The past few nights for me on FIFA:
Their left back isn't up to much, I've got tonnes of space. Oooo, we've got the ball, let's make a run. Christ look at all this space, "right side, right side, loads of space"
Ball gets passed out left to someone being marked, player gets tackled. Back I go.
Ooooo we've got the ball, damn its an AI. Okay, I'm making a run. Look at this space again! A through ball now will put me one on one with the keeper. Wait.....now!!
Just about to press triangle, someone behind the AI player calls for the ball, AI player running towards goal passes it back. Player gets tackled. Back to defend I go.
Ooooo we've got the ball, "right side!" Ball gets chipped over to the striker, its too heavy, straight to the keeper.
Back to defend I go.
....sigh....
It's kind of funny, but pretty annoying too. Especially when people call for the ball at stupid times. One person in particular calls for it every single time an AI gets the ball. Even if the AI is running in the opposite direction, with someone in space in front of the AI he will still call for it. So the AI tries to turn and pass, the ball doesn't get to the player and then I hear moaning about how crap the pass was.
I'm pretty tired and grouchy after a crap day, but can some people try to use common sense when calling for the ball?
The amazing team we played in our last match in div 3 played so well because they called for the ball at the right time. They got into space, waited for the AI turned in their direction, and then called. That's all it takes.
I think we need to take more time on the ba too, within reason of course. I lost count of the amount of times someone received the ball and a split second later lobbed to ball over way too early, and it goes straight to the keeper or defender.
Just my two cents
