The South African keeper came out with a tackle that was never going to get the ball. If he had stood his ground and stayed on his feet I doubt he would have been able to to score as the ball was going away from goal.

If the keeper had not clipped his foot he may have been able to score.

In football it's now a standard procedure that if you take down a player one-on-one without getting the ball you're going off. Poor decision by the South African keeper.

I don't agree with the instant red card in that situation, but they have to apply a deterrent to stop keepers and defenders taking the risk of taking down players when clearly through on goal.

It's generally considered that, unless you commit a foul that prevents a goal-scoring opportunity - which this wasn't - a penalty is sufficient... errr... penalty and a red card shouldn't be considered. If the foul prevents a goal-scoring opportunity then it's a professional foul for which the mandatory punishment is a red card wherever the foul is committed.

I agree that it should have been a yellow card and a penalty. It's a shame because it literally danced on the grave of an already dead game.

I still think the keeper made an error by going in with feet and not even getting close to the ball.

It's a good job I'm not in that. 2 - 0 Argentina, there's plenty more goals in this game.

I still don't know wtf Korea is thinking when they advance the ball on the wings. They get all the way to the corner and then pass back to the halfway line instead of crossing it. Don't they know they have to keep the goal margin close?
