FINAL GT6 2016 STORAGETRUNKS GT500 BASE SERIES-Monday Nights 18:30UKFinished

OK. MIGHT JOIN OR NOT.

Edit: I will not be able to join you today. There is a UEFA Champions League qualification match I will watch in an restaurant... or at home.

chat with Crazyjohn today
After a lengthy chat with Crazyjohn today, i have found that we all may take heed of what we found out.

When i have watched John in the mirrors during race or replay, or ahead of me in the same, also in live Qualy when i am observing him, it seems almost impossible that he is getting his car around the track, as it seems to almost all of us his car is very erratic in its movements.

I have found that John, sees all he is doing as smooth and deliberate, which i dont doubt, as it would be impossible to drive the way we see his car react.

So a lengthy chat, and i would tell all drivers, when they are nearby john.

When John is behind you,
although it may look like it, he is not swerving left and right, as it appears, looking to dive up the inside at every oppertuninty.

When John is in front of you
although it may look like it, he is not not diving leaft and right trying to block you from passing.

From Johns point of view all seems smooth and fine.

So i have asked John to drop back a little when he is following another car, so you wont think he is looking for a crazy overtake.

I also ask everyone to do the same to John when he is ahead, just be aware that he is not trying to block you.

I just think if we all try to bear this in mind, it may save any further issues, just realise that what you see, is not actually what is happening.

And one further point can we possibly try stay in the practice room on Monday as people will be joining when they can instead of all at once and possibly causing it to crash and give us issues... Just a thought as it seems that when we are always on practice rooms there seems to be no issues with seeing others ?? What you all think???

Well Daniel
, i can only say i have tried this many times before.
The problem is, drivers come in, then all have to oil before the race start.
So leave and come back again.
Often they come in form another race room, rather than a reset, however i am happy to try it,
but we did try in the last series, and it made no difference, it only delayed the start further as in the end we all had to reset and new room anyway.

I will say that from experience, we seem to get less dc during the race, with a complete reset and new room.
Over 90 plus minutes, our dc rate is fantastic, really very few get dcd, its just the start we all cant see each other.

I prefer a new reset into a new room myself.

What would happen on overtakes? If he's overtaking us or we're overtaking him? You said stay a bit more behind from John when infront and him to stay more back when he's behind.. Would the person be using not as much power as they could as they'll catch up easily.. Unless you can just make it a great risk, lol. Even when he weaves and he isn't..on our side the weaves are real and if he knocks you by accident you go flying. And he'll see that all smoothly and not as dramatic as we would.
I hope you know what im trying to get at :)

I am just saying
that John has agreed to give others more room, and we should also give him more room.

It may get better when he is back in his normal premises, but as we know even in Qualy, when we observe, it looks almost undrivable to us, as his car looks to be just all over the place, but to John it seems smooth.
And the same is true in the race.

If John was behind you, it looked like he was looking to dive up the inside all the time, when he wasnt, to him he is just following close behind quite smoothly.
So if john just gives the car a little more room in front, it wont appear that he is so threatening.

The same goes for us, when behind John, he looks like he is trying to block all the time, when he is not, so if we just allow more space around John when following him.

Of course when its time to pass him, then do it.

Hi, is anyone on tonight so I can qualify? I am away all weekend, so this will be my last chance to do it, I would've done it yesterday but I was quite a bit slower than my pace on Tuesday for some bizarre reason! Thanks

This is quite confusing. You say give more space to John when behind but how can we pass him then? When is that time?

I should be on tonight.

When overtaking yes thats fine to just go.

But when John is following you it appears a like he is going to dive inside or outside you all the time as his car seems to move about so much - this makes the driver ahead think john is trying to pass in silly places - when he is not.

When you are following John, his car seems to be trying to block you the whole time, when in fact he is not.

So these things can make people get angry - and John is really not trying to pass or block all the time.
It is just his car seems to be all over the track.

Watch his Q laps, it looks like there is no way he can make a lap, as his car seems to move about so much.

Thats all i am saying, i am trying to avoid people getting hot under the collar.

hey Stephen how you going ... busy as ever ..am I allowed to go have a practise please with the lobby that is open now...
Yes sure Luke, i am not on tonight, but you can join for practice.

I suggest restarting you psn and clearing cashe before you join.

They may be doing official qualy at the moment, so that needs to be an unlaggy room, but im sure you can join after.

Qualy and practice lobby open.

@Stephen Vann @nissman

Ok, just thought Id post up an exciting thing...

So last night, in another series, I ended up Hosting the races. Of 14 drivers. No DCs for 1 quali round and 3 x 20 minute races. It sounds insane and it is, we all know my connection isn't great, but somehow it hosted well. What I did is below, if it is any use for us (or GT6 lobbies in general) then great !

It all boils down to the fact that - as many people note - it is when more than one person tries to join a room at the one time, that the connections cannot connect cleanly to one another, and any 'misconnections' get tied around each other (I think). So my solution is below hope it makes sense

1. All drivers into a room in Club Lobby. It doesn't matter who can and cant see each other, its just 'registration'. Lets say X is host in ROOM 1 at the moment, and Y is to be the actual race host
2. Person Y leaves the room and creates a new Club Lobby with race settings, ROOM 2. NOBODY ELSE MOVES.
3. Person Y enters the pits in the ROOM 2, and lets Person X know that the new lobby is up and running.
4. Person X then directs one driver at a time, Alphabetically, to leave ROOM 1 and join ROOM 2, at 30 SECOND intervals.
5. As soon as the directed driver gets into ROOM 2, he goes straight to the pits and doesn't move
6. This continues until only Person X is in ROOM 1
7. Then Person X leaves room 1 and is the last to join ROOM 2, again straight to pits.

Once this is done, and so long as no one else then joins, or leaves, then people can go into pits, to track, out, etc etc and there was NOT ONE TIME that someone didn't see everyone (EVEN FOR ME!!!!!)

It worked amazing, I hosted for like 80 minutes with my not great connection with nobody DC'ing, so with a stronger connection...:gtpflag:

(also I am sorry if it has been tried before 👍👍:))

That is awesome delta we will definitely do that on Monday.
In fact it it may work that people join the race Lobby in q order and stay in pitbox , that way they will all be in q order when the race starts.
But great dj thank you

I agree we should do this. But I still think we should have a german host(gueve).

German connection never failed in EGT series. Central Europian location must do the trick.

Agree with delta maybe the host of the actual race room should message the old room host everytime a driver has entered and gone to pits just so we know that everyone joined one by one and not accientently having 2 join at once I don't maybe one couldn't join first time round and then had to try again by which time the next person was also trying just a thought... But also agree with Steve qualy order may be a good shout also

Yeah agree with the relevant comments above. Hopefully it helps on Monday, even though all told lobby's have actually been OKish of late 👍

Just need to sort out my Tokyo lap times...I know they are in me somewhere...if anyone could tell me where I put them....

Tomorrow i will post a procedure for Mondays race.

Also, i really think the fastest connection is better for hosting to be honest.

Its a peer to peer system, so the host who has the fastest and most stable connection will always have a better quality room, and less lag than a slower connection, no matter where in the world they are located.

I am happy to try anything, but having hosted about 7 series over 3 years, i have a really fast and stable connection, 150mbs download and 40mbd upload, fibre optic cable plugged directly into my psn.

But anyways i will post a joining system tomorrow.
