Final Quick Match Races 2-7-18

As good as calling you a hacker/SRF user ;)

I think I ground them into submission with the hundreds of races I've had on that track.:P

The new quick matches have got Eiger (supercars) and Suzuka (GT500s) and those tracks love SRF. It's going to hard work with this batch. Nurburgring chicanes cutters with the touring cars so that's a no go but for the life of me, I can't remember what LMP's they said it was or where they're running.

At least Suzuka is a track that can sort the men from the boys...or the girls from the women to avoid being sexist. I wouldn't want to upset Kossie...

(Just kidding Kossie.)

Same batch of LMP's as usual. Indy GP is a great course for them but on RH tires there's some adjustments the racers find they need make right away!! Take it EZ, let the nuts beat themselves up the first couple turns then settle in for some pedaling and easy braking to work your way through the pack. I used the FWD GTR but just couldn't keep the RPM's up through the last switch backs and let the Peugeot and Audi have their way with me. Will continue working with ABS to find the right setting (usually 7 works) to keep close then perhaps we can use it's fantastic speed to blow 'em away on the front straight. All in all this group of QM is super I think:) 👍👍.

We all know the days of online GT6 are in a count down to a natural death :ill: so the next few races PD give us we hope are as cool as this group:cheers:. The seasonal's are pretty cool and I really like the Chrome Line R8 they gave us too!! 👍👍

My plan was to try all of them out tonight but as usual, the GT500s hooked me again. I don't know what it is with them and the GT3s but I struggle to walk away from them if there's people to race. They switched them back to RH and it was bliss being able to steer them on the throttle again as well. My trigger finger is aching from all the throttle balancing though.

So true. With all the skill levels out there, you've got to let the grid settle down before you start making your move.👍

I've tried most of them, except the super cars.

They are all reruns, but still fun. Suzuka with the GT500 cars is really hard. I found myself sweating thru my T shirt from focusing so hard. Even with TC2 and ABS3.

The touring cars at the Nurb are my favorite, but the track cutters crush a little of the fun...when they make it work. 99% of them suck so bad they are still much slower even cutting the track everyplace they can find. lol

Saving up for my discounted (soon old) PS4 and GTS soon.

TS030 at Indy Road Course is fantastic! Ramming doesn't work out that well because it's ultra slippery so they soon crash or spin out by themselves. 4 laps make it a long race.

With right stick throttle (thanks @TNR_KING_FILO for that) it's quite DS3 friendly. Must downshift for max turn in rotation. Be very delicate once it points in, then avoid 100% gas until straight.

1:59s GT500 at Suzuka using Yellowhat. Again, bizarre traction free anti-setup by PDI. But it gives the GTR as much rotation as HSV. Cannot go full gas through the sweeper after Hairpin.

Supercars is appauling ram fest with penalty-free unstoppable battering rams. It also attracts NFS noobs with crap connections, rubbish routers and dying disk drives. In short, endless loading then endless ramming for maximum irritation. :yuck:

Didn't try Nürb because, well, I've never seen a good Quick Match on the 24H course. DTM on the short course was sometimes great so the longer GP variant could be OK?

Well.... that nordwant(or whatever) is fun, But there are really 🤬 there. I drive a couple races with clean racers but that $%^&& destroy it because there is no penalty system. I actually let people win here because that %^&* dont brake.

I was going to try Eiger last night but then saw it had boost on.:yuck:

Had an hour in the GT3s and didn't see many short cutters at all. The one's I did see were too far back when they tried it and still serving their long penalty when I blew past them. I got a message off them afterwards calling me a dirty arabien (had to include their typo) somethingorother, even with my British flag showing...followed by another saying a cheat is just a dirty loser and they're sending a video to sony to report me. 2.00.2 was my best lap after 5 or 6 races.

Suzuka has still got to be my favourite. I tried it with TC1 on but found it unpredictably snatchy when you're pushing so I switched back to 0 and went back to feathering the throttle. The hairpin is a total 🤬 to get the power down though. I haven't got it right once. Had a couple of 56.8s (Motul GTR) but low 57s were regular for the HSV's.

I find it's really easy to overdrive the car and then battle with the heat in the tires. I got my quickest times by slowing down and hugging the apexes but I don't think I'll ever get Spoon Curve right. Evil corner with low grip.

I think I saw SRF forced on at Eiger last night. I was at a friend's house and he never runs SRF.
It is forced on, which I suppose at least means an even playing field. Took me a few races to realise that boost was on - couldn't work out why my lap times were so variable!

All of the cars are sleepers when boost is turned on. When they did the HSR quick match with the same settings, I sat on the grid and gave everyone a 30 second head start and then went 5 seconds quicker on my best lap time trying to catch up. Get someone slow in the race and they'll make it so you can get nowhere near your best lap with the extra strong rubber band they use to keep people together.

/Sits on the grid for 3 laps and laughs mercilessly at coryclifford who finds he can't get anywhere near his best lap time because boost holds him back.:D

lol, reading your posts guys.

I like the Corvette too. Seems to handle small slides well and has good balance. A little down on power in the straights though.

I won a few races with it, in fact I had a 2.65 second lead in my last race when it booted me off, which ended my night.

