Oh how could I forget fish & chips? Love it! Shame there's only 1 place (outside pubs) that sells it here.

There aren't any places that serve fish & chips here. :(
Bars typically have them, but it can be a pain for takeout. Jack in the Box used to have a nasty one I used to like(:P), but I believe they were discontinued. 👎

When I'm at an English chippy there is only one choice, fresh battered cod, chips, scraps (the left over bits of fish batter) & mushy peas.

At the local Chinese it's got to be hot & spicy soup, Hunan beef, special fried rice, spring rolls, salt & pepper chips along with a carton of gravy, LUSH!

Whoever doesn't say Fish and Chips should gtfo imo. Sorry but true. Battered sausages/burgers are acceptable substitutes for fish. Nothing else. Mushy peas are pretty much a must as well.

Mushy peas :yuck: Curry sauce FTW.

I personally am quite partial to an Indian Curry, I love a good Tikka Masala, with a Naan Bread and some Papadums. What's yours?

I love curry, but it's not really takeaway for me, but that's because I eat there and don't leave until I finish.

I do however, enjoy a Lamb Sharwarma wrap, Gyros, Foot Long at Subway, NY Fries, or some Fried Rice dish at a Chinese take-out.

Haddock > Cod for me..
Plaice is good when you can find a place that has it, some chippys have a huge selection of fish, but as long as they're battered it's all good! :P

I like fish & chips now and again. I saw this thing on TV the other day and they were discussing the difference between Cod and Plaice, the guy was saying that Plaice lives it's watery existence as a couch potato, whereas Cod is the kind of fish that goes down the gym everyday, apparently...

Plaice is a type of flat fish, they swim slowly along the bottom etc, or sit around waiting for food etc, whilst cod is a pelagic fish, so is constant on the move.

Yeah you can't quite beat a parmo as they call it in its home town. I prefer them to McDonald's (where I work) and you obviously don't live far away from me Seismica.

I moved to Sunderland for university, but i'm originally from Stockton, not far at all. Thankfully I have family I can come to visit in Stockton if I want a proper parmo (And to see the family of course :D).

Chicken French over Pasta.

True.
