Whatever. I hold my case and he holds his. *Shrugs*

I don't think I should get into these petty arguments.

I don't think anyone should get a penalty for anything this race!

I sometimes wonder why you claim the cars to be very even in testing, but when the race day comes, differencies are seen.

Next up is Monza though and that's where the powerful cars will gain a slight advantage...

The lambo has power in the straights. I saw that today when you barely caught me in slip stream. Just getting that thing to brake - then turn on time. I've said good luck since the day I chose it :P

I'll try to get it sorted out that I can make Monza. But don't count on it. :nervous:

What? You did all the testing, I just sat there eating Popcorn...

But yeah, just talk to me.

Im sure minor things like ballast can still be done.

EDIT: I never tested the Lambo, so its down to you. ;D

I had that lambo last season it really is a dog but you might be able to set it up to work better.. i couldn't though..

And carbonox, scandinavian keyboard is the ****.. jag borde skriva alla inlägg till dig på svenska så får vi se om du förstår.

When click on my car on the replay and follow on bumper cam, there is no sound or noise of a hit nor do the GTR or the lambo come anywhere close, but when I watch from the red GTR's back bumper on the same corner its a different story... sounds and looks like I rammed him harshly.

Whatever buddy it wasn't intentional so no grudge by my side !
Lag lag lag i hate this thing ^^

Must apologize though, as much as these things happen. Was willing to take the fault.
EDIT: Did you feel a bump from me on the first corner?

As i said i was breaking then i heard a bump and my car went flying forward ... then looking at the replay i saw that the 'contact' wasn't that huge but the effect was like that ...

I really believe the cars are even, but maybe the Nurburgring was a bit of a bad track for the Lambo. At TGTT all 5 cars were within a tenth of each other. Next race we will see a 5 car race for the win.

What tracks did you test on?
GP/D is going to favor zero to 60 times and turn-in, in short, the GTRs to loss.

I'm a bit late now but I know AHP is a fair driver and doesn't intentionally bump people off, I can't say the same for lord voldermort but I also can't say he does as I haven't been near him in a race.

Overall there was a slight mistake which made this argument.

End of the day we all had fun. BTW eclat is the Ford 364 or 374 bhp? I was running 364 and when you set it for fords to come to track it was a 374 bhp limit?

Just wondering as my car felt sluggish today.

We tested at Top Gear Test Track, Grand Valley East and Daytona Oval.

And mattymc, the GT has 374 haha.

Update the pic in the OP then..

Thought yours seemed quicker then mine alright.. Just from vid..

Anyway I dunno if I made the points but if I did don't I score for your team eclat as I am a reserve driver for it? (well I was)

Connection should be fine for next week if I can come. Just need to restart it :dopey:

Hey Dax... and matty for that matter.. If a car isn't on the lead lap or just about to be lapped shouldn't it go "see-through" so the lead car can pass with no problems? Or is that only with penalties on?

Only with penalties on.. Which might be the case for monza.. Cause of turn 2 and 5..

I tried getting out of the way.. And where I hit Dax on his video was completely different to mine.. He was ahead of me and lagged (my connection) on the back part of the track before the straight to the chicane..

A_Higher_Place
I see, would be cool if you could upload the video matty. To compare.

I didn't save replay but I know he overlapped me.. Or attempted to at the chicane before the back straight..

But my lag killed him..

Sorry again Dax..

GP/D Car Report

After this week's race, I've decided to do a comparison of all the cars in their stock and lightly tuned form at GP/D.

Test Set-up

All were done in my lounge with the room set according to the OP. Three laps would be done in each car. I should mention I mostly drive rear-wheel cars so I probably have a bias to them.

I'm not the fastest guy in any car (Yes, have fun, post your faster times) but, I feel I got a good feel for the cars.

The Cars

All cars are un-broken in and have received an oil change. I added all the regulation parts. Nothing more, nothing less.

The reason I left out the R8 was because it seemed to have an average pace, so I'm assuming it's a median car.

The GTR

At this track, this car is an ace. Really. It has ample grip and acceleration. It's only weakness is it lacks a little on the top end.

My first three laps were done in untuned form. Just added the parts and went with it. 32.7 was my opening lap. Ran a 32.5 and a 32.5. I feel confident saying this car does 32.5 out of the box.

Lap Times - Un-Tuned:

  1. 32.7
  2. 32.5
  3. 32.5

Tuned

For tuning, I merely lowered the rear to the minimum and went five ticks up from the minimum for the front ride height. Then I removed the silly 20 degree toe. 32.1, followed by 32.4, and 32.3. The 32.3 should have been a 31.9, but I crashed. If I tuned it for a couple minutes, I'm sure I could get down to 31s consistently.

