New system seem to be working well most of the time.

For those who haven't been on recently we have been playing without an ANY, and set match ANY to on, so the other team don't have one either.
Then in the match we set it to Ultra defensive, so the AI defenders stay back nice and tight, which they are good at. This leaves the attacking spots up to us and we push forward and get the goals.
When the other team do get the ball the captain holds R1 and the Defenders close them down really fast, allowing them virtually no time on the ball.

It's worked pretty well so far, we are able to keep clean sheets regularly, and we get quite a few goals. Plus it means no one is lumbered with the ANY positions, which as those who have played it will know can be very very stressful 70% of the time.

Plus I have noticed a lot less FIFAing since we started doing this.

Apart from the goal when the keeper dived over two defenders and the ball to leave them a tap in...

The only downside is the complete lack of jumping for headers, could this be due to being ultra defensive? might be worth leaving it on normal for a game and seeing if it changes owt, or on high pressure?

Yup, good fun and as said, nice to not have to have an any.

As Ellis and I briefly discussed, we could get over the poor keeper distribution with a player-keeper, but that's about the only thing at the moment.

thats a fair point, but what i do alot is just simply call for the pass repeatedly then they usually make a vague effort.

Didn't quite get into division 3. We needed to win the last game but lost 4-2.

Couple of wins at the end and we end the season on fourteen points, just like previous season. Had one game at promotion, we got a bit done over.

Also, when Joe, Ayron and I were doing those final games we had a free kick, between box and sideline near the corner. AI took it, I had called it for it, perfect ball and header to make it 3-0. This may be something to consider (or just explore it a bit more) for non-shooting attempt free kicks. They are a pain to get right.

Gave up on my last 2 sessions for fifa, no matter which way I put the ball it goes straight to the keeper WITHOUT fail, I have not had a shot on target go in for around 20 matches with about 76 shots. Our last game in cup (me and ellis) ended with a penalty shootout with me in goals after all of his shots going straight to the middle of the goalie, it went 6-6 in pens with me saving a few, our AI missing around 3, I dived to save one and my pro palmed a weak penalty into the net, the AI of all people done a penalty stutter on me and somehow managed to chip it over me before I got up and worst of all, after our shot was saved, I knew the AI would go centre, so put my stick up in case he blasted it, the shot goes to centre, but my guy dives to left and we lose... 🤬 you EA!!!

I came on for clubs too, but Ellis and Paul are just sat there with their playstations on and not responding to any messages for the past 45 minutes now.

So people do come on, but it helps when those who tell us to are actually at their playstations practising what they preach.
