Official pictures of the V12 Vantage will be up later.

Tom, you could team up with AHP who is also in a V12?

That's true, although he's fast and I'm slow. I'm going to take my chances for now, I don't want to let anyone down.

I appreciate the compliment of speed. But I need thorough training on tire saving and overall car tuning. Are you strong in either?:dopey:

Edit: Tom if you want to team up I have my racing colours set. Attempting to copy the Gulf Livery I've got a light metallic blue with bright orange wheels. "Queen and Country" funny you mention that as my MAG clan is currently fighting under that name for the International MAG Championship :)

When you're turning, as soon as your tyre gauge goes red, stop turning.

Theres all you need to know.

Yeah you're right. This is much harder to monitor via DFGT, however, I wonder if turning the FFB higher would change anything..

In other news, this is what my Ferrari currently looks like:

No......

Once your tires go red, you might as well have them locked up.

The trick is, sliding the rear end. This can be achieved with adjusting your brake balance, so if you can get your car to slide into a corner by having a loose tail, you can save your front tires. Of course, you'll be wasting your rear tires, but with cars with this much horsepower, you can have almost flat rear tires and still have more than enough acceleration grip. Other tips would include:

Don't attack every lap like it's qualifying. Pick a lap time that's about half a second off or more than your qualifying time and run it all race. By not pushing every lap, you'll save yourself making mistakes, which result in tire wear.

Tire temperature. I'm still experimenting with this, but I'm pretty sure I have it down now. When your tires overhead, they have less grip. When they have less grip, you start driving harder. When you start driving harder, you start wearing tires out much quicker. Give you tires a chance to cool and you will gain many more laps before pit stops.

Talking about wheels, i visited my sisters place last weekend (the one when i missed the lotuses) and they got a friggin playseat GT and a Thrustmaster T500 RS, you could feel the vibrations in the seat!! i'm so jealous :(:( felt so wrong driving my own wheel after that.

I started to wonder...

How on earth does your sister have such gaming gear? :sly::sly:

Well it depends what sort of corner you are in. If you are in a hairpin, turning less when it is hot works.

The whole sliding the car to get it to turn in makes for faster lap times as you are understeering less and that in turn gives you less tyre wear at the front.

Didn't really expect anyone to give an actual talk into how to control tyres lol.

You don't think girls can be gamers? ^^ actually the racing gear is mostly her boyfriends.. she is more in to final fantasy, uncharted and such things.

Edit: and oh they're rich.. na but they've been working full time both of them.. making lot of money and prioritising ;)

Official FIA GT1 Car Launch

FIA's GT1 series is set to be a classic for Season 3, thanks to the fantastic array of talent and brilliant car line up. Tom Brooks' Aston Martin V12 Vantage was spotted doing a 100km shakedown session the the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Unfortunately, photographers were there as well and they got a sneak peak and a few pictures of the car.

The team is expected to run as an independent outfit under the name Brooks Motor Racing or BMR for Season 3 due to a lack of sponsorship, however their pilot Tom Brooks is hopeful of strong results and possibly a seat at a works team in the future.

Gorgeous car, Tom.

Shame you have decided to run independant, but atleast it's less pressure on you. :D

Anyone else want the Viper.. :(

Best sounding car :D

I have a mad idea, my ferrari is gonna be a Jordan +_+
