Final Quick Match Races 2-7-18

Confirm SRF is fixed at on, and boost on weak. Penalties set on weak too, and there don't seem to be many applied - fortunate given the quality of some of the driving (although @Kossie seems to have been on the receiving end!)
, sometimes your car just stops dead!
Confirmed here also. When you drive a cornersometimes you cant give gas. I'm happy that i dont the only one who have that :P

Ok. I've heard enough. I'll stick with the other quick matches.
Give it a try, it's great fun trying to outwit the idiot drivers! If you get ahead at the start, you can watch them knocking one another about behind you......

It's one of those tracks where trying too hard works against you - lots of drivers try to pass you, and then outbrake themselves at the next corner.

I had 10 races tonight, 10 wins, despite the efforts of others to beat me up!

Had more trouble in the GT500 race, with brake-testers, and I'd forgotten about the shortcutters on the run up to the esses, and those who dive into the pits on the last lap to steal the win!

Nah. Definitely not for me. I'm there to race, not to dodge.

The SRF takes away too much of the driving enjoyment for my liking. I guess I'm set in my ways with never using it.

So I've made some races on Suzuka, and there was this person, casually doing 3 laps in 5'59, then 5'53 and then 5'43.

I guess SRF works best on GT500 than anything else.

I've done a 5.51 (1.56.6 lap) without SRF with several mistakes so those times are more than possible, I've seen a few drivers who've struggled for 58s come back the next day and run 1.52s though. A 6 second difference... In the right hands, I can easily see sub 1.50s with SRF.

The recent Ferrari race where SRF was worth a minimum of 5 seconds killed off all of the non SRF competition and was unbeatable. The best thing about seeing those lap times though is you know what you're up against and can choose whether to race them or not. I don't see the point of racing against someone using it. There's no way possible for me to find 4 seconds a lap to draw level, never mind go quicker and beat them.

Everyone should leave if they see those times and try and close their race. Let them retry with the possibility of no SRF to exploit.👍

I meant to say 5.51 for Suzuka, not 41. Sorry. A 5.43 is someone using SRF who really shouldn't be. They're the ones who already know how to drive.

GT500 + RH + Suzuka

well, there goes an easy 2 hours a night for me.

Put in 45 minutes or so last night, and these cars feel great on RH rubber compared with the last Midfield event.
ANd suzuka is that kind of track where you can let it hang out and be fast. IF the car doesn't bite you like these ones do.
I have a habit of coming out of the S-curves, up over the hill and through the left kink with a bit of a slide,
hold hard left at the braking area for the next right hander,
Problem is, i'm just dropping half a LH wheel over that white-line under brakes, and it snaps the car around backwards,
ended up in the sand a couple of times,
but on one occasion, I pulled off the best GT500, reverse-entry-drift through that corner....
NO connection problems what so ever, and apart from the odd dive-bomber at the first corner (Ayrton Senna, 1990-Style) had some great racing with 10+ drivers.

The Suzuka event is fun, unless your battling with competitive racers. Then it gets tuff driving on ice and having the back step out in 4th and even sometimes 5th gear. I've never seen a race car at any event other then top fuel lose traction near max speeds. :/
I'm picturing a set up they must have used with rear springs twice as stiff as the front, no rear downforce and zero rear toe.
lol

Also tried the GTR at Nurb last night. Fast on the straights, pushes like a grey hound bus in the corners. BMW or Corvette for me so far seem best.

Switched TC to 1 in the TS030 and started running 1.22's last night. Stupidly quick off the line using the handbrake and no revs. Several times I went from 8+ on the grid to first into turn one but as you probably know, a bad idea as you end up battered and bruised and back into 8th+ with the people who forget they've got brakes. From 1st or 2nd, it can give you a couple of seconds head start though. Broke into the 5.39s at the end of the session so good progress.

Switched to the GTR from the BMW at Nurburgring and started hitting 59s at last. I was losing too much time dealing with the over steer out of the slower corners with the BMW and to be honest, getting a bit peeved watching GTR's run away from me, even when I was in the slipstream. I miss the ease it can take the Schumaker esses but riding the curbs going up the hill seems to negate the extra weight in the GTR so you can carry more speed. Embarrassing when you get it wrong but at least you can build a sandcastle on your way through the sand.:P

Suzuka is still my favourite though. The high speed sections with the knife edge handling really keeps you on your toes. You've got to be so precise with the throttle and steering inputs but hugely rewarding when you get it right. The Yellowhat seems to be a little more forgiving in those sections and seemed to be quicker for it and I started hitting mid 56s regularly and I still haven't done a mistake free lap. I really want to reach the 55s but I'll need a purple patch to get it.

