Why is Monaco on the calendar?

Ummmmmm, I might wanna grab the Aston. It felt good some time ago, and I was running with higher power than the regulations allow.

Carb, are you racing in the endurance race this weekend?

There is a seperate thread for it.

I doubt it. I don't like long races, and my time slot might be occupied (winkwink, Nationwide and IROC).

Sorry for my extremely late entry, NASCAR has taken its toll recently.

Will be driving the SLR under the Death By Carbon name, so far I seem to be running alone but if anyone expresses interest in joining the team (akmuq?) feel free to do so.

I don't really understand, is this series starting today with a regular race as well as the enduro?

Oops, it lists the first race as starting in the 8th. Fuuuu.

Fortunately I have a week to get a teammate now, as well as practice. ^^ My best time in Nürb was a 1'34.2, it's not a Carracer time but I haven't ruled myself out of the podium for sure. ;)

You can join the enduro today though? there you can try out your car as much as you like ^^

I'm pretty sure I won't, because as I said, I don't like long races and IROC is re-starting today, I always put priority on point-scoring races.

The reigning Champion, carracer was available for a quick interview earlier today, so I thought I would get a word in with him.

DaxCobra
Hi, carracerptp.

If you could answer these questions in a reply and I can post this in the thread.

carracerptp
Sure. Like I said before, I really won't be able to make every race this season, sorry about that.
My job is getting better and taking up more of my time.

DaxCobra
After a weeks break from Season 2, we are thrown straight back into season 3 with the Pre Season 2 hour endurance race. How do you think it went given the incredibly difficult conditions?

carracerptp
My first timed lap was my qualifying lap.

I was unsure of my car choice right up the the race start. After tuning the corvette last season ANY car is easy to make fast.

The viper is sharp and will bite you if your not smart, just the way I like my cars.

The rain gave me an advantage as love it.

DaxCobra
So, as the reigning Champion, are you still pushing for another Championship win in FIA GT1's, or are you just going to relax and have some fun instead?

carracerptp
I'm going to have fun, last time I really wanted that win. Now I can have more fun and stop counting points.

DaxCobra
Who will be challenging you for the title?

carracerptp
Whos driving the SLRs?

Joking, joking...

If Chorla is racing... I think he has the best odds. He has the speed and skill.

Carbon and Marunda are very fast. Carbon is great in qualifying. Marunda has better long term speed.

Sumo was consistent in the last races and looks fast in the Ferrari. You have a good shot at it if you makes the races

DaxCobra
What looks to be the fastest car or is it too early to tell?

carracerptp
SLR on 80% of the tracks.
I have no clue how Sumo is so fast in the Ferrari. I'm a second slower on every tack in it.
Viper is still in need of a golden tune, with that I think it could be deadly (I have an SLR golden tune already and have been using it for comparing).

DaxCobra
Thank you for your time. Any final comment?

carracerptp
The cars look closer this season, I'm ready for more door to door racing.

Cool interview! 👍

I'll let you know soon if I'll be able to participate. 👍

A much better swede this time it seems ^^

I like the comment about understeer and oversteer not being a problem since every car is tunable. Funny thing there.. no problems are solvable when you have nooo idea how to tune a car :P I which i knew how to but i really can't, have no idea how to. Feels like you have to be a better driver than me to test cars for tuning, i can't drive consistently and there by not tune cars.

Edit: the comment about tuning was in the endurance thread ^^

I caught up with another DCRL Champion, Sumo098.

DaxCobra.
Hello Sumo, have you enjoyed your extremely long week break away from FIA GT1?

It's been a relaxing time, full of peace and tranquility. I have used this time to prepare myself for the upcoming challenge that is the second season of FIA GT1

DaxCobra:
You do not include the season before last, or are you just rubbish at math?

Sumo098: Ah wait, it's the third... Hang on whilst I shoot some sense into my head

DaxCobra:
Terrific.

Tricky conditions with the pre season race today, how did you find it, and how is the car?

Sumo098: The race conditions were far from favorable and my tyre strategy was rubbish. However, I think the car is well balanced.

DaxCobra:
Yes, I noticed the tyres are not great for this track, as they seem to drop off about half way through the 2nd lap...

Sumo098: I had a bigger issue in that I went for inters thinking the rain would stop shortly after we started.

DaxCobra:
A gamble that didn't pay off. Still, a strong finish and some valuable data obtained for next week. You are one of the few DCRL Champions on the grid, will you be in the running for this seasons title?

Sumo098But of course! I always aim for victory!

DaxCobra:
I do not think anyone doubts your skill, but is the car up to it?

Sumo098: Well, I've successfully beaten one of your Vipers driven by Neljack, so I think it's good for a chance.

DaxCobra:
Yes, but neljack is the monkey driver in VenoMMotorsport... Anyway, ignore that... Who do you think will be the main runners for the title?

Sumo098: Carracer indefinately, as for others, I'll just have to see.

DaxCobra:
Which car is looking the fastest or is it too early to tell?

Sumo098: Can't quite tell, but I've had a hunch that the Mercedes might be fastest for some time. Not sure why though...

DaxCobra:
It's the McLaren engineering... Everyone knows they are the best. Unbiast views from me...

Sumo098: Let's not steer this down the path of F1 discussion, you'll lose my attention.

DaxCobra:
Thank you for your time. Finally... any last, Un-Dr Pepper related comments?

Sumo098: Hmmmm.

DaxCobra:
Is that... is that it?

Sumo098: Nothing comes immediately to mind, so I'll just say: Have a good series and remember to come bow to my presence once I win the title.