Lap Times - Tuned:

  1. 32.1
  2. 32.4
  3. 32.3

Ford GT

Very good grip. Decent acceleration. Stock settings, same as the GTR.

33.0, 33.1, and 33.4. Very nice car. I feel if I used more of that grip, I could have run 33 flats on all the laps.

Lap Times - Un-Tuned:

  1. 33.0
  2. 33.1
  3. 33.4

Tuned

Tuning included lowering the suspension, leaving it a bit higher in the front - same as GTR, ditching toe as well. Last thing I did was drop the top speed of the transmission, I think two ticks.

32.7, 32.8, 32.5. Very nice car. I would say it's a tick down from the Lamborguhini. Big testament to Dax's tuning and driving abilities to keep up with the GTRs. I think I could tune this car to run constant 32.4s and 5s. I'd probably shred the tires doing it, though.

Lap Times - Tuned:

  1. 32.7
  2. 32.8
  3. 32.5

Lambo

Setup same as before.

33.3, 33.5, don't remember the next lap. Should have written it down. I'm thinking a 33.4 average.

Lap Times - Un-Tuned:

  1. 33.3
  2. 33.5
  3. 33.X

Stock, this car has great grip, but "off" turn-in. You really have to trailbrake it. I should mention I used the same amount of "effort" to get the lap times for each car. If I really was giving this car an on-the-limit hot lap, 33 flat, but it would be hard to repeat.

Tuned

Tuning involved lowering the suspension, leaving it a bit higher in the front again, ditching the rear toe, reducing transmission top speed. 203 or 199 was the number, I believe (miles per hour).

32.5, 32.4, 33.6, 32.7. I did four laps because I flat out crashed. You still have to work at it to get a good lap. Nowhere near as easy as a GTR. But with a bit more tuning, I think it could be within shooting range.

Lap Times - Tuned:

  1. 32.5
  2. 32.4
  3. 33.6
  4. 32.7

ZR1

Ditto.

33.5, 33.7, 33.6. No grip, no low end acceleration, good top end acceleration.

I think this car is definitely the lame duck of the group at this track. The grip difference is significant. It feels like you're on a different tire. Yes, I checked, I was on Racing: Hard for all tests.

Lap Times - Un-Tuned:

  1. 33.5
  2. 33.7
  3. 33.6

Tuned

Tuning involved reducing the transmission speed, increasing the front ride height, as I can't lower it, may have changed the rear toe a bit.

33.1, 33.2, 33.3. To get this car in the 32s, you have to basically time attack it. My race setup, which I spent a good two hours on, topped out at 32.5. I could not run those laps consistently.

Lap Times - Tuned:

  1. 33.1
  2. 33.2
  3. 33.3

The scary part of it is, I just did a race in this car, so I figured it would give it an advantage, as I'm familiar with it.

My Opinion

If I was to rank these cars for this track, it would be:

  • GTR . A good half a second minimum faster than every other car.
  • Lamborghini - Ford GT. So close I think a mere driving preference could result in one car being faster than the other. Skill and Tuning can get these cars in the GTR range.

  • ZR1. A good half a second slower on average than every other car.

Tracks Coming Up

I think Monza will be a race for the GTs, the ZR1s, and the Lambos. The GTR may have a weakness here. It will still kill all the cars in the corners, though.

Hmm, disappointed I chose the Ford now but nearly chose the ZR1 so I'm a bit happier.

And I ran a good battle with the Audi's of DK and I can't remember but it was a blue Audi. Even though I ran 10bhp to low :dopey: I think Dax should have made that a little clearer, but no harm done as it was probably best I ran so far down today.

Carracer, Do you drive DS3 or DFGT? I think i may be losing time in the corner cause the wheel doesn't allow flat out acceleration from the corners like the DS3 does. Easier to fix mistakes too. Just wondering cause i managed .4 of a second faster with my DS3 then the DFGT.

Maybe I'll use that at Monza.

Isn't it funny, though, how the 1st race of Season 2 had many similarities to the 1st race of season one..

Carbonox get's pole, I am leading and get hit off, a rookie wins, three way fight for the lead etc...

You really out to change the OP about the Ford's power because anybody coming in now using the GT will be underpowered.

I'm going to try and make the race at Monza next week, but I really can't promise anything as it involves asking for dinner to be moved an hour or so. :scared:

Hang on, I may have got that wrong, I think the power of the GT is 364...

I'll go check mine. :P

Edit: It is 364, my car was running that.

Oh... right.

Well I don't know why I'm so much slower then... :ill:
