If I may input :D

We do have areas for improvement no doubt about it. I could be better at moving the ball out faster. I will admit that. We all have our selfish tendencies. At the end of the day, its a game and we want the success of getting the goals or the nice assists.

On the note of positioning. I harp on about it, because in games, when everyone has done their role and stuck to position we HAVE won. And noticeably. It means when we have the ball you know where to find someone, and when defending it means that we have shape. Pushing up as a line or in the suitable position is key. I will give you an example.

We have the ball on a goal kick, it goes out to the right wing to Pagey. A defender comes tight to his front so he cannot run down the wing. He could pass to per say sureshot in cam or cm inside, Switch to JB on the left or come back to per say you in CDM. Having shape gives options and Viable ones at that. If Sureshot was sat upforont with the strikers, you were sat in sureshots position, possibly marked and JB was covered by a defender then what can Pagey do, apart from hoof it up and possibly lose possession. And if you go back you are relying on AI, probably marked by an afro.

(im just using names by the way, not actual examples  )

Free kicks is a lottery. From the amount I have taken, Sureshot has taken, Paul has taken etc, they are pot luck. You can put the same power and spin on a ball the same place, 6 out of 10 will miss, the other 3.999 will hit the wall or dribbley to the keepers hands. And one may sneak in.

Corners again, pot luck. We have experimented with a target man about 50 seasons ago and a few times since. It doesn't work effectively enough to justify a slow and bumbely striker up front.

Quick passing, not to great shakes. It may work for a few, but with your philosophy of anti out of position and pushing up, it wont work. And in the slim chance it did, you WILL get fifa touched. And the ball will come back to haunt us if we push up all at once out of position.

Now the tricky thing is when you get swarmed, yes you should pass it out, but you have to take your eyes off your player and that means you will be tackled. Again, in positions, no need to look etc etc.

Regarding long free kicks, I agree. We need a system. FIFA has made them pretty ineffective though. Back post crosses should work and they get there but FIFA physics make you player unable to get there.

Pushing up is great when we are down. It is needed. But when people do it when we are 1-0 up, especially towards the last 20 mins is just asking for trouble.

I hope I made sense in all that and not too ranty. I get what you are saying. But a lot of it is down to how **** FIFA is online!

And I agree with what Pagey said regarding Paul

Yes pagey that argument would be valid if 1. I hadn't played over 400 games with the club and 2. Head honcho type 3. Paul G who does what he wants :sly: But honestly, the reason I cant be arsed with clubs anymore besides fifa's BS is that whenever I did suggest something different back in the days when I used to harp on about not constantly using the wings, to me and ellis saying to stick to position, to now just simple things which could tighten up and help things flow better and everything I have ever said has been remembered for mabye 10 game minutes then completely forgotten about, Even though the things stated earlier helped improve the clubs massively but it took a sit down and in depth talk for people to take it onboard like ellis's team talk and constant reminders of the likes of positioning and all that smush.

Stay in position and let the ball do the work basically.:guilty:

With regards to position I didn't mean to say for the defense/defensive mids to push up every single time we get the ball. But a few times in the match, when on the counter or when trying to find a way through I see no harm in Youngun pushing up to put in a cross, or win a header. Basically when the time is right.

In future if this does happen and we have a player "out of position" I will try to back track and just sit behind. I'm useless at headers anyway, but I slot in the odd long shot. Then if they break and launch a counter I can sprint back and cover any gaps, cover any runs etc.

I understand the argument for players to stay in position, but if we apply a system like the above, so a player covers another's position while they attack (see it all the time in professional football) then I see no reason why some can't push forward on the odd occasion.

If we use a system where under absolutely no circumstances can the def/def mids push forward, they are going to get pretty bored and lose interest. I know I would.

I think we should perhaps stop worrying and over thinking what we're doing right or wrong :P.

I agree with a lot thats been said but if we try thinking all that through in one game we just wont achieve anything successfully, Div 3 for some average lads who turn up on evenings isnt bad going :) 👍

Also to guys I mean I don't wanna sound pompous or anything..
But covering etc. the stamina in this game is terrible? and such.
Also not passing just because the heat is on, a pass should be a gift (you would give someone a bad gift would you??)
Also just been piss farting about in drop in matches today, been observing that unlike real football it's very hard to open up the space at the front of the 18 yd box?? Also that when a player had a ball 2 or more players will be trying to dispossess said player, leaving someone else open!! Enough practice and I think we could have a grasp on this

Second Wind trait is an absolute must.

I don't find Stamina an issue any more, if you're missing out on Stamina achievements then tell us so we can get it boosted.

Same here, I only ever struggle in cup matches when it goes to extra time.

Which reminds me isn't the cup window open soon?

Be on about 9 tonight, if people have specific accomplishments they want to get, post them in here and we can plan for ìt.

50% stamina left as a forward for 3 matches - stamina +2
Impossible in drop in as everyone trys for forward to farm goaks

I need a penalty accomplishment (11/15 atm)

And two finesse goals from outside the box to score.

Oh and I need to score a sweaty goal.

3 yards out? Be careful I ran the ball in to the net and ìt didn't count. I've been a bit delayed, will be half past, hopefully people are on.

I need one more goal from the laces outside the box. One more goal from my weak foot outside the box. And one more goal from a free kick. Oh and one more penalty.

I'm on now, Stiggy and Paul are on too, dunno if they are up for games though.

Cup games are always bad. We had one very good match (which they quit when we were 3-0 up) and another one where we played well, but got FIFA'd second half.

We need a tactic against 5 at the back, there's got to be one. So crowded.

They only way to possibly get round it is play with 5 in defence as well, kind of makes sense too as we normally only occupy the attacking positions anyway. We could run a 5-3-2 or something. That way we'd have our usual positions, wingers and strikers. Or even a 5-4-1, no idea how these formations look in FIFA though.

Plus I don't know how to attack 5 at the back, only way I can think of is have a big target man upfront, feed balls in from the wing and corners for him to try and head it in. There's no point trying to attack down the middle, it's so hard to get through, and on counters they have too many back.
