If I may input ![Big Grin :D :D](/wp-content/themes/gtp16/images/smilies/biggrin.svg?v=3)
We do have areas for improvement no doubt about it. I could be better at moving the ball out faster. I will admit that. We all have our selfish tendencies. At the end of the day, its a game and we want the success of getting the goals or the nice assists.
On the note of positioning. I harp on about it, because in games, when everyone has done their role and stuck to position we HAVE won. And noticeably. It means when we have the ball you know where to find someone, and when defending it means that we have shape. Pushing up as a line or in the suitable position is key. I will give you an example.
We have the ball on a goal kick, it goes out to the right wing to Pagey. A defender comes tight to his front so he cannot run down the wing. He could pass to per say sureshot in cam or cm inside, Switch to JB on the left or come back to per say you in CDM. Having shape gives options and Viable ones at that. If Sureshot was sat upforont with the strikers, you were sat in sureshots position, possibly marked and JB was covered by a defender then what can Pagey do, apart from hoof it up and possibly lose possession. And if you go back you are relying on AI, probably marked by an afro.

Free kicks is a lottery. From the amount I have taken, Sureshot has taken, Paul has taken etc, they are pot luck. You can put the same power and spin on a ball the same place, 6 out of 10 will miss, the other 3.999 will hit the wall or dribbley to the keepers hands. And one may sneak in.
Corners again, pot luck. We have experimented with a target man about 50 seasons ago and a few times since. It doesn't work effectively enough to justify a slow and bumbely striker up front.
Quick passing, not to great shakes. It may work for a few, but with your philosophy of anti out of position and pushing up, it wont work. And in the slim chance it did, you WILL get fifa touched. And the ball will come back to haunt us if we push up all at once out of position.
Now the tricky thing is when you get swarmed, yes you should pass it out, but you have to take your eyes off your player and that means you will be tackled. Again, in positions, no need to look etc etc.
Regarding long free kicks, I agree. We need a system. FIFA has made them pretty ineffective though. Back post crosses should work and they get there but FIFA physics make you player unable to get there.
Pushing up is great when we are down. It is needed. But when people do it when we are 1-0 up, especially towards the last 20 mins is just asking for trouble.
I hope I made sense in all that and not too ranty. I get what you are saying. But a lot of it is down to how **** FIFA is online!![LOL  ](/wp-content/themes/gtp16/images/smilies/lol.svg?v=3)
And I agree with what Pagey said regarding Paul
