Favourite Iconic Need For Speed Car?

I don't see the hype about the BMW, looks rather generic.

The Diablo is The Diablo. Everyone knows The Diablo. I can talk to anyone on the bus about The Diablo and they will know what I'm talking about.

Differing tastes I guess.

As for the iconic car, personally i choose the Shelby Mustang from The Run. I was obsessed with the car the first time i saw it on The Run. It looks simple yet you know it mean business.

I started mid NFS with NFS Carbon, and when I did it was the M3 all the way. But when I downloaded the earlier games such as all the Hot Pursuits, I have to say I absolutely adore the Diablo.. It is like my childhood poster car and to see it in NFS it was just beautiful. Sorry M3, but the Diablo takes my vote

Voted the Diablo, even though it was iconic from the first one, not only in the third.

Not in the poll, but sure personal favorites of mine and iconic in their own right:

Ford GT90 from NFS2

I would go with one that is unlisted.

In Pro Street I would go with the DLC car Porsche GT3 RS, that car was an awesome grip car in that game, could win every race with no tuning no problem.

My favorite of all may very well be the 935 Moby Dick from Porsche Unleashed. That car was a blast to drive once you learned how to control the rotation in the corners.

I also was happy to see the GT90 in NFS2. I think that was the only game I have ever had that had that car in it. It also had the Mustang Mach III if memory serves.

That M3 GTR from the first Most Wanted. It was so enigmatic the way it was presented, and it could've had the most unique identity for an NFS car, until they decided to stuff it up in Carbon.

I agree 100%. Especially at the 1:10 minute mark when they stop, and spin the camera slowly around the yellow Lamborghini 360 degrees. An iconic moment I will never forget. What an amazing game. Still one of my top favorite NFS games of the series. Also in my top 5 of favorite game intros. I also designed my 69 Camaro exhaust from the Lamborghini Murcielago.

Too bad it wasn't in the options for the vote.

That's where the Need for Speed series started with the customization, and that started the love for japanese cars i have today. At the end of the day, Nfs Underground reigns supreme above all other Nfs Games (IMHO).

That's where the Need for Speed series started with the customization, and that started the love for japanese cars i have today. At the end of the day, Nfs Underground reigns supreme above all other Nfs Games (IMHO).

That is a very valid opinion but I think that Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit 2 were the best of that Gen. Most Wanted had much better handling, better car choice and had an absolutely epic Original Soundtrack (Just listen to the OST below)

I think you would have a very different opinion if you grow up in the 90s and started with Road & Track's NFS

Not saying that NFSU isn't great btw. I played the hell out of that game and NFSU2 back in the day. But the NFS series as a whole has 3 very distinct eras and it's impossible to say one game is the absolute best when games from different eras are incomparable.

Exotic Era: R&T NFS - NFS HP2 (best game probably NFS3 HP or NFS PU)
Custom Era: NFSU - NFS Undercover (best game either NFSU2 or NFS MW)
Identity Crisis Era: NFS Shift - NFS Rivals (best game arguably NFS HP 2010)

I have played the past games, and i have games from NFS HP2, on up.

I dont see the Battle Machine RX7 on the poll but I'll take the BMW M3 GTR as my favorite because...
1. Its a race car.(You dont see a race car being turned into a hot car and it would make sense since Cross was driving the Corvette C6.R and imagine a Le Mans battle between the M3 and C6.R....)
2. It has that awesome livery
3. The rarity of using it on career.

The M3 GTR is really cool, but throwing an actual race car in the mix of NFS world never fit right in my eyes. Doesn't make any sense, having a GT3 car out there with street cars.

Favorite cars in NFS are the Koenigsegg Agera R (it appeared in NFS Most Wanted 2012 and the movie) and the BMW M3 GTR from Most Wanted 2005.
