Quick question about mounting hardware for the DD1. Does it come with screws? I bought the Formula V2 from RSeat and they provided some 5 & 10 mm screws which I hope are compatible with this thing. I'm still praying that the RSeat is stable enough to hold the DD1... the company assured me it is but I think I'm the only person in the world to own the Formula V2 with side arms made specifically for the DD1.
The Podium direct drive systems do not include hard mount screws.

I Wouldn't be surprised if the Podium bases started shipping early April. It's chinese new year now, so the factories should be up and running again within a week, I guess.

Fingers crossed. Do we think it just takes standard 20 mm screws and washers to attach side mounts to the DD1? I have the RSeat Formula V2 and that's all they included with the rig.

Maximum 82 days left to wait. If they come up with another delay i will cancel preorder and buy an osw kit. If the fanatec dd is released then somewhere in the future i can still buy it, if the reviews are good. I dont want wasting my lifetime anymore by waiting. I want drive with dd :D

When were they meant to be released?

I definitely think it'll be worth the wait ... looking forward to seeing how it connects to the side arms of my RSeat Formula V2.

Just got my pedals in this week so I'm looking forward to seeing how the DD1 connects to the custom side arms on the Formula V2 ... hopefully it's 100% stable as I was promised by RSeat.

Preordered the Podium Racing Wheel a few weeks ago with the CSL LC pedals. Can't hardly wait.

But in the meantime I need to make some preparations to my rig. I've got an old Playseat Evolution (at least that's what I think it is, it's the "Solberg Edition" which was sold here in Norway). Planning to take it to a metal workshop and weld on some braces underneath the pedal stand (which is already flexing a bit with the T3PA pedals) and I need to weld on some struts or something to where the base goes.

But I just realized that my T500 wheel base has an angle to it, but the DD one is straight, originally I planned to just drill the necessary holes to mount it, but now I'm thinking I need to have made something like the thing you get with the Clubsport base. Too bad it isn't available for sale (true?). This sucks a bit because it's a much harder and time consuming bit to make yourself.

And I just read here that the mounting screws you need aren't actually supplied with the base, which I think is a bit strange, but okay. Does anyone know what kind of screws I need or have any input for the other things I mentioned? Also, there isn't a drilling template for the underside of the base for some reason, any help there?

If you go here https://www.fanatec.com/eu-en/wheel...net&utm_campaign=General+Links&a_aid=gtplanet and select downloads there is a drilling template to download. And from that the mounting holes look to be 6.5mm diameter.

@DomB_Fanatec I purchased an RSeat Formula V2 with custom side arms that were apparently pre-drilled for the DD1. Are there specific screws that I need to buy at the hardware store or would they just be whatever was packaged with the RSeat?

Oh! I didn't realize, my bad. Thank you :)

@DomB_Fanatec you wouldn't happen to be able to get me one of those angled mounts that come with the ClubSport?
Please contact our support team to request this. Note that while the angle mount can attach to a Podium wheel base using the triangular hole pattern, the mount wasn't designed for this and isn't an optimal solution. Two things to consider: the triangular pattern is slightly offset to one side due to backwards compatibility to our Porsche bases, and the mount is much more 'shallow' than the length of the Podium wheel bases, meaning that the back end of the Podium base will go slightly 'below' the plane of the surface you'd be mounting to, so it might need to hang over the back of the wheel plate, or raised above the plate somehow.

I also recommend that you go ahead with reinforcing the wheel base plate on your PlaySeat before trying to use it with a Podium wheel base.

If the bolts they've supplied are marked as intended for Podium wheel base side mounts, then they should be appropriate, but that is something you should verify with RSeat.

Thanks @DomB_Fanatec - I reached out to RSeat customer service.... they are a little hard to get in touch with ... I feel like I'm one of the few people with the Formula V2 that is equipped with side arms but they assured me that it is predrilled for the DD1 so we'll see.

Sitting 2m away from a 26" screen must be an awesome immersion of driving. LOL :banghead:

What would you recommend? VR? I decided to go with a 34 inch monitor which will be placed about 1 meter from my eyes ... essentially the same setup they use in F1 e-sports. I plan on picking up a VR headset once the F1 series adds VR support.

I'm still eagerly awaiting youtube reviews on the DD1. Especially Barry's review (Sim Racing Garage). At the moment I'm still more interested in the FeelVR but that can change very quickly.

Hi Dom. Thanks so much for updating the thread. Can you explain your comment about the offset holes, please? Are you talking about the angled mount or the DD wheelbase itself? The drilling template on the website looks as thought the triangle of holes on the wheelbase is orientated on the centre line of the DD wheelbase:

I'm referring to the offset in the mounting holes of the angle adapter included with the ClubSport wheel bases. The holes in the base are indeed aligned with the centre.

I have not seen such a statement from Mr.Jackermeier.

This is either a bad joke or give us a link.
