didn’t notice. There was some though and the car, function buttons and menus all worked normally. Also no rev lights.

I wouldnt if I hadnt paid 800 dollars for it and it didnt ship with crappy brakes. Im disappointed with thrustmaster not the tgt.

It IS a great wheel. For 450 dollars..500 with the non-upgradable brake. Thrustmaster wasted a bunch of my time pricing a wheel brake combo with the big boys, and I have a right to be upset with them for that. Besides, this is the csl thread, whats wrong with bashing the competition esp if its based on actual time using it? If you want glowing reviews of the TGT you are in the wrong thread.

The brakes aren’t crappy. That said, being a potentiometer brake is inferior to loadcell brakes but the build quality are great! Most simracers came from these kind of brakes and have learned to be fast. They are upgradeble (albeit aftermarket). If you felt conned, perhaps your expectations were to high. The wheel is overpriced and thrustmaster should have developed load cell brakes by now, but they are innovating with new technology. I’m not asking for glowing praise, but I don’t like serial bashing. And you are right this is the csl elite thread and I am interested in the wheel, but You keep mentioning the T-GT being crap in almost every post. And enough is enough.

I can not see for ps4 users.

i do not think the ps4 version sells like you say. If i consider the "no native" support.
What exactly does that mean anyway? Bc i didnt notice any difference in the way it operates than the one that did.

If you could see how the csl brake w load cell is designed and built you would understand why I said that. That is the kind of brake set an 800 or even 630 dollar (csl) wheel should be shipped with. Im sure some people learned to be fast with a d-pad at one time too. But its not something you expect an 800 dollar bundle to be shipped with. Just because they gave an old design metal arms doesn’t make it work better, it just makes it as durable as it should have been in the first place.

At the moment the CSL only partially fully supports PS4. Running in “Logitech mode” is only a shortterm patch. it Is marketed as fully licensed which some feel disappointed about.

This is my last comment about it. You can have your opinion. But please refrain from mentioning it over and over.

Disappointed in what exactly? That it doesnt have its picture in the options menu? All the buttons work normally and are just as mappable as the native wheels. Its picture not being there doesnt affect its operation. All functions work the same in the ps4, including all menus, as my old tgt did. I did all this on a ps4 pro yesterday on a csl shipped yesterday.

People reading the csl thread might be interested in knowing that a csl purchase is a better decision than an overpriced and overrated and over hyped thrustmaster product. If you are such a fan of thrustmaster go hang out in the tgt thread where everthing tgt is awesome.
