I start to think these guys who can run under 2'15 found some bug again(like subaru...) because after T1 Redwings and me we can only fallow them but can't overtake. I spent 2 hours to improve my set-up but I could run only 2'15.709. My T1 was 58.2xx, T2 1'49.6xx.

I think i'll try again this combo even though its hard for me.
best time i've manage at free trial is 2:16:8xx
so i have a lot of work to do.:yuck:

Laszlo,

You were racing me last night and maybe you've watched my lap from GTDB, you know I'm not using any clutch or bug or anything like that, and in my best hotlap which is 0.220 or so away from 2'14.9, I can see where I could go faster.

I am absolutely NOT one of the fastest guys here, people like Timppaq and CarlPKY were among the Top 25 drivers for GT Academy in the world. Are you really surprised that these guys can go at least 0.3s faster than me around a long track like Suzuka? These guys were nearly 0.5s a lap faster than me at Indy which is nearly a whole 40 seconds shorter.

Zabeu is legendary in the NSX, I'm not sure if you were around in the 600PP S2 Suzuka days where people like him, GTNDC-Honeycar, Timppaq and Truth123 would absolutely destroy the opposition in the NSX.

It's like the 512BB at Suzuka, MR cars on S-tyres around Suzuka require a very very specific driving style to pull out all of the tenths. Rudi's lap, Carl's lap and Timo's lap in the NSX 550PP S3 have 58.8 or 58.7 T1s, I can only do 59.0 T1 so I'm losing the time in T1, not the fast sections like up to spoon or down to 130R, so it's never going to be something like a speed bug or acceleration bug. It's just pure talent that these guys have 👍

All the best
Maz

Great video's Rudi...👍

Shame i couldn't join you guys tonight, looked like i missed some great racing again :grumpy:

spy.

All you lurking drivers, please quit bringing the wrong girl to the dance, please? Oh and stop all the shenanigans.

I brought the wrong girl to the dance, only she's an old dear in need of a zimmer frame

GTP_Billyjoebobx ??, two times my screen showed at least half a cars length betweeen us in Degner, so apologies.

Cheers for putting up with us guys, seems my connection is still not 100% and the dreaded lag lurks still even though only slightly, apologies if your one of those that suffered......Goodnight.

Thanks to everyone for the great races tonight

BTH_Lacko thanks very much for posting your tune I took 3 tenths off my previous best time on only my second lap in free run with a 2.16.5xx

Plus it feels great to drive very stable with good grip
Thanks again 👍

just, Keep on Rolling. 👍

Great vids, and great racing as always Rudi... Love the commentry. :)

Been trying off and on the last week to better my lap time in free run.. Had several .8 T2's.. But always stuffed Casio.. Best lap in race with massive slip was a 2'14.36x last night.

👍

I've done some races here this weekend, but haven't been able to do anything under 2'16 in a race and only 2'15.8 in free run, but now changed couple of things to my setup and got 2'15.127 :D

Will be in for couple of races later 👍

Edit: just noticed I was on 100% weight on that lap :ouch:. Back to high 2'15's with 107% weight :banghead:

If lurkers are becoming a problem then perhaps it's time to for us to do away with the publicly announced race times and revert to using our members only chat room and run things from there?

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/addonchat.php?do=popup

Its a good idea and it would mean members are being more sociable 👍

It might be a problem for people that might not be able to get on their PC a particular night (for example the mrs is sitting on it) and there is more chance of interfering with someone elses race schedule but I suppose you could adjust the time again.

That's a really valuable idea that will finally give the blacklist some real clout and meaning, I think it should definitely be explored in the near future 👍

All the best
Maz

Another option is to put the times in the registry only forum and post a link to there, although this does mean people will have to run the qualifier to participate (I think this has been suggested before as well).

We could retain this thread for its current purpose, but only have the scheduled times posted in the chat room announcement header? So all anyone would need to do is pop into the chat, take note of the times and then give the PC back to the misses. ;)

Oh, and flame anyone who posts here saying "in at 05".

Re: 2'14.xxx lap times -

I've been exchanging thoughts on the track, the car and its setup with three drivers who have gone 2'14 in free run, and I can assure you that apart from very similar gear ratios, the tunes don't have many things in common. Some have no toe at all, and some feature a hefty amount of it. Some are soft, and some are stiff. Some run more camber on the front, others on the rear. As far as I can remember, all are on S3/S3 and at 107% weight though (I don't think I'm divulging too big a secret there).

Anyone who seriously thinks there's anything fishy involved please feel free to fetch one or more of the replays from gtdb and take the time to study them. I'm convinced you'll find that it's the driving and not the cars that make the difference. 👍

While I do agree with you, I only agree to a certain extent. Personally, I believe it's 80% Driver and 18% set-up (and 2% chance). I bet if you had all 3 drivers try each other's set-ups, you would likely find that they do best on their set-up because it's what they're comfortable with. If you're not comfortable with the car (which is all setting it up does, is make it comfortable), then chances are your laps will be slower than if you are.

That's just my 2 cents.

No problem Maz! On the first lap going through the esses you had spun and was almost pointing the wrong way so i thought you would've turned to a ghost but unfortunately you didn't and i clipped you  I had a shocking first 2 laps but got it going and we closed a fair gap on group in front !

Lacko, i did 6 laps with 100% your tune, = 2.15,539

Thanks Rudi for trying my set-up. You were 0.17 sec. fester than me 👍 so I have to still improve my set-up. I'll try it tonight just I have to go to manage something before. See you on the track.
