If you pick up a woman and you're walking to your econo-box, regardless if she teases you or not, you're getting some action as long as it isn't rusty/filthy.

The way I see it is the things you own can make you more appealing. I'm not saying women are materialistic zombies but this applies to everything... for example, a guy who dresses sharply is more appealing than a guy who dresses in sweats, a guy who owns his own place is more appealing than a guy who lives in his mother's basement.

That's all I'm saying... a nice car can go a long way in terms of picking up girls... it isn't the be all end all, but it helps.

Oh, there's plenty of those...trust me.

Ever have a woman ask you your credit score after talking with her less than 10min? Personally, I try to talk as little about myself as possible while making sure her drink is always full...a shot or 3 of Patron never hurts either.

Women love talking about themselves and doing shots of tequila. They don't like hearing about your leased Infinity or why you drive a Camaro.

If you're looking for a relationship or a 2nd/3rd date; you're probably spot-on.

and straight guys wonder why they're single ;)

And guys in a marriage always wonder why they're broke. (unless they're divorced; then they know why)

Ever add up all the $$$ you spend courting a woman for the 1st couple months? It's like a mortgage on a 2nd home. According to sources, marriage is just as expensive.

Between the choice of owning a Ferrari or having a wife; I'll take the Ferrari 10 times out of 10. Both are ridiculously expensive and high maintenance; but take a guess which one will never get fat...

That may make me a pig; but a pig with a Ferrari...I'm cool w/that.

a pig with a ferarri...now I gotta draw that...problem is, I'd butcher the Ferarri...

How about four wheel drive and plenty of power?

Get an Impreza. Mid 90's non-WRX models are relatively cheap nowdays.

I don't suppose the OP wants a Lincoln Town Car like I do???? 💡

"A real pretty lass
With a great huge ass
Even though it's got 2 tons of mass
But oh so much class!"

Judging by his post probably not, be back to being serious, you might like to try a Pontiac G5/Chevy Cobalt? They're (fairly) reliable and the 2-door at least looks pretty good. Just don't have any expectations for the interior. A friend of mine has the Pontiac in the 4-door version, it it's VERY cheap inside.

But it'll get the job done I guess. If you find that too small how about a used Chevy Malibu? A 6-7 year old example you could probably afford, and it could be a decent starter car.

But I agree with McLaren - the girls vs. car debate... isn't! As much as I love cars I'd choose a female companion over an inanimate object any day... I can't see how anyone wouldn't want some reciprocity in their relationship!!!:sly:

Well, mom and dad bought a new '11 VW Golf TDi (wagon) for mom, so I'll be driving the Corolla. I'm certainly very happy with the way it's turned out, and they've said they'll probably let me drive the VW or Buick Enclave if I'm going to hockey with one other friend (VW), or taking a bunch of people somewhere (Enclave). As for the Corolla, I enjoy driving it, and it's very fuel efficient, so it should make for a great car to use to get to and from school, and drive to Subway at lunch instead of buying crappy cafeteria food.

A tad off topic, but god damn the torque in the Golf TDi is awesome. I want one now

I'm going for my (G2) test on June 7th, so I'm getting pretty excited. Need to work on parallel parking, and backing into a parking space. Otherwise, I'm pretty confident I'll be able to pass the test.

The only "mod" I've done to the Corolla so far, is to take off my mom's Minnie Mouse antenna topper. I'm certainly fine with driving an economical Toyota, but I'm not driving around with Minnie Mouse on top

That's is one tacky addition to a vehicle. Your corolla will be a lot happier now.

Yeah, I mean I'm not exactly pre occupied with looking cool, but a minnie mouse antenna topper was just a step too far

I'm actually looking forward to embarassing my friends in it when I can drive. Most of my other friends can't drive so they'll come with me to get lunch, but one friend in particular is really caught up with appearances (American Eagle/Hollister clothes, shades, hair, etc etc.) and he's really keen about cool music. He only listens to the latest hits, and when he drives with his dad (can't drive alone yet), always blares it to impress girls. My plan? Blare the Bee Gees or something to embarrass him.

Good job takin off minnie

It's like a punch in the face... but you'll realize in time that that's all it has, upper RPMs are anemic haha. My girlfriend's mom has a MkV Jetta TDI, and it's stupid how well it can throw you into your seat on a 2.0L engine! But it's still not as fast as a 140hp civic... But damn is it more fun :) I'd love to have one to drive

First mod to that corolla, get some new door speakers!

With the DSG gearbox though, you can control the gearing and keep it in that 2k-3.5k sweet spot. It's just a damn fun car to drive.

Yeah, we'll see though about the Corolla. It's not really "my" car per se, but I'll be driving it to and from school everyday, around town and whatnot. They're not calling it my car yet because they want me to prove I'm responsible enough, which I think I could do. Maybe after it's really my car I'd look into new speakers and perhaps a new intake, but I really don't want to bother sinking a bunch of money into a Corolla. It's a point A to point B car, and that's really all I'm looking for right now.

Woot, Corolla. My mom has a 2011 and that thing gets a solid 30+ mpg cruising at 70. At a GPS-verified 42 mph it gets 50+. Crazy.

Then when you can afford it, be a man and get something old that gets 15 in traffic. Hell yeah.

Best part about speakers, save the orgininals, store them in climate control, not your garage, and put some nice aftermarkets in there. If your mom ever wants her car back, you take your speakers out and put the old ones back in. It's as easy as removing a door panel and undoing 4 screws (per speaker)

That's why I have no trouble sinking money into my truck's system, I know it's removable and a million and a half other vehicles use the same size speakers. And the amp/sub/head unit are universal

It's not that she'll want the car back (why would she, considering she just bought a brand new VW), but that the car isn't technically mine yet. I imagine that they'll probably "give" me the car eventually, but as of now I can't see them letting me put new speakers in.

Yep, it's one damn efficient car. I'm glad I'm driving something efficient around, because I really don't want to be paying for the gas on a truck or something. I'll certainly upgrade when I can afford it and don't suck at driving. Really, it's probably the perfect starter car, reliable, efficient, not powerful enough to get me into any trouble, but fast enough that it's safe on the highway, small enough to park easily, but big enough to carry my hockey gear and 5 people (well, 4 comfortably).

I should start up a Corolla club at my school, there's a bunch of rich kids with Chev trucks who call themselves "Team Rado" (Silverado/Colorado). Lameass stickers and everything. I should find everyone with a Corolla, and hand out "Team 'Rolla" stickers or something.

Make sure you include Pontiac Vibe/Chevy-Geo Prizm/Chevy Nova ('85-88) owners, too. X3
