Weird that I didn’t get an in-game notification as well. I had to register on the website.

I thought you had to be in the top 5 or so in a manufacturer to qualify for S DR but I checked and finishing in the top 140 overall counts too (in NA at least). I’ll take it. :)

I had a really nice breakthrough this week. I've been using the 3-week FIA break to try out different manufacturers in anticipation of the next season. I gave a serious, but failed, attempt at Honda (I absolutely love the GR4 car, but I can't figure out the GR3:lol:) among others, and then I got to Hyundai where the breakthrough occurred. For the first time ever, I can now drive a GR3 car with TCS 0!

I have always used TCS 2 on FR cars, especially GR3 cars, but I thought I would try a few laps with the Genesis at TCS 0. And to my surprise, I not only kept the car consistently on the track, but WOW, it felt super-smooth and much faster than I was used to. Last night I tried some time trials on various tracks, and in one night I beat my previous GR3 fastest laps at Maggiore, Interlagos, Brands Hatch, and Yamigawa (previously set with Lexus, Beetle, and Corvette) with this car.

I still don't know how I'll handle the TCS 0 with tire wear (something I'm looking forward to start testing tonight), but it's always exciting when this game gives you these moments where you learn something new and you see that you can keep improving and making progress. Often these moments occur when you least expect them as well :).

How's Ferrari ? Is it a handful to drive or competitive ?

I used Ferrari for my second ever FIA season last year. Big mistake

Gr.3 is one of the hardest cars to drive in its class, in my opinion. If you think the Huracan or R8's lift off oversteer is bad this is even worse. Although I've heard that the last BOP change made it a bit better, I still wouldn't recommend it if you're not comfortable with left foot braking/overlaying throttle (which you need to do a LOT to keep it stable). Because of that rear tyre wear is also really bad. If you can master it though, it's a decent car.

Gr.4 is the complete opposite. Very underrated car. Very stable, you can plant the gas coming out of slow speed corners and it will stick. The problem, ironically, is understeer in high speed corners because all that weight at the back makes the front end very light. So you have to be patient on the gas in long corners. The upside though, for an MR car the tyre wear is quite even front-back. Also pretty good at short shifting/fuel saving. Top speed is average.

If you don't really care about results, it's a very good "training" car. Once you've done a season with it, you can pretty much drive anything in this game  Except maybe the Stratos :P

I had a look at the final global standings, and Ferrari actually had a good season.

Top 10 manufacturers:

1st - Volkswagen 523 points
2nd - Chevrolet 521.5 points
3rd - Dodge 496 points
4th - Ferrari and Mercedes 477 points
6th - Aston Martin 471.5 points
7th - McLaren 465 points
8th - Audi 449 points
9th - Lexus 432 points
10th - Porsche 431 points

Joint losers: Alfa Romeo and Renault Sport at 196.5 points. Next worst is Mitsubishi at 223 points, just to drive home how badly Alfa and Renault did.

Mitsu and Subaru are pretty equal performance wise. Problem is none of the good drivers ever pick Mitsu.

Alfa and Renault is a dud this season because most of the tracks are high speed which doesn't play to their strengths.

Honestly, the quality of drivers make more of a difference than the manufacturers themselves. I remember last year Dodge was always last in the standings along with Mitsu. Then in exhibition season Hizal picked it and instantly became top 2nd manu in EMEA. Since then a lot of fast drivers have tried it and Dodge has been consistently "good" in the standings.

Pretty standard track choices in Manufacturers. Don't know what the multipliers are yet though? (or i don't know where to look:)). Had a feeling Blue Moon was going to be put in. Hope Dragon Trail is Seaside and not Gardens! mostly power tracks by the looks of it?

Those pages don't exist when I click on the links. Are they staggering the announcement by region?

Worked for me. And I’m in the same state as you.

Would like to know what BMB is used (hoping for oval), and Nurburgring. Otherwise, talk about uninteresting.

Same with the what N700 they have planned for SSRX.

Weird that you can see it. Thanks @xxPinkyKissxx for posting the pic. I also hope BMB is an oval. I'd even settle for Road Course B (or whatever the short road course there is called). I hope participation is similarly low again, so I might actually stand a chance of making the Top 16 race at BMB! But yeah There's only 4 or 5 races that look interesting to me there.

As for Route X, if they have multiple cars to choose from, don't assume they'll all be competitive even at such a simple track. Found that out the hard way last time we raced an FIA race here...

Think I'm dead in the water, at Nurb, if it's the 24 layout. The 86 might have a chance at Interlagos(I've won there in the Daily Race C, using the 86) and Willow Springs, depending on multipliers.
Red Bull could be a toss up.

GR.3? Don't know how the Supra will fair. Guess it should be better than the RX-V.

Log out.

*my phone wasn’t connected to my PSN.
Ok. I was able to see it on my phone as well since it's also not logged in. Thanks.
You're not alone Equus_ferrum I can't see them either. Really happy about having some Top 16 races though participation should go way up and hopefully better splits.
Yeah Nation's was especially brutal last season after the first couple rounds due to the lack of participation. I always got thrown into Top Split, but the points weren't as good due to the large DR gaps, so I had to finish nearly as well in Top Split as I would've had to in 2nd or 3rd Split during a normal season. It also wasn't worth racing after the 3rd slot when the points dropped off sharply...

The Supra is plenty fast, but rather twitchy out of slow corners so you need to either use TCS or be super smooth on the throttle or it'll snap your head off.

Having a play with the schedule.

- KYOTO Yamagiwa+Miyabi
- BMB Infield A II
- Sardegna Road Track C II
- Autopolis
- TokyoESIL or Lago - West
- Red Bull Ring Rain
- StCroix - C II
- Bathusrt
- Interlagos
- Spa Rain

I don't think there's ever been a Gr.3 race at Tokyo Expressway Central Inner Loop. Not even a Twilight race, in Rain, at that layout. *shudders*
Not bad at a couple guesses. Didn't think we'd see DT and Nurb again.

The webpage is saying Rd 1 is Red Bull Short for Manu and Sardegna B for Nations. Clicking on the link doesn't give any more info though, it just reloads the same page.

Can't believe they put in another SSRX meme race  Let's hope they properly balanced the cars this time so the 458 isn't meta again.

Manu looks potentially interesting, depending on the track layouts used.

I hope they aim for a similar length in races as last exhibition season. In the regular season races often felt a bit too short.

For example, Suzuka in stage 3 of the regular season was 16 laps with the group 4 cars but it was 18 laps with the group 4 cars in the exhibition season. Two laps might not sound like much but it made the race a whole lot more interesting for sure.

Different category (N700 compared to the 800s) for SSRX. I think the Pagani will probably end up as the META, but I’m hoping it’s a bit more even and the Charger Hellcat is competitive. There are some cool NASCAR liveries out there for that car.

They geared the Huayra way too short last time. Once the 458's all found each other and formed a train, the Huayra hit the limiter trying to keep up and ran out of steam at 263 mph while the Ferraris kept going.

Ask me how I know:

So... I wonder if we'll get any heads up at all on the specifics of next season or if we'll have to play it by ear on a race-by-race basis.

Would be nice to know things like multipliers, number of laps, etc. And which layout of each track we'll be using, since that could seriously influence car selection for Manu.
