Well I rewound when you pitted and watched.
Your mechanics refused to walk over to you car (have you forgotten their wages?) and your wheels disappeared then reappeared. Then your tyre indicator flashed like a police beacon and you were stuck. I believed you anyway :D
BTW you had the most spectacular spin I have seen in ages just after the corkscrew (forget the lap) I was laughing so hard I nearly choked on my coffee :D
I still want one of your 'artistic' dickens like reports though!!!

Just wanted to mention Flood who punched above his weight today and KN who was very clean and raced well 👍

Nice! Always a sweet feeling making a last minute win :)

After a few hours practising Spa on and off tonight, I put down a best of 1:46:502, which to put in perspective, the current lap record for the latest version of the circuit is 1:47.263, set by Seb Vettel in his RBR. Personally I'm going for Kimi's old record of 1:45:108, set in 04. But that record was set on the track that had 19 turns instead of this one with 20.

Despite how rather pleased I am with my time so far, I'm expecting that to be smashed when I visit this thread tomorrow. :P
 
R.I.P. M Simonchelli,i watched almost all of his 250 races and he did stand out,not only for his afro hair do,feel so sorry for V Rossi,Edwards.....
Pigboy must change his stratejy,falling back to last straight away isnt working.I dont know if its the distance but the race seems to go a bit slow and it always catches me out.i cant practice for it.and grip seems different too but maybe its me.anyways,went to 14th,a hit a few cars but not intentionally,cut a few corners by mistake too.ran laps 10-20 from 42-55 sseconds down on first.Then 2 15 lap stints,first on MED tyes,last stint on softs.Followed etid for a while,i had good tyres but i was a lap down so didnt try to pass,just tried not to out brake myself after the slipstreams(was trying for a sub 1 minute lap).Some slipstreams were happening with no car in front of me again(lag i suspect,went off at corkscrew).i started to feel very hot and sweat was puoring out of me head,forcing me to stop and dry my face at lap 45~,it was stinging my eyes(preventitive measures will be taken).Guess i might join the AUTOMATIC brigade now,seems to be paying off for others.Also will look at stratejy a bit more.Whats this i heard about not being able to repass until the lap end if lapped???My audio was faulty,dropping in and out.i wonder if tracks can go online like cars...sorry to anybody i hit when passing.
 
Hey, saw my driver profile. Just a few notes:
1. My best finish is 4th, not 5th
2. I'm ranked 9th, not 10th
3. Does last season count as one for me? I only did Nuerburgring 24h, the very last race.
 
Rhyf,do you get any lag or slowing down of the track when internationals join the room,does it change at all??
 
Oh and let me know if your mad at me coz of incidents,although no obvious incidents to me but lag changes that !!.ill put my side of it on you tube and post here,i can do that again now...although my laps arnt worth showing any more.Just sampled spa,what a track,just like in F1,fast flowing,nascars,DTM,GT500,we raced em all,came 3rd a few times too...

Second this Race !

Qualy was awsome from my side 4th *YEAH* I can fight for Podium me thought.
Lights went out and my Start was good. No chance for the Drivers behind me.
I covered the inner line of first Turn, got a small knock from Brett and as I wanted to accelerate ellisnutt slightly pushed me in the grass
=> I tried my best not to spin
=> I sent NMusolino out
=> as a Gentleman I waited for his recover
=> Last.

I was so angry I almost RQ´ed the Race. But I moved on and due to my anger I screwed the first 2 laps (36seconds behind after those laps -_-).
Pitted at Lap 16 RM´s wheren´t that what I had in mind after Testing, they where awful.
After that I did consistant 1:02´s 1:03´s and went up in the Board.
Was short in front of Flood but I couldn´t have made a 1 pitter => made a second pitstop (only Tires where canged).
Lost 20 seconds on Flood. In addition I came out between Smithazz, Rhyf and Pagey
=> I couldn´t go my pace
=> At the End I had a 7 second gap.
7th as Result is ok but...

And after that race I wanted to stay in the Lobby for some mixed racin, but that on incident at Spa gave me the rest => went sleeping

Well the race for me was rubbish because there was so much on and off from me and other drivers happening to be there where I was >>>>>>>> unexpectedly...............Start wasn't good moved over then got hit from behind and got severe engine damage and one thing after another happened and as usual I went down the rankings.... (I know my place) bottom now as I cannot seem to get any higher .... through incidents that happen to me which are out of my control... I do have some practice but on the day of course there are other drivers that want to get to the front so I just tend half the time to move over to save collision.. Sometimes that works sometimes it does't...... but Hey Ho another race next weekend ..lets see what this one can play for me.... but overall I want to dismiss this race ... I started .... raced.... and finished ( at least this time I didn't get disconnected).....
 