I've never had it so good with this batch of quick matches. If the race I'm in is too rough or I've got an SRFer to deal with, I've still got a couple of others I enjoy to choose from. Bored of buying Miura's though as I'm averaging around 15 million credits a night.

Spent about 80 minutes in the Nurb driving the Mercedes for the first time. Goes pretty well. A little less steering than the BMW, similar to the vette, but more rear traction than both. My best total was 6.04.xx and my best lap was a 1.59.01, which was fast enough to be called a, "stupid chicane cutter who will be reported."

People should save and watch the video replay before making accusations if they can't keep up. Besides, I passed him WAY before we even got to the chicane...clean pass too. lol

Indeed Wedjim, some are convinced we're a hack if they can't keep up ;). I've followed the directions posted here and have tried numerous times to get the SRF to work but still haven't seen it turned on. Oh well, no biggie. Suzuka, the Yellow Hat was my fav and I've done pretty good with it but a couple days ago after seeing a few do really well with the Lexus in this and other GT500 QM I decided to give it a go. At 0 TC, ABS @ 1 or 2 it drives differently than the Honda or Nissan's and is taking a while to get the feel. It hits torque at a much lower RPM than the others and feels like a powerhouse when I hit the shifts right. I'm old school and shift by sound rather than watch the tack so that's hampering me a bit as it sounds different but I'm enjoying the learning curve and starting to do better with it. At the NBRingGP there's alot of pushing and shoving but on that rare occasion I get a good first couple corners I can hold my own in the Blue Nissan (can't quite remember the name). The supercars at Eiger,, done that one a couple times in the 'Vette and Italia but always get my old butt slammed off the track so gave up. My fav of these QM by far is the prototypes at Indy. The racehorse in that one is again the little TSO30, daymn that little hotrod can boogie!! I prefer the Audi or the Peugeot's but when a good driver in the TSO30 is in the race there's no way I can challenge him (or her) unless they make a mistake - and I do not. Then we have a fun run. Typically I see 1:23's in the cars I drive but I see the Toyota run low 1:22's often. I do like to drive the FRW GTR with TC at 0 and ABS at 7, but never do any better than a 1:25. Last eve there was a Frenchman in that car running 1:21 laps's and a total time in the low 5:30's - something surely seems askew to run numbers THAT low in that car? We've seen discussion it IS possible to hack the loaner cars in QM. I suspect that driver is in one of those hacks,, have any of you seen that car run numbers that low?

The touring and rally car races are good fun. It took me an hour to work out Apricot in reverse as I'm sure I've never seen it before but it's got a good flow and some killer corners waiting for you when you slightly miss your line.

Going to sit out the GT500s this time though. Monaco is hardly the best place for overtaking.

Wait you can bring your own cars to any quick match?
It would also be cool if PD added a quick match called "GT300 class race car battle"
And the cars should be:
1. Autobacs ARTA Garaiya '08

2. Lexus weds sport IS350 '08

3. RE Amemiya Aspradrink RX7 '06

4. Subaru BRZ R&D Sport '12

Does this quick match seem good?
PD think about it! It seems like a good quick match! Am getting bored of GT500. :boggled:

I enjoyed racing against you as you've got impeccable race craft. Brilliant to see in the unpredictable world of quick match.👍

I'm Digtater in there and hopefully we'll get some more racing done.
Always a pleasure to race against @BALDY500 !

Monaco is fun 👍
Usually only 3 or 4 cars in a race though - London seems to get the most racers, although driver standards do vary.

Raced there against a Cossie tonight!!

I do remember seeing you now you mention it,I didn't know that was you though & thanks for the kind words,I always try & keep it clean
When I'm sober lol

Am I crazy or have QM been updated again? I jumped on quickly last night and saw a 600PP race with tuned cars from your garage and the return of the Miata single make race.

Just about to jump into a 600pp tuned car...when I finally make my mind up on which one to use.:D

Tuned 600pp non race car (SS tires) at Deep Forest, the same tuned Mazda Roadsters we had at Cape Ring with 464pp on SH tires at Tsukuba, Touring cars at Midfield (courtesy car) and courtesy K Car's (660cc or less) at Gran Turismo Arena reverse. All expert events too.
