If you think about it, the BMW M3 GTR in the first Most Wanted is kind of overkill for its game, because it's a race car compared to every other car in the game which are all road cars. And in Carbon, they sort of got its performance right; not a particularly high top speed but superb handling nonetheless.

From the looks of it, you wouldn't know it's a race car because it has a somewhat regular shape (Bimmers at that time look boxy in general) for a car, a body kit (fully functional BTW) that makes it wider than a standard car (in this car a regular E46 M3) and it has a massive rear wing at the back (fully functional, as well) all features reminiscent of a modded street car. But it's not, and it eats Mercedes SLRs, Carrera GTs and Murcielagos for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Oh, and Gallardos as well for snack time in the afternoon.

And that is why the M3 GTR gets my vote.

The reason it's so overpowered is because of all the work you have to do to get it back.

Definitely has to be the Diablo. In terms of true NFS games, I just can't consider the Underground/Most Wanted series as the same category.

Also, I seem to remember the Ferrari F50 as the feature car on NFS II.

I'm wondering why the M3 wasn't that overpowered when you first play career mode in MW 2005?

@JASON_ROCKS1998 why the Porsche 911 Carrera(991) isn't part of the voting option?

Because you haven't done very much work on the car, it was just fast enough to beat the other people, then when razor took it he did some serious work on it, and then made it soo much quicker.

Why would Razor feel the need to have the player's M3 GTR sabatoged at the beginning of the game if it wasn't powerful already? You wipe the floor with everyone during the short time you have it. And you also have Cross who wants the car since he knows for a fact it's not street legal

i don't know. That part always confused me. And where he got the m3 gtr in the first place did too. i finished underground 2 with a skyline r34, then went to most wanted, and got that bimmer. I was like what the heck happened here?

I think the "Player" did some work to the M3..only oil change. But is it possible to modify a race car?

As we all know from GT, an oil change can do a lot of good for you. :D

Most race cars have a restrictor that restricts the air flow and can therefore decrease the amount of horse power - removing that restrictor is therefore a good method to enhance your car's performance. Other than that, I don't think anything else besides the installation of a nitrous oxide system and maybe the removal of the restrictor has been done to the car, since it looks and sounds like its racing counterpart.

Yes. But at the most, possibly a new turbo, because i hear a turbo when it shifts on my tv. Maybe mine is really good. If you notice, the nos time is also shorter but more powerful.

The BMW M3 GTR has been my favorite car since well... Ever, other than that Darius's Audi Le Mans or R8 is pretty cool

But don't forget how freaking amazing those NFS edition cars from the PS2 edition of hot pursuit 2 were. the yellow blackFord Mustang SVT Cobra, and that blue orange Mercedes CLK GTR they were my favorite cars in that game, they had the same cars on the non PS2 versions but they gave them pretty lame colours :/

So I guess during the beginning of Most Wanted, the M3 GTR had a restrictor before Razor took it off to make the car overpowered?

M3. First time i drove it i fell in love with it. I love koenigseggs more, but the joy i got with driving the M3 GTR is something i would never get in any NFS game.

Ah, the BMW is most recognized. Because someone I know, actually built it. Boy was it spot on. You would've thought he magically took it out of THE ORIGINAL (NOT 2012! Although 2012 is pretty cool too) Most Wanted. I'm not just saying this as a YouTuber who's name inherits a little bit of the car's name, or as a Need For Speed Hero: (Look up Need For Speed Most Wanted 2012 NFS Heroes Pack). But I'm saying this because of a few facts. Some people try to even bribe BMW to let them purchase one. It's not Street Legal in the U.S.

Darius' LeMans Quattro brings back vivid Carbon memories...

I had a Murcielago that cleaned up every race, but when it got to the final confrontation, I put all my money into building up an SLR McLaren to take him on! (Cos it was the last car I unlocked, so it must have been the fastest, right? 10 year old logic )

Actually there's one thing I noticed in the poll selection, there is the Nissan Skyline option but which Skyline are we referring to?

Either the Eastsiderz Eddie Skyline?
latest

Or the tutorial Skyline from Drag/Drift tutorial videos (which would later become the Player's car in NFSU2's prologue before Caleb wrecked it.)?

BTW, since we now have NFS2015, I wonder what is the iconic car for NFS2015? Is it the E3 BRZ (the one shown the E3 demo of NFS2015) or the RWB Porsche 911 (930)?

I think Eddie's Skyline is what they talked about, because more people know about it thanks to NFSMW 2012 in the Heroes Pack (Let's GO NFS Heroes!!!). Here's a pic from NFSMW 2012 of the Skyline.

Now, Need For Speed (2015), the most Iconic car, Might be the Porsche, or the M3. I mean, the M3 has been in 3 different games (Shown below).

However, if you look on the Deluxe Bundle Case, the M3 is on it.

I have a feeling that the E3 BRZ is more iconic than the Porsche since it's the first car that we've seen in NFS2015 being customized for the very first time ever since NFS stopped featuring customization after Undercover/Nitro.

Eddie's Skyline from UG1. 350Z is the option for Underground 2.

Added the RWB Porsche for NFS15

Looks like the M3 is still in first place.

I guess it's safe to say that whenever you talk about NFS (even casual NFS players), the M3 will always be mentioned as NFS' mascot and the car that defies everything about street racing.

Come to think of it, is it even possible to own a race car for the streets?

The M3 is available to purchase, but it costs a fortune. It won't be in the same form as the M3 we know, it will be instock form (BodyKit wise)

It might be possible to take a race car and convert it to make it road legal, so the M3 GTR in NFS could be street legal, but it's not likely.

Umm... The RWB might not be NFS 2015 Iconic Car. It might be the M3
The M3 GTR is the iconic car for MW2005, which is likely the only reason it was added to NFS15 in the first place. The RWB Porsche is the Build icon in game AND is seen in the trailers AND is on all of the box arts.

However, the M3 had it's own trailer too, if I recall correctly. I do believe 7/10 people who have the game, purchased the DLC to get the M3. Remember, this car has been in 3 games so far.

Yes, but had it not been in Most Wanted, and gotten the fame it did, it most likely wouldn't have been included in the game.
