I have the settings dialed in for now but I can’t seem to get rid of the osscilation around the center point. Any suggestions?

Move the drl to negative value. It will affect also other things. You won't get ride of osscilation but would be less pronunced.

After more than 2 years without playing any racing game, I finally decided to come back and I just ordered this wheel today plus the new GTOmega Wheel Stand.
I already have the CSR Elite pedals since 2014, hope it will works fine with this wheel.
I hope I won't be desappointed with this new wheel.

If you enjoy spending more time fiddling with drivers and settings than racing then this is the wheel for you.

I have been away from sim racing for 3 years and now( 3-4 months from now) I’m planning to come back to sim racing world again( pc sim reactor 2 and AC) and Im looking for a new steering wheel and pedals.
Can you tell me how is this CSL compared to the V2.5 base? And how is the pedal? I guess the V3 pedals are much better than the CSL pedals.
Thanks

I've also got the GT Omega stand. Not sure about the CSR pedals but the CS V3s mounting holes don't really line up but if you can get enough in so that it's very stable.

The CSL base also will only have 2 out of the 3 mounting holes available on the stand. Not really an issue unless though.

Maybe I can do my own holes using a drill machine?

You can if you want, but even with the 2 it won't move on you.
As mentioned in the manual and confirmed by Thomas in a comment on a YouTube video from Inside Sim Racing, the CSL base has to be fixed on all 3 fixing points if hard mounted. Otherwise one will lose the warranty.

I think I don't get what you're saying. What do you mean exactly?
I mean that if we don't fix the base using all 3 fixing points and then the base has an issue (whatever issue), how Fanatec can know that we haven't used all 3 fixing points?

I was reporting statements from Fanatec, you may ask them directly. I can imagine that some people having fixed the base on 2 fixing points may have broken the inserts holder, meaning having to change the whole housing of the base, that's not going to be cheap and I doubt Fanatec will do the repair for free based on warranty. There has to be a reason why the base has 3 inserts instead of 2, and why they mention it in the user manual:

"Always use all three hardmount points, this allows a proper and stable installation and avoids damage!"

But again, you should ask Fanatec for further information.

Edit:
The statement above from the CSL user manual (bold, italic and underlined) is referred as "Important!" in the manual...

Ok I understand. I think I'll make a hole in the GTOmega wheel stand so it will fit with the CSL base. But in this case, the gtomega's warranty will be broken...

I would check if the GT Omega is still under warranty. If it is the case, I would check if it is mentioned in user manual of the GT Omega that one will lose warranty if additional holes are drilled in the top plate and send an email to GT Omega Racing reporting the issue.

If GT Omega Racing confirms the loss of warranty, what would be strange if the drilling has been made properly, then I would think about what would be worst for me, having to send the CSL for a housing change to Fanatec or fixing the wheel stand by myself (eg. replacing the top plate by a new one). In my case I would go for the second solution but this may be different for you.

Just had a quick look at GT Omegas homepage. They say the top plate is pre drilled for "all Fanatec wheels". Maybe they have an updated pre drilled top plate now?

In any case, I received the wheel yesterday. Quick shipping considering I ordered it past Saturday. It's frustrating to not be able to play, the Wheel stand is only available from February 12th.
Don't know the difference between the old and this new one though.

That's pretty annoying having to wait almost 2 weeks for the wheel stand. I was in a similar situation. In my case I had to wait over 4 weeks for the Next Level wheel stand. At the end I decided to build one myself out of birch ply wood. Took me 2 hours of 3d modelling on the PC, 30 minutes to get the wood pre cut from a do it yourself store and 3 hours to build it up. Costs about 40€ including paint and screws for the hard mount.
It turned out the construction is very stable, even more stable than the Next Level wheel stand for what I have seen on YouTube videos.
If I had to wait "only" 12 days and not knowing that my self made wheel stand would be that stable, not sure I have built one myself ;)

I'm looking into getting a csl elite ps4 for gtsport. I have knee issues though and was told the pedals are even stiffer than the g29 even though you can adjust stiffness. Is it even stiffer when set to the lowest resistance settings? If not this wheel ... any other suggestions?

