Final Quick Match Races 2-7-18

Yes you get mileage.
Mileage is important for upgrading cars etc., Exp could be even more important ( for some of you ).
Be quick, read this ;) v ... page 5 onwards

Grinding For Credits

Forgot to link it mate. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/grinding-for-credits.361900/page-5

After a bit of reading, it's really not for me. I actually enjoy the grind for new cars etc.

I'll run a few longish races (30-40 laps) on the new tracks in arcade to get used to them. I need equal cars to race though as I seem to be struggling when I get close to my limit. The game doesn't seem to like people who over drive.

The glitch referred to in that topic was being used in the online races this week, before PD fixed it by blocking the pit entries off.....

It's not for cars or credits. Like you I enjoy 'working' for cars and tuning ... I'm not even a collector - always tried to keep my garage lean and managable. Alone, 2.400.000 exp points felt like a thousand cars in the garage. I could be wrong here for sure, just thought I'd post
this so no one misses an opportunity :).

Hey, guys !
I am curious how did they use a GSX-R4 in the 400PP Quick match, because I tried one and just couldn't get the setup to make it lower that 407PP ?
Sorry if it was earlier explained, I'm new, I read 10 pages back but didn't any info about that !
Thanks !

You may have noticed that there is not a lot of love for the GSX-R4 (aka gixxer) from the posters in this thread, but you have to add weight and use the power limiter. If you search for "GT6 400PP GSX-R4 tune" - use Google rather than the forum search - you'll find some good set-ups.
Welcome to GTP.

Thanks !
I haven't noticed that, I'm sorry for it, but I was really intrigued by that "how the hell"!
And now I laugh my ass, because I realize that I'm almost at the end of my Gran Turismo career and I didn't knew the trick with weight adding ! ;)

Welcome to GTP, ramurel.

This thread is a treasure trove for QM tunes/info and seeing as they're all repeated now, you'll find exactly what you're looking for with future QM's. A great way of getting a head start in the first few days of the races.

While there's no competition for the gixxer, you'll find a lot of entertaining alternatives.

It's the fifth icon from the left, called "link". Thank you for pointing it out anyway. Judging by how popular the M4 bug was with GT6, I'm not surprised it's getting hammered by a lot of people.

Pleasantly surprised by the AI in an Alsace 30 minute race so I'm making arcade my workhorse till I get more experience with the physics. I'm planning on testing the online races tomorrow though...:nervous:

You'll be fine. The physics is very different and there are new tracks to get used to but there's no substitute for racecraft.

Somethings never change it seems...

I'm wondering, as this thread is now almost entirely off-topic, whether we should start a QM exiles thread under the GTS forum. Or maybe just carry on the chat here?

Oh, me stupid  ... I never cared too much for these except for the smiley button

See ?

The AI definitely improved and you can have nice races now in Arcade. GL for tomorrow m8 👍 ...

@ramurel
Welcome here.
The GSX-R/4 is your choice :irked: ? So be it .
Make it as heavy as possible 👍 ...

QM exiles thread ! That's a great idea ... and sounds really wonderful.

PS
Do it, start it. It will take you minutes to write the header, when I would struggle for hours.

The countersteer assist isn't the mighty helper like SRF is ... and someway dependent on car / track combo.
I had one mission or test where it gave me almost a second though.
And I've been a bit unlucky discussing it with my "no assists at all costs":lol::lol: attitude.
I won't use it !

I wish I could turn the traction control off in higher powered MR and FR cars without it spinning me out on medium and slow corners. Even fast corners are dicey for me when the rear steps out slightly so I've got a lot of learning to do to get rid of it.

...and noob that I am, I noticed the DS4 has a 3.5mm jack in it tonight. Plugged in my headset, switched audio off chat only to all audio and heard the improved sound properly for the first time. Very cool hearing the chopper swoop around my head and the majority of engine notes and drive trains sounded brilliant. Lots of little details my crap TV audio seemed to miss. On the downside, I can't hear what my missus is nagging about...💡:D:tup:...until she throws a cushion at me to get my attention...👎:grumpy:

Regarding the AI, I had another 30 minute arcade race tonight and found a small flaw with them. For some reason, they don't seem to see the rear quarter of your car if you get a bit close. They can even keep pushing and try to pit you. I guess they don't have to worry about the SR but at least they're a bit quicker this time around.

