Okay that Nissan running out of fuel has gotta be on the race highlights.

As for the race, that ending though. And congrats to Lexus.

And as for my bet, it did good enough to make me renew my contract with Porsche for the next season.

@TRL LIGHTNING That was a great performance for the three of you especially Igor. :)

That ending was mental, in fact pretty much all of these races have had great endings. One thing's for certain even if their stewarding and formats are dodgy whatever they're doing is producing some really exciting racing. It was great being an hour long as well, you actually got to see the strategies play out and how each driver affected the pace rather than seeing the cars come in every 3 minutes and the race being over super quick.

Feel sorry for Nico and Igor because their pace and racing was insane (I guess you could say running out of fuel was a mistake though) but they didn't really have such great results in the end. Big shout out to @Cuber Tom and team for silently clawing a podium from 8th that was a great job! And of course @SkyPikmin for the win!

Subara's move aside, some great racing on a horrible track for overtaking. Think NicoR was skirting the edge at times but exciting to watch.

Nah they ran the best race they could and just missed out due to a few bad corners leading up to the final straight. Nissan have a much stronger case for being robbed as I still insist that 5.9 seconds for the most minor of minor track cuts is a joke.

You're right of course, but as a Porsche fan I'm feeling it.

Has anyone noticed that Yamanaka is extremely dirty? First got wind of it at the red bull ring event and everyone I've seen him since he's always causing some sort of collision. Be it divebombs or straight up punts. He's got supreme speed no doubt, but it seems he doesn't know how to overtake, at all.

Other than that it was an incredible event with fantastic racing. The quality in production compared to the majority of other eSports is just a level above. The only eSport that beats it is probably LoL and considering that's the biggest eSport in the world that's saying something. Polyphony have really knocked it out of the park.

Another great race. So much fun watching the best.

Driver of the day for me is Tyrell Meadows. IMO he had one of toughest tasks of the day, executed and made it look easy. I did not think I'd be picking an American as my driver of the day on Nurburgring. So I am pleasantly surprised.

Great race in the end. Congrats to everyone. Lexus deserved the win with the drive they had today.

Shame about BMW and the incident. Hopefully the rest of the event treats them well.

Positives:

Overall, very good race and individual performances from almost everyone.
Lexus did a great job from the get go. Toyota's Miura and Yamanaka did a superb job. Aston came from 8th to 3rd which is great on this track. Nico and Igor must have been the best individual performances IMO. Of course there's a lot more talent but unfortunatley we only have access to a single camera. They could use at least 3 and allow us to change on demand as some IRL racing series do on youtube.

Great commentary by Albuquerque and Félix da Costa yet again. It was cool when the race finished (they were pushing for the portuguese and brazillian drivers obviously) Albuquerque told us he also had the same issue Igor had in his last 10h IMSA race at Atlanta... he was in first and got out of fuel in the last corner, leading to a 4th end position. It's just amazing to have these types of insights from great racing drivers while commenting GTSport. He knew the names of the corners, sections, knew how much time it could be saved or gained per lap on each type of tire compound (roughly) and overall, it was great to have him and Félix da Costa commentanting the event.

Negatives:
Ridiculous 5sec penalty to the Subaru team after ruining BMW's race. I think they didn't want to ruin the race for the other 2 Subaru drivers... but the 3 BMW drivers had no fault either.

Ridiculous 5.9sec penalty for Nissan for going over sand and not gaining an advantage. From what Igor said, must have been at the Schumacher SS. Arguably made them take more risks than what they needed and ended up with Igor crossing the line in 8th after bing in 3rd and going out of fuel.

I don't think so.

Lexus had an all around very strong team, all 3 drivers are great. If I had to pick the best of lexus, it would have to be the guy that put them in second place in the qualify, I believe it was the Japanese. That was instrumental for their win.

Driver of the day is either Nico, Miura or Igor Fraga. Their stints were amazingly good.