So on the Super Car Battle races that I did was fun. First race had couple of people not really know how to drive causing issues. Overall because of them I occurred about 20 secs of time penalties. Final lap at the last hair pin caught up to 2nd place and just ran out of laps. So I finished 3rd I went out on the warm up to practice some more and hoped that grid gods favored me. Start of the second race, I'm in Pole, GT next to me and the GT-Rs behind us. Race starts and get a good launch was the greatest and GT-R start to push me with his launch. Ford GT takes off and goes way out to the outside of the first hair pins. I take a defensive position in center of the road and dive into the hair-pin. Ford GT way out of position is now fighting the GT-R's at the next set of hair pins. I clear them with easy and took off setting a nice lap time of 1:08.5's area. Start of the 3rd lap I'm 4 seconds up on the rest of the pack fighting for 2nd. By the end of that lap a GT-R broke of and was on the hunt. On the back straight he pulls up behind me. I hold a defensive line through the fast left into the windy up hill part taking up as much road as I can. GT-R pull beside me entering into the final hair pin trying to do a outside dive in. I just see the GT-R slide into the barrier losing all speed. I cruise through the hair pin to take first. Leader board pop up and everyone is rage quiting. Half of them left with out finishing the race.

Seems like penalties come easy in the touring cars. I accidentally gave a couple out and also got about 4 when people hit me that I couldn't see. Also got a 10 second penalty when someone stopped WAY more than is needed for the first left hander. Either wasn't sure when to brake or did it intentionally.

I did have one guy bump me, give me a 5 second penalty, then waited for me...Sportsmanship! We were so far out we still finished 1-2. I bumped him in the final corner and he got up in the sand a little, so I slowed and played fair in return.

I'm up to 21 Ferrari 250's in my stockyard. 58 Ferraris in all.

Damn. I thought Suzuka had low grip until I tried Indianapolis. The best I could do was an opposite lock time of 5.41 after 4 or 5 races in the TS030. Needs work. A lot of it.

I think I might need a bit of traction control.

I kind of liked it with TC1 and abs2. Can't remember my times, but I won about 5 races and left because the room wasn't fun. Nothing more boring than 10 second margins.

I raced the super cars tonight for about 7 races. Ferrari. The last three were interesting. About race 4 I noticed someone who might be a problem, since he stopped at the pit exit to force people to crash into him on exit. Then during a race I was looking for a clean pass and he brake checked me on the straight. When I caught up and passed him, as he smashed into my car and I was on and off the pause buttons, even after my penalty he decided he would wait and try and keep me from winning anymore races. Driving backwards, swerving, brake checking and the like. Really pathetic how slow this racer was. no idea what an apex is, or braking points....If he wasn't such a hack I would have felt bad for his ability. So after winning that race and two more, also in the same repeated scenarios, it wasn't fun and I left. At that point everyone else in the room had too.

Starts with mcon, American flag, so be aware.

Sounds like the ass hat in the first race I did but he DC through that race luckily. But yeah sucks when ass hats who can't race legit do **** like that when you're trying to have a serious race. I can see if you have connections issues but when they do stuff like drive backwards and Hand brake on the straight to block paths it gets to be annoying

He's been a serial pest for a long time (350pp @ Autumn Ring, 550pp @ HSR). I don't think I've ever seen him try to race properly, just ruin the start for whoever is near him, then drive backwards round the track and wait in his favorite spot to ambush people:banghead:. He frequents the ''Boost'' events, using it to help him annoy the crap out of others. Hopefully this kind of faeces will be dealt with by the penalty system in GT Sport.

There was a Canadian in a room last night doing the same things - the bizarre thing was that when he chose to race properly he could win, but he spent most races creating havoc!

Lol, that could have been me, if you were in the QM @ eiger north. It took me a couple of races to get used to the track and the braking points. I always try to drive clean, but in the qm's I try a little less hard when im learning the car/track combo. By the third race I had it figured out...

No, definitely wasn't you - this guy was setting out to deliberately ram, driving the wrong way round the track, and then lying in wait to try and knock people off......

I said the same to him, at least it's an equal field now.

Sleeper might be the Corvette.
Good tip, With the Vette i almost always win 👍 My best lap is a 1:02. This is fun without rammers and idiots :P. A dude sent me a massage: Friend you cant race. I say why not? He say I rammed him. Well that whas ********... A other car hits me and then i hits him.

What round times you dudes make? Is there a SRF on or off function here?

I think bone_tone said SRF was on. Boost is on weak as well so lap times will be all over the place, depending on the skill levels in the race. Is it possible to get a penalty or are those turned off too?

Sounds like a great race for the dirty drivers.

Yes I got a penalty today, I dont know why, Whe get with 8 drivers after the jump taking the right turn. I was invisible but i got a 5 sec penalty LOL.

Confirm SRF is fixed at on, and boost on weak. Penalties set on weak too, and there don't seem to be many applied - fortunate given the quality of some of the driving (although @Kossie seems to have been on the receiving end!)

One thing I have noticed with this QM, and I don't know whether anyone else has experienced it, is that if you get hit up the rear by another car, sometimes your car just stops dead!