Audiospark- Thats a good time as a starter point, after some tuning and a little practice you should shave a couple of seconds off. Race pace (with a draft maybe) is approx 1.42.xxx. Getting into a race is the best way to get better :)

PB- Its a shame your location is letting you down mate, something has happened as you were mr podium before. Laguna is very unforgiving for spins and overtaking chances hopefully Spa will be better for you. Try and find europeans with the track to practice or get up early on a wednesday and practice with us 👍 I do get some problems with audio etc with aussies but lag is normally ok as long as my connection (host) is strong. I dont get mad as long as people dont repeat offences over again its just a case of the stewards deciding whats happened, we also take lag into account.

Musolino- Apologies for your best finish, where was that? Nurburg? Yes you have raced in 2 seasons. Why do you think you are ranked 9th? What have I missed?

KS- First of all, sorry about Spa incident but that is why we have practice races, to get your braking points and overtaking spots :)
No point in getting angry, I try and remain ice cold no matter what happens as I know drivers who push will be punished. Getting pissed off can spoil your race :) You got a good chance at Spa so no worries. Nice report 👍

Electric- You should report people for hitting you if there was meaningful contact. Were you -1 lap when you were hit? It is frustrating for the lapping driver but they are not allowed to strike you but you are expected to yield almost immediatley.
Sorry you had a bad race mate but you gotta race your line and ignore people behind you (the ones on the same lap). They got to drive around you rather than have you move, make them take the long way round, I got moved out of the way by a faster car and was really annoyed too!
 
Heres my first 2 laps,RH at -10/0 didnt really work,wasnt used to it..have to guess again....lol

@sakery- medium tyres had the same efffect,slower than practice...i cant complain really after watching the race,i found myself behind pagey near the start and he came back to win it.All is not lost on a bad start or early crashes...

My race sucked!!
1 hour before race I practiced & put a good lap down 1:00.xxx and didn't spin out!
When I joined race room got on track I'm like on ice:( Qualify laps I spun off both laps! That's fuc ed up because I've never spun out at turn just after corkscrew 100 plus laps I've practice! Total BS!
During race I spun off several times:( some cars were lagging glitchy etc! After I got bitch slapped of the track by ? I almost lost my temper. And quit race! But I kept on pushing. Finished 8th 2laps down! How can practice be so much different than race? And I didn't hear tires skids or other cars after lap 8 or so! Gt5 online sucks!!!

Quality race! Well done Pagey, Smithaz; first podium I believe?

Race Report:

Qualifying was pretty poor for me, span both times, but's thats usual in the Doyle house.
On to the start, I gained a lot of places due to a crash on turn 2. But then lost them on turn 4 as I ate sand. I then progressed steadily and my pit strategy was very good, putting me from 8th to the top 4 on my first pit. Consistancy was good as soon as I got on the softs the 1:02's came in and I was closing the gap with Smithaz slightly.

I knew that to get on the podium I'd have to figure out Bretts strategy and I knew he'll do a 1 stop so I thought I'll do a 2 stopper and try and catch him within the last 5 laps as I'd have better tyres. And this worked, I am proud that I got another podium.

Bring on Spa!

@Brett: I was still angry after the LS race and I think you know that just a little thing is then needed to get you up to cooking innerly => I went sleeping before I do something inappropriate.

So the Spa thing is ok, as long as it´s not going to happen at Race day.

I got a 1:41.754. but i had the settings on grip reduction on real. Unlike someone there etid :lol:

EDIT: i set a 1:40.250 during a race :D

We'll see what happens on Sunday Ellis. Don't get to jolly, you'll probally get 'stuck' in the pits again..
 
PB- Nice video mate, it looks good considering it was recorded on a camcorder (I think).

RF- I was surprised that you didnt do better after your amazing practice times mate, all I can say is keep on trucking, try and not get stressed no matter what happens on race day. Thought you and Sak were top 5 for sure :(

Rapidz- Ill let you know :)

Etid- Nice report mate and pending the stewards enquiry just wanted to say well done! Since Indy RC I have always wondered why your pace did a bunk, you are mega fast when you get your race on 👍

Pagey- Apologies, ill check it now. Profiles get done last and are the most likely to have mistakes. It takes quite a bit of work to update :)

Sakery- If it does I would get a -10 points 👍

Ellis- Will find out tomorrow I guess.

Flood- I know, thats because I get pissed off wioth everyone messing with my settings and go and play command and conquer instead lol.

Stewards are 75% done 6 drivers under investigation :D
 
Me, Ellis, Electric and Flood had some good practice races this afternoon. Ellis, Flood and Electric are all around the same speed where as I was setting 20 - 30 second gaps, should be interesting to see how I face against the top runners.

When is the next practice session?

Nice one mate, Official practice sessions are. Tuesday 830-10, wed 8 till late (inc. mixed racing) and friday 830 till 11. All pm
The word 'official' basically means I am there and its in my lounge :D