CSL vs G27 pedals

Throttle stiffness is about the same. The CSL Has just a big more travel depending on the game.

Brake in the 2 pedal set up, with the foam mod the CSL is pretty stiffer. Removing the foam mod about the same as G27.

Brake with Loadcell. Its way stiffer with the soft rubber and way less travel than G27. But you can decide how much pressure you wanna apply to the pedal for maximum brake power.

Clutch in 3 pedal setup. It's the brake pedal from the 2 pedal setup without the foam mod. So about the same as the clutch on the G27.

From what I've read, the G29 brake is a bit stiffer as the one of the G27.

Hope could help.

..ohh..well..yeah...I mean, I definitely have all 3 set up and wouldn't dare think about only using 2.

Thanks. It was helpful to know the pedal is similar to G27. I can always experiment with the load cell and maybe sell if its too much. Was about to buy it but they are out of stock at the moment and selling for much more from third parties. Oh well... will have to wait it out for now i guess.

I finally decided to unbox the wheel today, started with a firmware update on the PC.
Then I plugged the wheel to the PS4.
Glad to see that my old CSR Elite pedals work fine with the wheel.
The only thing is that there was absolutely no force feedback at all. End of the test.
Then I realized that I was on blue mode and from what I've seen on this thread, the base has to be on purple mode on GTS to work correctly. Am I wrong?
In any case, my next test will be when I'll receive my wheel stand mid February.

Yes. Blue mode for every games that have a native support, compatible (G29 emulation) mode for GT Sport.

Honestly I think that Fanatecs should be run on PC. I was so unhappy on PS4 with my CSL, that I sold it. In reality the problem wasn't the CSL itself but the limitation you have on PS4. Bought PC and CSW V2.5 and I am like a kid on Christmas. Never been so happy with a wheelbase

I'm still on the fence about the CSL Elite, not because I'm not sure after weeks of research that it's the best wheel/pedal in this category for the PS4. but there are problems with compatibility. So basically you're saying that it's not worth getting one for the PS4? And they're only worth it for the PC? What would you recommend for the PS4?

I have the CSL Elite, and came from a Logitech G29, I love the wheel so much, even if it don't have the full implementation in GT Sport, it works fine.... I played G27 and G29, Thrustmaster 300 , Tm 500 and the TM T-GT, honestly at the moment for GT Sport the TM T-GT give me the best feedback on GT Sport, but this can change with the Implementation.

I recommend Fanatec, because of the multiple use, and modular system.
Love the wheel, feels really good, the Thrustmaster was to thick for me, and I hate the Pedals from Thrustmaster, thats why I choose the Fanatec.

Amazing. Thanks for your reply. Do you guys know if something like the wheel stand pro that fits the CSL Elite bundle. I need the wheel stand pro because it’s so light and I travel a lot (the wheel is already bulky and heavy enough)

It is not only worth for PC, Fanatec products still amazing whatever plataform you would use them. But after I made the switch to PC, I just can't back anymore, let alone the VR that is put you in another universe, it is the wheel give you way more feedback and information, they are alive.

I have tried all of them, I still have the G29 just for emergency and I sold both the CSL and the T-GT. In my opinion the CSL is a better bundle, because of the loadcell brake, the T-GT is the better wheelbase for GT Sport. When I was playing on GT Sport the better experience I had was T-GT with V3 with the CPX. Still just not worth the money for the experience. Just get the CSL (get the Loadcell brake) , so you will be fine with GT Sport and in case you decide to move to PC

If you have space the wheelstand shouldnt be a option, get a proper rig with no center bar.

Thanks so much for such detailed information and breakdown. In terms of the wheel themselves between the t-gt and the csl, the smoothness of how they turn etc. are they similar or is the csl is a completely different league (just like their pedals are). Thanks again for all the feedback.

Smooth is not were Thrustmaster shine , never been. The clogging is there, depend how picky you are. It is not a factor when you turn on the wheel. The CSL is way smoother. The focale point where the T-GT shine, especially on GT Sport, is the feedback of the FFB.

Thank you so much for this amazing info. Good luck this season.