One of the reasons that keep me from racing OL atm. I start to miss it badly but I stick to the 'no assists' approach, so I go on practicing. Really afraid of turning into a loose rocket ;) on track - in my own interest as well as in everybody else's.

Btw
She loves you as long as it's a cushion instead of a pan  !

Saw where you've been reading right now - you'll usually find faster tunes in the respective seasonal TT threads. Go with guys like @ERAZER or @SW__10 ... great tunes.

PS
Just guessing ... don't make an oil change 👍 !

I'm having to use TC, usually 1 or 2, on most cars. Even slower cars will lose the back end accelerating out of slow corners in a completely unrealistic way. I never used TC in GT6 because it was faster and more fun that way, but it's not faster or fun if you spin out at every slow corner.

Herein lies my 'big task'.
You go racing in the streets ( Bruce Springsteen ) doing what it takes to race good and safe, I'm thinking the other way round : If I can't manage to handle a stupid car, I'm not entitled to enter a track. That's me :( !

You're right, especially the N group and some single other cars are too sensitive on their rear.
All in all I'd say it's more realistic than GT6 though.

Isn't it strange, I'm not having that problem, and am running mainly without TC.....

If I feel a car has the potential to lose the back end I will put TC on for an online race, just to avoid problems and embarrassment!

To me the cars feel much more planted than they ever did in GT6, must be down to different driving styles presumably?

must be down to different driving styles

It doesn't like mine, that's for sure. On/off accelerator isn't going to cut it and the few attempts at manual gears I've done have shown how badly I need to learn it. The short shifting is going to be strong with GTS...

I found the Gr4 cars easy to drive without TC and the dirt tracks are a blast but when I get to 400hp+, nope, and definitely not for road cars. From there on it feels like I've got line lock on. Handy having the MFD to play with the level mid race though. That's getting used a lot.

I agree it's a lot more realistic though. You'd need to be a bloody good driver to handle that much power without assists. Especially using a DS4.

...and guess who thought GT6's DS3 sensitivity setting would be exactly the same as GTS's DS4? 7 on GT6 feels like 9 or 10 on GTS... I struggled for the whole of the first day until I dropped it back to 0 again. Numpty.

With MrMooses idea of a new thread in a proper place for the regular meandering off topics. This thread is getting unrecognisable.

Something like a general GTS chit chat like this thread has been for QM's. No real topic. Just hints, tips, whatever you're doing in the game sort of thread and no problems with going mildly off topic...like I do sometimes...

Thanks to you and to all guys for giving me a warm welcome here. !
I usually having fun with my Speedsteer 00, but when I'm in a room full of GSX it's tough and sometime frustrating, kind of like running LeMans in a lower category ! :)
Thanks to all !

That's the thrill.
The Speedster is a cool car, if I remember correctly @bone_tone is straight a Speedster specialist 👍.
Do what Legolas and Gimli do when fighting the Olifants ... count the kills.
My GSX kill count is at 932 I think :D !

On the DS4 sometimes it's literally a nanometer from 'planted' to 'rear wheel slip' with no good chance to recover 'cos there still is big lag between input and reaction of the car 👎.

The thought of battling the gixxers in a Speedster is making me all nostalgic... must concentrate on GTS though.

Maybe we should plan a reunion before the GT6 servers are taken down. Pick a time when we can all make it and storm a QM.

No rumours. I'm sure you've got a while yet. I can't remember how long GT5 on-line lasted after GT6 was released - maybe a year or so?

Well, let's hope they'll not make it a rule, especially because GT6 has no sequel and PS3 is not yet a dead platform, look at the prices for it, they're still keep it up !
In fact, I am still wandering why they didn't make "Sport" for PS3 ! Maybe because there's no way to move up on PS3 with Gran Turismo series, everything is at the limit, the realism, the feeling, the steering wheels capabilities, the online gaming [ even if there is a small room for some improvement for online gaming, IMO ] .

To be completely honest, the real "in fact", for me, is that my wife would kill me if I'll move to PS4 ! She promised ! And I trust her, as always ! :)
Or, like that movie quote is, "I'm too old for that **** !" :) There was 2 glorious decades for me on this **** !

We can hope they keep the GT6 servers up for a good while. There is no way they could have made GTS for the PS3. The graphics alone are nowhere near. Anyway Sony wouldn't have let them - they want you to to buy a PS4. Christmas is coming so maybe your wife could be persuaded.:)
