and congrats @TRL LIGHTNING and @Aderrrm

This sums up my races. Alsace got nudged into the barrier but was a risky move to be fair. Should have come in a lap earlier to be honest. Dragontrail I went nuts I seem to be fast at reverse for some reason. Catalunya was punted again, no idea how that wasn't a penalty... it cost me slipstream so couldn't catch back up. Very frustrating, could have had a podium I'm sure as I had the pace today.

I take away positives that I was really on pace this weekend though. On to the world's!

Thanks for the support guys I'll respond to posts once I'm home!

F

To summarise my thoughts one final time before I'm done:

Congrats to the podium, they all drove great, Lightning and Coque putting on a great clean battle, Giorgio's great comebacks, Aderrrm's under-the-radar consistency.

I'm just worried that we are just slowly landsliding into dirtier racing being accepted (and even complimented) and I'm not a fan of it, We saw a brutal murder only get a 2 second penalty, and about 4 or 5 cases of someone being shoved offtrack to absolutely no response from the stewards.

BoP was crap as always in N500, no surprise there and I won't talk about the random car selection I've said enough on that

Looked like Gr3 was operating on an updated BoP so I'm really excited to check that out next patch, there were some cars with a noticeable advantage still but it was close enough, I was happy 👍

If I come off salty sometimes, well I basically am lol, all I want is a fair championship for all drivers involved, and PD seems pretty adverse to delivering that, although slow steps are being taken in the right direction. That, and I think I'm pretty jaded anyway after receiving the personal shaft from rule changes, matchmaking oversights, bad stewarding and getting raffled into a crap car myself all over the last few months

On behalf of the GTPlanet community, I demand a live stream :D

*sigh* Yep I guess I do owe you that, it shouldn't be too ba-

You can hate me instead then. Your punishment is the Nordschleife. Stock settings and Auto gears.

end my life

Congratulations to everyone who made Worlds and especially @TRL LIGHTNING, @Aderrrm and @Giorgio_57

I really enjoyed watch the stream again today. The production was much better than Tokyo. It seemed better organised. Makes me really excited for the world finals! They need to get some champagne or fizzy water for the podium (after covering up the rigs).

There were 7k people watching live across the 6 youbute streams at one point which is crazy. I assume world will be even more. Catalunya looked awesome. Should be good for a lot of different classes.

Few minor criticisms:
1. No need to cut the comentry to different languages.
2. N class races need to be one make.
3. Incident replays needs to be improved massively
4. Stewards need to be stricter

It would also be nice if they could have a livestream of each drivers POV so we can watch a battle/incidents that might not be shown on stream

I think they cut to other commentators to kinda show in the EN stream that there were other languages being streamed. Probably some people didn't know?

Otherwise there's no reason for it. ^^

I don't understand....

What is the point of going to commentators from a different country when THEY HAVE THEIR OWN BROADCAST?! I'm sorry but made no sense when the English broadcast went to Italian and now they went to German. WTF...

I guess it was to show the emotions of the commentators when their countrymen were involved in battle. It worked with the Spaniards but predictably backfired with the Germans:lol:

Congrats to @TRL LIGHTNING for the win. I guess it looked easier than it was.

@Aderrrm aka The Sheriff from Nottingham(what was that about?) also with a good performance.

Better luck next time @Tidgney

I think the 'car draw' needs to be scrapped. Why can't every driver choose their own car or have at least a one-make races? If today's competition was focussing on the European nations, a variable such as the car draw shouldn't even be considered.

Anyway, congratulations to not just the top 3, but also those reaching the European final. I think there are a number of drivers today who probably felt they deserved better, but at least some of you can make up for it on the world stage.

I think it was to give a flavour of the commentary from the German/Spanish teams when talking about their own driver.

Yeah, but almost no one understood what they were saying. ^^ I didn't find that annoying tbh, but I get the point some people were making. Especially when they juxtaposed a foreign commentary over an important fight (can't remember exactly when).

Those commentators and camera managers made the racing more intertaining than the usual race replay. Thanks to them all. But how is it determined, who gets to use what car?

I'm pretty certain that more would have chosen a dominant McLaren F1 over an outdated Ferrari 458. I sure there is some preliminary stuff going on prior to what I have just seen here. But I don't want to assume anything.

Personally, I would have chosen the old 458 in protest for it's succesor, the 488. Also, what kinds of tuning is allowed in these competions?

Please forgive any lack of knowledge on my part. Though I may be anti ptp at the moment, a full GT game could sway my decsion to buy in.

Is Kaz going to party? Find out if he can breakdance, GTP and Polyphony should have a dance competition. :D

Cookies Apples are the key to end all your woes
Your ups and your downs, your highs and your lows
Won't you tell me last time that Kazunori-san bought you Maccy D's?
It's like that, and that's the way it is.

Like I mentioned earlier, I feel that making the event entertaining for the audience takes the highest priority. While I do agree that luck played a greater factor than it should've and the stewards were too lax for this event, the best drivers did find a way to come out on top anyways. Still, lots of names that don't get to advance but they all did a great job. 👍

Oh, and @TRL LIGHTNING has been lying to us all this time. It was never cookies. The secret really is:

Two apples a day keeps your competitors at bay...

:sly:

Showing the other language commentators for like 10 secs to see their reaction to something is great but I felt with the German one we were just listening to a full minute long conversation that could have been about Hugo Boss' A/W 2018 lederhosen collection for all I know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

On the draw issue, I have the slight impression Fuvaros got a bad hand. Audi R8 and then the Beetle (with a new BoP probably). I wasn't expecting him to miss the top 5 in the final either.

Fantastic stuff again! Congrats @Aderrrm - felt quite patriotic there :)
(and congrats everyone else too!)
Excellent commentary and hosting as usual.

My only gripes, and small ones, are that fastest lap info on screen would be useful.
Also, the occasional cockpit view in-race (not too much) would be a nice change.

Can't wait for Vegas now!

We really need more 20 lap races, people who are starting in the back need more chances to move up the field and 9 laps aren't enough for that. The Nurburgring event had a 1 hour race and it was amazing,i don't think PD should be afraid of longer races it won't be boring, the drivers are skilled enough to make the races entertaining.

Schumacher once said that the hardest part of his job was outside of the car so well done to you because you're a natural in front of the camera, no media training required!

Looking forward to seeing you at the World Final!

Question: So much contact was allowed this time, will you change the way you race? You may be the cleanest driver around but I would understand if you got fed up!

I meant the short chap with grey hair!
Matt? :)
You don't mean Jimmy do you?

No, I don't think it needs to be scrapped. Because everyone would want to choose the McLaren F1... And people would get upset if someone else has chosen the car they want.

So across the 2 Championships this is the number of drivers representating each European country at the World Finals (subject to Manufacturers entrants being confirmed and these will change owing to age/availability/rule violations). Two countries stand out

8 - United Kingdom
7 - France
2 - Germany
1 - Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal & Spain
