Have you updated the wheelbase to the latest firmware? Does the wheel calibrate itself when you turn it on by rotating lock to lock? Have you then calibrated the centre afterwards?
Yes, and after it didn't work, I did it again and then got the "Cal" letters on the wheel once more and then pushed the left and right (appropriate) buttons and it then responded as being straight after calibration, as it did the first time.

When it starts, the wheel does the rotations; initially all the 9 lights come on (in three colours each). As the wheel rolls left then to the right, 3 ;lights come on, then 6 lights come on. I'm not sure if that should be 9 lights at the end of the wheelbase and wheel's initialisation, but on mine only 6 lights illuminate after the initial 9 lights illuminate on start up.

I will format the PS4 this evening and see if that makes a difference.

Right now, the PS4 sees any USB device attached to it - mice, keyboards, controllers - but the Elite PS4 wheelbase and the shipped wheel are not seen. I also tried it with the V3 pedals disconnected, but it made no difference. The Elite etc remains invisible to the PS4.

Here's how it should be(I mean the lights):

Try with disconnected steering wheel from the base.

I...snip... be nice about it.

Meh 4 m8 cap screws happy to post you 12 at no charge if you want.

Nice, on paper the DD2 seems like the better option unless you also want PS4 compatibility too then the podium racing wheel is the only option

back to the DDx, still haven't pulled the trigger asI am in no rush really so will see what news comes in the next month or so. I am committed to the fanatec eco anyway and happy with my experience over the past years so not jumping ship anytime soon.

Thanks.

I have now spoken to support at Fanatec. Nice bloke I think.

I only get 6 lights, not the whole 9 after the wheel goes through its "thing". And the rim doesn't illuminate the .18 or something that your wheel showed. There is not light at all on the wheel rim.

There's something wrong with it.

Could someone please explain to me what the "multi-post" is? I am quoting too much it seems, but I don't know what I am doing wrong! Please excuse my ignorance. But someone please make me wise!??

Thanks for the size, but where did you get them?

I bought large bolts with spring washers and nuts ... Haven;'t tightened anything yet because I'm not sure its staying ... Where did you buy them?

I was like you too, have the CSW V2, CSP V3, CS 1.5 Shifter, Forza rim with Universal XB hub, Formula Black and Formula Carbon but in the end I decided to go to the next level and buy high end gear and now all my Fanatec toys are just in the garage collecting dust, I don’t regret it since I did enjoy them but now I have much better gear that I won’t have to replace anytime soon

Since it is eating dust why not sell those 'low budget Fanatec toys' for a very low budget price? Who doesn't want a clean and tidy garage? I might be interested.

A multi post is when you're posting more than one post within a few minutes. If you have to say more, wait until somebody posted after your post or use the EDIT button to edit your post instead of posting several posts.

Sorry bud I don’t like selling stuff is more of hustle than anything else so I prefer to just lose the money

I apologize for derailing this post, we are here for news on the upcoming DD wheels from Fanatec and also the upcoming community event where there will be a shootout between all available DD systems (of course not an unbiased one, because you never bite the hand that feeds you) but any news is good news

They will have several competing wheels there, correct? And let people/press test them against their own new DDs? I'm not sure how that can be biased really. Sounds like a ballsy move. The people present will surely give their honest opinions to their readers.

Anyhow, this shows that Fanatec has confidence in their products IMO. Unless I completely misunderstand the format of this event.

And if they accept the invitations there will be at least one GTPlanet member of this event.

I wish I could go to this event but it is too far. As I said before in this thread, 1,448km total.

Guys note that you must have an invitation to attend the event.
I know. ;)

I'm so interested in the DD1 perhaps the DD2 that I find it so unfortunate that I can't come because of the distance.

I'm starting to regret that I won't be able to make it to the event (Sorry @Fanatec...) due to the distance and personal things at home. It would have been a perfect opportunity to try out these new DD wheels.

Thanks.

I sometimes write long posts. So if they cover three issues, that would be triple posting. So I guess its better to write a huge post. Which as I reader I find annoying! But them's the rules ...
As I explained, use the EDIT button and all is well.

For me the best way to test a new wheel is at home in my rig with the pedals I'm used to and in my favorite sim with my favorite car and setup for this car.In this way the smallest details in FFB can be felt.On this event i will have to drive with different pedals, not in my favorite sim and the car setup will most likely be safe(understeering).I'm not sure how useful this will be to experience the real capabilities of this new DD wheel.

Indeed, that is the best way to test these wheels but that also implies that you have to buy one. The @Fanatec... event gives the opportunity to test the wheels for free.

Having felt the difference between an AccuForce (first gen) and a G27, I'm convinced that a DD wheel is the way to go. IF the Fanatec DD wheels perform as said in the introduction live stream, I'm definitely sure that I want a Fanatec DD wheel.

That being said, I'm going to wait for reviews of honest reviewers.

It is always a good idea to wait for reviews, specially for expensive purchases like a direct drive wheel.

A DD wheel is the way to go now when buying your new wheel, once you do you will know what you were missing and you will never want to go back to the cheap wheels on the market.

This weekend will be the Fanatec event, so finally we will learn more about the DD bases and hopefully see something about the PS4 version as well

The only thing that I just found out and don’t like about the event, is that a few “YouTubers” (and not reviewers) will be going and those guys will say anything in exchange of some freebies

Well... in 7 months, I should be able to jump on a full replacement to my CSR and CSR pedals. For the moment I am setting $50 aside each week. My goal is $1400. That should be enough for a DD1, FM Uni-hub, CSP V3, CSS, CS Clamp, CSS clamp, and CSP tuning kit...

7 months should be in March. Its gonna be a hell of a self Birthday gift.

Now, I will be paying close attention to reviews and owners comments. Hopefully I will not be disappointed about the new wheels.

PS, dont tell the Mrs. about the plan. LOL.

BIG FAT EDIT BELOW!

Edit: the Wheelbase and a FM Uni-Hub would be $1400 alone. According to the configurator I need to clear $2300 in order to get everything... Sigh.

I could have sworn that I had a $1400 build? That must have been using one of the belt driven wheels.
(EDIT 2: Yup. CSW, and the BMW rim. Everything else stayed the same.)

The plan has changed to Next Year about this time @ $50 every week. I should be able to pocket more than $50 each week, but if I get too greedy then the wife will be on to me. LOL.
