Is that even possible? Considering that a Rx-8 does it in 6.3sec(from C/D), but the Civic is lighter. So I'm not that sure.

Of course it is - its a fact!

I'm almost sure that's not correct. :indiff:
After searching the net just now I didn't find anything to suggest the Type R could go under 6 second on 0-60mph.

Maybe someone else would like to look into that? :D

In any case, I just don't think of the Civic as a contender in the 2.0 class when it comes to the competition we are talking about... I mean, the Evo 8 MR, whether you like it or not, is super fast considering its displacement. So fast that I would consider it in a class above cars like the Civic. :ouch:

Why would anyone else need to look into it? I am correct!

Why would i lie?

Heres proof - if you require more its not a problem!

Why do you regard a car in a higher class just because it can go faster? that is just wrong IMO. How easy is it to buy an EVO8? (if you have the cash) very easy - now let me see you source an EK9? oh and does an EVO8 have a hand finished engine? Not to mention without its turbo 100hp per litre?

When I searched "ek9 type r 0-60" on google, this came up

The numbers even match the ones he said, so I think he got his info from here.

Nope i did not get my info from here, and of course the figures are going to match as that is thee figures from Honda about that car!!!

- infact i'm surprised no one knows of the EK9's performance

I love Honda's especially the b-series engine's i have researched on them for a long time now by far the greatest is the b16b which is the heart of the EK9.

As it seems, then I can't deny the fact that this is a really nice car, since not many cars I know of can do 0-60 in 5.7sec with 185hp and is even a FF!!

As for the Evo talk, I believe all cars have their own advantage and disadvantage. For example, when my mom was deciding what car to buy in the 50k range, I told her to get a Wrx STI. :dopey: Of course we didn't since its a manual and uncomfortable for day to day driving(what my mom feels not me:sly:) In the end she decided to get a Benz Suv, its not bad and very comfy, but deep inside my heart, I still long for the STI :sly: After all this gibberish, Im trying to say that the Type R and Evo are totally different cars, and each should be compared to their own type (eg. Evo vs STI, Type R vs Focus SVT...)

Ach! I'm so torn!! In this tightly-packed triangle sits the RS200 Sexcort, The Opera S2000 (God of the Nür!!), or the 1997 Exige!! :( Well...uhm.... *clicks other*

Cheers,

From Wikipedia: "...In the most popular Mazda family of engines, the 13B, this consists of two rotors displacing approximately 650 cc (cubic centimeters) each per rotor flank, a total of approximately 1300 cc or 1.3 l (liters). The way to compare Wankel volume to reciprocating engine volume, is to compare the volume of gas ignited at 1000 rpm at the output to the gearbox. When this is done, the 13B has an equivalent of 2.6 L displacement. The engine will need to use enough fuel to heat up that much volume, to produce the pressurised gas that drives the engine, and so there is no reason to think that there is a magic design of Wankel engine that produced a lot of power from a small displacement. In fact the shorter stroke time indicates that more unburnt fuel should be wasted in the exhaust."

This may go some way to explain the RX-7's superiority.

I personally voted for the Elises - they all handle beautifully (perhaps unrealistically so) and I have probably clocked more miles in them than any other.

This week on the WRS is so cool, there using the Suzuki GSX-R/4 with max horsepower:drool:.
I hope to win in my division this week:D.

Too many choices so I'll put it down to driveline.

AWD = Spec C no doubt.
RWD = S15 Silvia or R32 GTS-t. Both are under 2.0L (SR20DET and RB20DET)....and when worked, both are in the low 10 zone with awesome handling.
FWD = DC5 ITR. Quick on the 1/4, quick around corners, quick full stop. :)

Mafs!!

Everyones favorite can't be on the poll. I am sorry that the RS200 didn't make it, but I have an "other" choice for that reason and I am sure if you post that you love the RS200 you will get your point across. 👍

,SORRY ! :guilty:
