Great news! Hope this hole thing goes smoothly for you! Five minutes ago I placed my first order with Fanatec for the Clubsport pedals. Keeping my fingers crossed :nervous:

DFGT has better button placement than both Fanatec and G25/G27 wheels. GT3 with have smoother FFB yet this also smooths out some of the ffb you feel on the DFGT. GT3 is a bigger and fatter wheel than DFGT. Both DFGT and GT3 shifters feels the same cheapness. Fanatec H-shifter makes more noise than the DFGT wheel. It makes a loud "cheap plastic" sound. DFGT has more button and knobs while Gt3 has on-wheel adjustment (I never set most of the settings). DFGT has better wheel clamps than the GT3 unless you buy the table clamp which is needed if you planning to use the H shifter.
The best product from Fanatec IMO is their CSP. CSP seems to build to last while I have serious doubts about their wheel (it's fan even sounds cheap)and no doubt at all the shifters will not last.

Which Fanatec wheel were you using?

I am drilling holes in my Obutto's Wheel Plate and then bolting down the back end of the ClubSport Table Clamp. Problem solved.

Moving forward, I REALLY like how the CSTC extends the wheel about 7 inches (closer than standard mounting) toward me. This allows me to bring the CSP toward me and move the seat back and utilize the recliner. Coupling the ability to adjust the angle of the wheel with the Obutto's adjustments, these help achieve your unique racing position.

Posted some pix and videos of my GT3rs with my Obutto on my Facebook page.

This morning I ordered the Fanatec Porsche GT3 RS V2, Clubsport pedals, shifter set, table clamp, and 2.5m shifter cable. I just received an email stating that it has shipped. I can't wait! I'll have to decide how I want to hook it all up to my obutto ozone. I'm not sure if I'll use the table clamp, but I wanted it handy just in case.

That was my plan initially, but I can't live without a proper shifter for months, and it looks like it's going to be quite a few months before the production CS shifter is out.

When you get your stuff there will be a couple of things you need to do to properly use the CS Table Clamp. The factory clamp needs to come off the wheel. Easy to do, just unscrew it and carefully pull it out.

The CSTC itself needs to be dismantled. Use a phillips screw driver and your hand as a hammer to pop out the rod that joins the top and base plates. If you have something with a blunt end the same size as a screw driver, it would be better to use. That rod does not come out or go back in "easily". You'll need to take off the nut & bolt that adjusts the angle.

Now that you have the base plate by itself, what are you mounting it to? Be prepared to drill a couple of holes on your rig's wheel mounting plate.

Mounted to my Obutto without anchoring:

You'll need a 1/4" metal drill bit and 2 1/4" nuts & 1" bolts, 4 washers if you want to protect your parts.

Mount the plate exactly where you want it. Drill through the front holes on each side. You can only use both sides if you remove the shifter bracket.

The CSTC is rock solid now!

Black aluminum paddles come with the GT3rs :)

My experience with the gt3 rs last one month. I emailed fanatec through the GT Planet, but not get a answer yet.

From a day to other, the wheel stop working, and the force feedback motors just keep vibrating, the lcd show some strange numbers, also show the famous error 888. e can't connect to the PC or PS3.

I emailed fanatec/endors company to, so where I'm waiting for a response about the warranty on the wheel.

That is what worries me...they do not appear give a ____,after the enter key has been pushed. Hopefully they make it all good with you. How old is the wheel? V1 or V2 ?

The wheel is one month, order in December, shipped/received in middle January, broke down last Friday. So last one month.

I hope they support me properly, this wheel is in warranty, and i sent 2 emails explain all what happen and some videos to show the state of the wheel.

Its frustrating, one day the wheel is doing ok, awesome really, this wheel is awesome to play GT5, and next day i turn on the wheel to play again and it doesn't work. From nothing the motors keep vibrating, and the LCD goes crazy, show some strange numbers, and appears the 888 error.

Very sad indeed.

Its the V2 Welda.

So it appears that if I want to get a GT3 RS V2, it's worth te twenty extra bucks to get the logitech G27 and the better customer service...

I just ordered one last night. Hope I don't regret it! I'm aware of the risks but I figured I would take the chance on this one.

I wonder what the failure percentage rate is for fanatec wheels. It seems any wheel on the market you're taking your chances really. G27 seems most solid though. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Hum. im gonna put like this.

I had a DFP, it last the since first day i bought it to today, is still rolling on my cousin's house, after that i move on to a g25, the same thing like DFP, still roling on a friend house, and then i upgraded to a G27, same thing like the others, no more no less. I sold it but kept the pedals from the g27 to connect to the GT3 RS v2.

So ok i believe the GT3 rs its more faulty, or i guess they are all faulty, but i had just bad luck with the GT3, but one thing is sure, from all those wheel's the GT3 RS v2 is awesome, just have no competition (not talking about TS 500), i played GT5 with those wheels i had before and GT3 RS just stand out, its more smooth, force feedback is superb, great adjust ability, construction quality and the most important, the feeling when playing GT5.

I think my money was well spent, but in the other hand i expect from Fanatec properly support if a problem appears.

So like what i said, i contact Thomas and Fanatec main site, and i believe that things will gonna be solved quickly.

The wheel is well worth it guys ;)

O.K.....It just arrived in Norwood Ma @ 6:00 PM est ...it will be delivered tommorow. This is the hub the next town over from me. I will post when it arrives.

My GT3 RS V2, CSP, & shifter set are scheduled to arrive at work this Friday. I can't wait to get it home and hooked up to the obutto. Hopefully I'll make it in to work, as we're supposed to get another big snow storm Thursday night and Friday, and I live 85 miles from work....

So far the shipping has been no different from anywhere else I have ordered from except newegg. I swear, most of the time newegg gets my orders to me with in 2 to 3 days with standard shipping.

I have my tracking number from UPS and the GT3 and CSP are in transit and should be here friday.

Actually I have less info so far on the SST shifter I ordered at the same time.

OP: Looking forward to your first impressions with the wheel! How ever I have read that there is usually a delay in fully appreciating the wheel at first due to getting the settings down that suit you and your personal preference and also getting used to a belt driven FFB wheel coming from a geared wheel like logitechs.

We are all in the same boat here looking forward to feeling this ( Different) type of FFB wheel for the first time :dopey:
