Final Quick Match Races 2-7-18

I am looking forward to these events, although 600PP is too high for me to take the school bus yellow Infiniti FX45, I'll have to tune something else. KOR Kaine will see you out there....

The MP4 is a dream to drive at Deep Forest and very easy to throw around. I'm not sure where I got the tune from but I'll put it up later when I can get to the console. I've got a few others I can list as well and if you're not keen on chucking a FR or MR around, the GTR Concept and @Ed_Night 's 670 Veloce from a recent TT work well. Speed isn't as important as handling at Deep Forest so there's a shed load of competitive cars you can choose from.

Annoying being completely surround by ZZII's all day (dull car to look at) but the tune they're using seems to be struggling with the bumps and gradients. I imagine that'll soon change...

NSXR Prototype is a great car (with full down force) to get your line down but weirdly, it doesn't seem to be that competitive.

The Mazda Roadster works well with the tune from the last Cape Ring quick match and you can even add more ballast. I was running low 1.01s with 150KG of ballast with that tune and mid 01's with 110KG. A shame I can't stand the track though. Six corners? No thanks.

Managed to get into the Deep Forest race last night, had some nice races using the Me Mans quattro, low 3 minutes 40's for wins until a Ferrari Enzo turned up and started running 1m09 laps and blew everyone into the weeds. Still good fun though and a nice alternative to the seasonals

Jeez. I'm struggling to get into the 11s with my quickest cars and I'm running close to perfect laps. No chance of finding that much time.

If I'm honest, running 9s in an Enzo sounds very suspicious. I wouldn't think it was quicker than the usual go to 600pp cars we normally see and I've not seen any of those go as quick. More likely SRF giving them a helping hand.

I've seen nothing higher than a high 1min10 in all of the races I've run at Deep Forest - I can regularly run 1.11s in the ZZ11 (which is faster without SRF than with it here), and certainly wouldn't expect an Enzo to be that quick!

Is no one using the NSX prototype? I would think it could get into the 1:09s. I used the Viper GTSR Concept and could get low 1:12s with it.

Quite a few people have been using it, but it's not as fast as you'd expect for some reason.

The NSx's I've seen usually end up getting used as brakes in turn 1, then they get battered in the pack. The ZZ's with the custom wings seem to be the strongest runners I've seen, followed by the 12C's. The Enzo was crazy though, from the back of a 12 car grid he did a steady 1m19 first lap to lead at the start of lap 2, went 1m10 and said 'thank you and goodnight' with a 1m09

Decided to take a break from hot lapping on AC and dragged out the Mazda Roadster for a bit of fun, used my old tune as well with 105kgs @ 35 and could lap on average at about 1:00.7xx (no SRF) so if you decide to give it another crack, maybe try lighter.

Edit: 1:00.9's with more people in the lobby.

As much as I love driving the car, I just can't handle Tsukuba. A seriously boring track. I think I'm mentally scarred from GT5 and the 9 hour endurance race I did there.

Deep Forest has got all of my attention now anyway. About 30 600pp cars all tuned for whatever mood I'm in at the time and I'm still finding alternatives to try out. It's a shame that a lot of people stick to just one quick car when there's such a huge range to run with though. I'd love to see more of a mixed grid instead of the usual rabbit cars disappearing into the distance but I suppose it's the norm. They go fishing expecting to catch while I use a hand line and a bit of bread and occasionally get a win. It's not really racing if you're expecting to win.

My point was that there's dozens of cars capable of winning and that you don't necessarily need to use the quickest. It's racing, not time trialing.

You see way too many of these quick matches degenerate into seeing the top cars race after race and it really takes the shine off them. I was in an M4 last night with 12 other drivers. 11 were in ZZII's and the other an NSX prototype...

I've won races in Mustang's, Ferrari's, Audi's, GTR's, KTM's, BMW's, Mclaren's and even the Citroen GT. Trying the Ford GT's tonight and seeing what I can do with the RX7's and 8's as well. Winning in those cars means a lot more to me than winning in the quickest cars so I barely ever use them.

If i start in a race I want to WIN, That's racing, So thats why I ask what is the fastest car. I race a race to win. Maybe we can put a rail on the track.... I get F1 flashbacks...

McLaren 12C, ZZ II (with custom wing), 458, all have been winners capable of running 1m11 laps, Freaky Enzo still the fastest I've seen with a 1m09, guy last night running 1m10 all night in at KTM

If you're talking about miheyy or whatever his name was, he had SRF on, like he usually does. He usually gets times similar to me in time trials but then runs 2 or 3 seconds quicker per lap in every quick match.

I've run the ZZII with and without SRF, and found it to be quicker without (I think it needs the rear end to slide a bit) - also find it faster without the rear wing, seems much better balanced.

I had one of my best ever races in a quick match last night! I was just about to give up on it as I had a few people knock me off on purpose, unclean racing or if I got out in front dominated by a mile! However, this race happened and I was so chuffed to finally get a race as good as this on quick match! Occasionally it actually works :D!

Haven't raced on Midfield since the previous Gran Turismo version that had it so was well chuffed with this fast/fun/clean race :)!

He was in the XBow type R

If it's the person I'm thinking of (I was racing 8123ub last night), he was in the XBow Type R.

I haven't used the ZZ myself and can't really comment on how it handles there but even though it's one of the best 600pp cars (judging by TT's) it just feels wrong somehow. Like you have to force it to do what you want it to do. Weird.

(...and please turn your SRF off in career mode so you never see it turned on in quick match. You'll never have the quandary of comparing SRF on/off handling then.👍)

Well that was better than watching the grand prix. Nerves of steel from the guy in front. Do you know him or was it just a random?

I have SRF turned off - I just checked to see whether turning it on made any difference to my times.

Honestly that was completely random, which is why I find it so amazing :D! I messaged him after to congratulate and also thank him for a great race as it really did make my night last night!

I've tried:
corvette c7
Audi R8
Ferrari 458
VW nardo
