Fanatec GT2 available to pre-order...

So I just placed an order for the GT2 after checking fanatecs shop this morning! Says they'll ship in January, this couldn't have come at a better time for me after canceling my GT3 earlier this week after deciding it was stupid not to wait for a wheel I could use with my 360 as well.

Anybody else placing an order?

Hi, simply sent them a message from their site saying I heard there was a new 360 compatible wheel coming soon could I please cancel my order. Got a message the next day confirming they had refunded my paypal account. You thinking of doing the same then?

Omg! I am so happy that Fanatec is going to make another wheel for all platforms! I got so pissed when the S wheel was no longer available. Have to order but I just wonder, do they charge you directly if you use Paypal? I have currently no money to put into my paypal account.

Not 100% sure I understand your question! Once they have your order they will charge you paypal account straight away. Your paypal account should be linked to a bank account or credit card and the money is taken from there.

I'm really pleased they've released another multi platform wheel too, been dying to try Forza with a proper wheel.

I have currently a PS3 with GT5 but with this wheel I will with no doubt buy a X360 for Forza 3, I just refuse to spend money on a plastic junk like the Official 360 wheel or anything from Madcatz.

I ordered the Clubsport Edition yesterday. Also picked up my Obutto cockpit yesterday and got it setup. Got the crappy Xbox wheel setup now to play Forza 3 until my GT2 arrives, then I can go get GT5. Can't wait!

How do you like the Obutto cockpit? Does it appear as though you will be able to mount the Shifter down by your right hand side? Thanks.

The Obutto is very solid. The Xbox wheel with its crappy attachment is not solid at all. It will have to do until I get the GT2 and hard-mount it.

Hopefully I will have my GT2 on order by the end of the week. How easy is the Obbuto cockpit to store when not in use? I was going to build my own but this looks like a nice alternative. Is the mount for the wheel solid? Is there any flex when playing because is looks like it's a single U-Shaped arm and a steering wheel base that flexes when playing drives me nuts!

I got my pre-order in for a GT2 in this weekend as well and can't wait to get it in. I also had some questions for Thomas at Fanatec and he was very quick to respond to all my inquiries so I'm already impressed with the service before my product arrives!

Same experience for me, I've always had an email back the following day if not the same day, super impressed so far!

Hoping that my Rennsport turns up soon, when I ordered it said end of December, rumours about GT2s dispatching on the 13th have got me worried that I'll have my wheel without anything to mount it to!

I'd love to get this, as I have the logitech G25(only have maybe 20 hours on it, and thats pushing it), as I haven't had the time to build a new cockpit, and when I sold my old ps3, I couldn't play gt4 anymore, so the G25 just sat. I really want to test out the Fanatec, but just worrying as it is the first version of it, that it might have some issues, and at $500, right now it's tough for me to spend that kind of money with a wedding coming up. I love the concept and can't wait to see how it really works!

I would not worry about the "first version". This is not a completely new product for Fanatec, it's the same internal technology as in their previous Turbo S, so it is has gone through the improvement phase, because 10.000 Turbo S wheels were made and the wheel rim is almost the same as that of GT3 RS V2.
