toyota 7 race car 1970
a bit on the pricey side, but you cant argue with 900 hp and 620kg weight, rear wheel drive and great weight distribution. its been known to put FGTs to shame!

1) RUF CTR Yellowbird
Looks beautiful, sounds great, really aggressive to drive. You really feel like you've opened the gates to hell when you step on it in this car, and your opponents agree as you blast past them. Too bad this car isn't really competitive against most drivers. With sports hards you can maybe keep up in the corners if you really summon your spiritanimal give it 105% concentration but there's no way to make an overtaking move until you get to a straight. It's pretty easy to defend with this car though, as it has so much pace on the straight even if someone gets alongside at corner exit, you only need 2-3 seconds of straight to leave them behind again.

Overall it might not be the fastest (I think a 500pp NSX will beat it even at stock 530pp), but certainly the most fun to drive.

Ps. With turbo upgrade and more than 550pp the car becomes even better. It feels like you've started an earthquake when you step on it even on a relatively straight road. Really stimulating to drive.

2) RUF BTR
It's like a Yellowbird-lite. A bit easier to drive, a bit slower on the straight and a bit less aggressive sounding, but still beautiful (maybe even better looking than the bird, hard to say). Same thing applies, you can maybe keep up with others in the corners but overtaking is difficult. Doesn't have quite as much pace on the straight so it doesn't have such a clear one-sided advantage as the bird, but it's such a fun car to drive I still pick it sometimes in 500pp rooms, unless the drivers are top-class.

3) Honda NSX Type-R '02
Not quite as beautiful as it's earlier versions but my god this car is great to drive. With default suspension, default LSD etc, only removable power upgrades to take it to 500pp it's loose but still really fast. The limit of grip is at a high level, and at the limit there's slight, controllable oversteer. In most corners I have the wheel straight or at a ~10 degree countersteer. Just the way I like it. 👍

4) Lamborghini Miura Bertone Prototype
First of all, this is maybe the most beautiful car in the world, let alone in GT5. Second comes the performance, which is unbelievable. The way this thing accelerates compared to other cars is unmatched, but unlike the Yellowbird this doesn't come with a hindrance in the corners. In stock form the car has quite a lot of understeer and it's hard to put the power down because technically it doesn't have an LSD (the default differential values are 0/0/0), but after adding a custom LSD with default settings I was immediately hitting NSX times on the Nordschleife, and the handling feels quite similar aswell. With this car's unbelievable straight line acceleration it's possible to overtake in places you've never overtaken before. I love it. 👍

5) Lancia Stratos
The most fun car to drive at 400pp, and gets even better when you tune it to about 450-480pp. I tried it even at 500pp but it was a bit too loco for that level  (and also you have to add a turbo or aero to get it that high and I disapprove of both especially in this car, which is meant to be an agile and responsive beast). Has fantastic straight line speed (people slipstream past me on the final straight on Nürb, but I pass them again even without slipstreaming, that's how fast it is) and is manageable in the corners, really responsive handling. Also with racing exhaust, the sound... the SOUND! It's the only car which is actually loud enough to cover up all the transmission whine, all you hear is angry Ferrari V6 ready to jump out of the engine bay and give everyone in the near vicinity a swift kick to the face.

The roadcar with racing exhaust sounds exactly like the rally version, which you can hear here:

Also it looks gorgeous.

(Ps. stay tuned for Stratos Overtakes part 2 :))

Kasim Gilani: Another Welcome to GTPlanet!

My Top 5 has drastically changed since getting a wheel for x-mas. It has changed the game entirely, but anyway, that's another discussion for another thread..

1. Citroen GT race car (purely bad ass!)
2. Audi R8 (any one will do, Chrome edition is my fav)
3. BMW M3 chrome line
4. any of the Nissan GT-R's from 07 and newer
5. Peugeot 908 HDI-FAP (either one)

*edit..
oh man, forgot about Corvette's! those are great too!
Top 5 is just not enough...

1) Nissan GT-R Spec-V '07 - GODZILLA! When I was a DS3 player this car was my beast at the Nurburgring, it has so much speed off of the corners. It is too bad one needs to be timid on entry because of its weight. But, my favorite thing about this car is that when it is fully-upgraded it still handles very well.

2) Honda Integra Type R (DC5) '04 - This car has grip! It is amazing at 450pp, it can hold up against MR cars at that range too, not to mention a phenomenal power-to-weight ratio.

3) Chevrolet Impala #42 Juan Pablo Montoya NASCAR '10 - This is my car for NASCAR. I have a great setup for IMS and road courses with this car. Try to beat me at Indianapolis with it...

4) Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II '91 - A driver's car; you need to concentrate while manning this vehicle. It is rewarding when you pull of a great four-wheel drift with this car, but don't be surprised if it snaps to a wild oversteer. This car is also a beast on tracks with long straights.

5) Mazda Roadster Touring Car - The original spec racer. I have had hours of fun with this car running spec races against others online at Spa-Francorchamps when the first batch of DLC came out for GT5. This car handles great out of the box, and it is easy to tune thereafter.

Right here.

I currently own all Ferrari's because ... well ... they are Ferrari's
As for driving: I just love BMW's in the endurance races, just did the 300KM (first endurance) in my 135i. Going to do the Nurburgring 4 hours in it too if I can lap it in 9 mins, if not I'm going to use the M4 coupé!
For me the BMW's are the most fun cars to drive stock or with sports tune ups.

08' Audi RS6, sounds amazing with a stage 3 turbo on it and racing exhausts. Mine is bright yellow with a black carbon hood and black Enkei rims. :sly:

BMW M3 CSL
Ruf RGT
Lotus Motorsport Elise
Lambo SV
Corvette C6 Z06
Ferrari 430 Scud
Subaru STi Spec C RA
Mitsu Lancer EVO RS
Ford Focus RS
Ford Mustang Cobra R

This is my list from earlier in the thread. I have to add one now though. I'm adding this because we can change wheels on standard cars now. The RUF RGT is my absolute favorite car. tuned to around 500pp it is the best handling car in the game IMO

1. Volkswagen Beetle '49/'66
I've always been a Beetle junkie, I drive a '76 Conv. In real life.

2. Jaguar E-Type Coupe '61
Beautiful body and engine sound. Drive it daily.

3. Chevrolet Corvette Convertible '54
Beautiful engine note. The first of the Corvette family. Even though it isn't that fast, there's nothing wrong with going for a relaxing cruise in it

4. Alfa Romeo TZ2 Carrozeria de Zagato
This car is amazing. As close to a 60's le Mans style racer as you'll ever get

5. Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione 08
Great engine sound, nice interior. Handling doesn't matter to me.

Has to be my F40 . Had a poster of it on my wall as a kid and a model of it . Now I get to sort of drive one and live out my childhood dream . :) happy chappy

Bentley Speed 8.
Stunningly good after setting it up, and boosting the turbo!

Audi R10 TDI.
Just drives beautifully even though it's not the fastest.

Nissan Calsonic GT-R.
The best sound I've come across so far.

787B.
Just so damn fast! Like a swarm of bees on speed.

Aston Martin Vantage V12.
All you need do is stick some racing tyres on it. Bliss.
